CareerRe: Meet Some Of Dangote Truck Drivers by ochallo: 10:04pm On Nov 10, 2012
MOBBDEEP: I no sabi every & I stand to be corrected/taught, but I wonder the value of what they are hauling that a truck driver will be paid 400grand despite the fact that he's not the owner of the truck.
Take for instance, an average truck hauls about 600 bags of cement which put the total value at 900k if we use 1,500 per bag. I'm just thinking how possible it is to pay the driver 400grand for only his driving service.
Even the independent truck owners get paid around 250k.
Like I said, I wish to be educated if I'm incorrect.
i think they would be hauling cocaine. LOL

obo_man: Everything shouldn't be about the money..... You become graduate to earn a career, not a living.... A career is lifelong, and I don't think being a truck driver is the raason why people go to university....

That being said, should I attack Dangote for providing a means of livelihood for people? NO

I will surely blame the government......

Nigeria's main problems are 3, that can easily be tackled...... If we solve the problem of electricity, roads and security, we are on the right track. I have recently just left University like most of these graduates, and want to start an Ice-cream business. I have already made contacts, thanks to mobile technology, now I need good roads to transport my raw materials and finished goods in and out of my factory. I also need constant electricity to run my gadgets.

I have neither good roads nor constant electricity. Now I need to buy generator, and now I need to constantly fuel my generator...... Look at them huge costs used to start up businesses in 9ja.....I'm entrepreneurial, my parents could easily raise me capital, but I need my government to do her bit.

If we could protest against fuel hike as a People, I don't know why we can't tell our government to fix electricity within three months or we all go on strike indefinitely.

Soldiers, Police, teachers, everyone..... We invade National House of Assembly and camp there until our demands are met........

Constant Electricity alone can reduce unemployment in Nigeria by 30%.
wow, i am happy that there are still right thinking Nigerians in this country. God bless you my brother and may all your good dreams and endeavors be successful.

Foreign AffairsMalawi Suspends Anti-gay Laws, First African Country To Do So after south africa by ochallo(op): 3:25pm On Nov 07, 2012
Malawi is shelving its laws against homosexuality pending a vote on whether to repeal them, a rights group said, a bold move in a continent that mostly criminalizes such relationships.

The justice minister said the laws are suspended and police cannot arrest or prosecute homosexuals until parliament votes, Amnesty International said in a statement Monday.

Same-sex relationships are illegal in the southern African nation and carry a penalty of up to 14 years in prison. In 2010, Malawi made international headlines when it arrested two men for getting married. The two were later pardoned after an international outcry.

"Amnesty International welcomes Minister (Ralph) Kasambara's statement and hopes it serves as the first step toward ending discrimination and persecution based on real or perceived sexual orientation and gender identity in Malawi," said Noel Kututwa, the rights group's director for southern Africa.
Earlier this year, President Joyce Banda pledged to review the laws in a move aimed at boosting relationships with international donors. Critics accused her predecessor, who died in April, of rebelling against the international community and risking foreign aid that benefits the poor.

Foreign donors, including Britain, have threatened to withhold aid from nations violating gay rights. The same year Malawi arrested the two men, it also detained a man for putting up posters supporting homosexuality. Homosexuality is illegal in most African countries, where sodomy laws were introduced during colonialism.

Qatar is a very secular state, the only unfortunate thing is that some of the original limitations of islam still affects it which they are shedding fast, they sent women to the olympics and are vying to host where women would wear their pants and bra to run, that cant happen in a boko haramm state

There goes Nigeria, and all the hypocrites. Why is it that hypocrisy has become food in Nigeria, all of a sudden we have morals and yet we are among the top 20 most corrupt countries in the world. I would never go to a strip club, i have never even been to a night club and i know i would never be, but i don't support the closure, all developed countries have clubs and they steal have good health care, electricity and infrastructure, we are here just rolling and wallowing in hypocrisy . What should be done is regulation, that's all! and like someone said, the clubs would never be closed , it would just become more expensive , just like every thing in NIgeria , when you compare their prices with those in other countries.

I got the same call about 2 years ago and he sounded very familiar but i knew i didn't know him, because i know people very well and the name he called was quite familiar and i knew people who bore that name. @ op your friend deserved what he got, when you leave in a corrupt environment and you have allowed that corruption to possess you , you start misbehaving. Why would you give 50k to settle someone who would give you a job, you are greedy, corrupt and foolish. My was N500,000 and i was to buy a product and supply the company but i immediately called people i know and asked them about the product and they said it was non existent and that supply of products to the companies would not be done by individuals but by tenders. When you have to do something very fast for a very unrealistic goal , then you should stop and think , putting your greed and selfishness aside, and also pray the spirit of god guides your every decision.

Christianity EtcFour-week-old Colombian Baby Can Walk & Breathe Fire by ochallo(op): 6:12pm On Oct 29, 2012

Black magic and evil spirits have captured the soul of a new-born baby in Colombia who can apparently already walk by himself and produce fire, his own mother has claimed.

Ana Feria Santos gave birth to her son last month but says her joy quickly turned to fear when she noticed that he had 'several abnormalities' - leading to fears in her community that he is the 'devil in disguise'.

She says the boy can already stand up and walk - quite a feat for a child of just four weeks.

Much like the 1976 horror film The Omen, the mother-of-five says he frequently hides around the house, cackles in an 'adult' way for hours on end and has an 'intimidating' pair of eyes.

She told the RCN Radio station: 'He walks like an adult, sometimes going off and hiding underneath the bed, in a suitcase, in the washing machine or in the fridge.'
A worry for the neighbours: The family live in Lorica, Columbia

A worry for the neighbours: The family live in Lorica, Columbia

Her neighbours in the town of Lorica, near the Caribbean coast, also say he is possessed by a 'malign spirit' and that he is capable of producing fire.

This, they say, is because burn marks have been found on his clothes and a sofa where he regularly sits.

It has led to vigilante attacks on Santos and her taxi-driver husband Óscar Palencia López's house, which is allegedly being pelted with stones on a nightly-basis by frightened residents.

But the 28-year-old's story has not been believed by doctors, who have now launched an investigation into the possibility that the new-born could have been abused.

The Colombian Family Welfare Institute, the National Police and the Catholic Church have also all refused to assert the claims that black magic is involved.

A team of psychologists, a social worker, a nutritionist and a lawyer will now look into the case, with a source saying: 'The child shows signs of abuse.

'Two small burns were found on the palm of the left hand and for that reason a restoration measure was adopted to [safeguard] the family environment.

'The parents received a warning while the facts are being clarified.'

If the Nigerian Government can take the governor and leave the aides , it shows that they don't value human lives and don't value the masses, and they don't know that this would not rub well on all aides and assistants of political figures.
