microgiant: @George,

It's like the Waffi lightening had struck my Avenger LNB. angry I will do a comprehensive test today after work to confirm. The TV and STB are not affected as I always unplug them from the mains and disconnect the RF Cable daily as a precaution. Lightening in Warri is something else.
But why was your previous lnb(s) wasn't struck by lightening..just immediately you install the avenger lnb it got struck by lightening.... huh

or may the lnb couldn't take in power supply from the receiver and died.. grin grin

sathob: George, it's not about getting right tools oo. I think the bro is right in asking that question; why will those signals elude us here in this part of Africa (anything good in the air regarding sat is minus the western part of Africa) WHY, is there any any politricks in this tech or biz?
"Cos west-africa don't have a free to air or even pay-tv satellite channels owned by west-africans may be one or two free to air satellite channels that transmits on west africa satellite beams