notindome: hi satellite gurus,...seems like west africa/sub-sahara are lacking satellite tracking tools and accessories..sorry to say this but it is true!..imagine pics below

Saipro: I disagree. South of the Benue & Niger, literally any good LNBF will work. I have a shelf loaded with Invacoms, Invertos, Avengers & all sorts - of various types. Most of them aren't worth the cash paid on them. Asides a particular Invacom (for reception of circular waves) & another amazing quad AvengerWhat part do you disagree with.. if you have done a test, you can give us the experimental results of these lnbs you have listed ..the point was that inverto red classics c120 lnb, beats other lnb on experimental results done previously!! |
My sat track.no picture.

My sat finder.#25k.no picture included.
Lol...Is this your sat-finder not expensive...you can imagine this DVBS lcd sat finder on the pic below with lcd screen for channel play and volume control for $87.90 dollars equivalent, close to 14000naira location hong-kong www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=sat-finder ![]()

I Hacked: but because may bee he is hobbies he may not use 1000 of euro for sat finder that will only be use for only one day but that does not mean that he don't know that it is the bestThe above statement settles it then...sat finder good..but it does not worth it for one time installation...good when climbing ladder or moving dish all the time. ![]() |

I Hacked: @George D you are a big guy but why are you still carry TV and receiver out for tracking?LOL... ![]() |
Preparing and installing the jack
@George, very nice..i can see you have a shallow dish...if you get in touch with hellas 2 sat_39east...let me know.. and where is the inverto c120 lnb? cheers ... ![]() |
twinskenny: wow so the picture and sound qaulity of the strong 4992a beat the qaulity of picture and sound of my dm800hd hands down... nice product from strong i must say...I hope your dm is not cloned ! |
pedronaran62: modification to my 1.8m prime focus sat dishThe formular for calculating the focal length of a parabolic dish is given below... Focal length=f Depth=c Diameter=D f=(D * D)/(16 * c) what i mean, if the depth of your dish has increased or changed and the diameter also increased...from your pics..why is your focal point still constant?..just wondering ![]()

Kingjames: Any idea on how I can can connect my stb and view from my laptop or a desktop monitor?www.nairaland.com/597748/laptop-port-connecting-receiver |
Zeetry: i didn't say anything about stbs having a particular range of symbol rates they work with, don't attribute that to me it is Odilibe who report so, guy get your fact right@Zeetry....some receivers have a particular range of symbol rate they work with..can your strong srt receiver take in symbol rate below 2000?..example 1172, try this an report back ,while some receivers like eurostar stb etc can use this symbol rate.... I got one parameter from flysat/amos 5 @ 17east..you can try it also...lagos tv, frequency 4140 R symbol rate 1000...i am sure some stb can't use the above symbol rate... |
kd10: @Odilibe"Nde ewo onye ukwu biko what is the way out bcus i have checked Strong link Non of their STB is Linux based & Infinity package refuse to show pic on my 4669x with 65% unlike before.Biko throw more light on it Sir.Secoundly 4922A/4930L which one of them is best for me to buy?.Cheers.@kd10...I don't think this is a linux operating system issue...i have examined the Tuner specification of strong boxes at their website, the srt 4922A and others etc...this is what i found out... This is the frequency of infinity bouquet at Amos 5_17east below... Frequency :11156 vertical. Symbol rate:45000 FEC rate: 3/5 Mode;DVBS2..MPEG-4..QPSK Encryption;CONAX Tuner specifications of strong srt 4922A and others srt related to this are below Input symbol rate:DVBS: 2-45MS/S DVBS2:10-30MSPS(QPSK & 8PSK ) FEC decode DVB-S : 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6 and 7/8 DVB-S2: 1/2, 3/5, 2/3, 3/4, 4/5,5/6,8/9,9/10(QPSK) 3/5, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6, 8/9, 9/10(8PSK) Here is the break down analysis The strong srt boxes related to the above specification did not comply with the symbol rate of infinity bouquet at amos 5 @ 17east....since the input symbol rate of strong srt boxes ,DVB-S2 input symbol rate =10-30msps ..Excluding conax encryption system. conclusion you will be having tuner issue using most strong stb,4922A ETC on dvb-s2 signal on symbol rate over 30000 ,while it can't decode DVB-S2 signal at FEC =1/4, 7/8, 1/3, 2/5 on both mode (QPSK & 8PSK) and may reject symbol rate below 2000 etc... My advice is this when you want to buy a box, read features and specification sheets before you buy, cheers ![]() |
Zeetry: strong dey try bross, all those receivers u mentioned are linux based, they've realised that DTH owners these days are encrypting there signals only to work on there box which are mainly linux based, hence their( strong) decision to produce linux receivers like 4329, 4300,4922,4922A etcThis strong boxes you stated, are not linux based operating system/open source receivers like dreambox..direct me to the link or to the website, where it is stated..cheers ![]() |
Ogojohn: What satellites will I be able to hit with this mesh dish at ONITSHA and in case I decides to replace this dish what size of pan dish can I use at my present location to get Nile sat? From a source, 3meter pan dish is available in onitsha! that will be good for nilesat |
Talenty: I called the guy in Lagos and he told me that Redline is 28,000 naira. It's really on a high side but considering the functions, it's worth it."but the price of redline boxes are going down each month in the uk, worth less than 19k in a uk online shop"...while ordering 10pieces of redline T3000HD box on a spot worth less than 15000naira each "this box is supposed to be cheaper in lagos"... ![]() |
For those who wants to discover new satellites i did some background check on lyngsat here is what i found out..nothing much just update ![]() @51.5east..SKY-VISION has a test channel on chinasat 15a @ 51.5east,africa/asia/europe beam C-band frequency 4130 V 28800/DVB-S2 www.lyngsat.com/ChinaSat-15A.html @50.5east 2 thai channels has started on old nss-5 new position @ 50.5east...global beam frequency 4172 R 13330 www.lyngsat.com/NSS-5.html happy haunting ![]() |
@swordswifter the frequency doesn't belong to 28east...cheers |
swordswifter: @ all,May be you picked up a feed...i will check 28.2e shortly |
kyleege: good morning guys, according to satbeams & tracksat updates eut 7a @ 7'east rdv,tv zimbo etc are on the sub-saharan beam with freq 21....... Now my question is which decoders are compatible with this freq above 12750.you mean the ka band frequency on 7east, they are on europe beam, check again,I did a check last week, flysat or tracksat won't give you the exact coverage at the moment and you need ka band lnb for this cheers ! |
@odilibe, With clean FTA you don't have to worry about your favorite stations been scrambled. You don't have to waste precious time hunting for keys all over the internet. You don't have to face the embarrassment of explaining to that eagle-eyed neighbor of yours why the champions league match he came to watch in your house suddenly went off and with the decoder showing $$$ signs.
@George you are right fta channel won't go scrambled....but they can switch off anytime on/off,unable to maintain service...change frequency ..leave satellite completely ,same thing goes, you will face same embarrassment..when your TV channel goes blank.. no signal, but that is what makes it a hobby...However whether haunting for fta channel or key for $channel etc..there will always be a price to pay.... |
@zomzom, Regardless of what you may want to believe, there are still a few of us good members who remain committed to CLEAN FTA. [b]We are unrepentantly anti-piracy, anti-descramling, anti-dongle, anti-Cline,.
@George..when you include softcam key...the so called biss key, nagra etc, which is flooded all over internet to open some locked channels..it didn't make much difference from anyone using dongle etc...if you look @ it this way then over 99% of fta hobbyists everywhere else could be guilty of this offence ..hehehe! ..don't get me wrrong. |
sokopion: it is not for satellite gurus it is for those who can not reach good decodersHere is some euro line-up ;although this boxes may not be available anywhere else, just for updates only, ...the protek 9800 HD ip linux....the mvision-700 linux...and the mvision HD 260WIFI...The latest receiver from protek...the protek 9800 hd linux ,can use enigma2 image, Ucamd plugin.. auto updates software via internet ![]() The mvision presents their new streaming portal ...it includes an amazing amount of free tv contents no dish needed only ethernet via internet this includes.. mvision life style channel, mvision techno channel, mvision trailer channel.. mvision xvision 1&2 etc ..through their digital hd receivers the mvision 260wifi and mvision 270cn hd with videoclub function .. and free gift from other source ![]() http://www.mvision.tv enjoy preview

ayolacz: two of u are confused. c band or ku band signal does not determine the dish size u need to hit green on any satellite. what determines the dish size u need is the footprint of the satellite."but still footprint does not determine the dish size you need to lock a particular transponder on any given satellite @ coverage area or @ fringe area" ...What determines the dish size is the EIRP level=(dBW)...dBW means the power radiated from the satellite in direction towards the contour line, where EIRP ...(Effective isotropic radiated power):it is a measure of transmission power of a given satellite beam...it is also the amount of power that would have to be radiated by an isotropic antenna to produce the equivalent power density observed from the actual antenna in a specified direction...For example the highest number, towards the middle of the coverage map shows where the down-link beam is strongest and most easy to receive, in the center of the beam a smaller dish size is required...as you move further away from the beam peak ,the beam becomes less porwerful and larger dish will be required...where EIRP level of 55dBW will be equal to a dish size of 40cm in the ku band within coverage area or EIRP LEVEL=49dBW and dish size of 65CM within same beam/same footprint @ different direction etc.... |
auchs: it means you can watch two different channels at same time with the decoder. Get two televisions for the decoder.@auch you may have explained a dual view receiver..not a twin tuner receiver, dual view normally have two remote controls, to what two different tv channels from one receiver on two tv without interruptions ![]()
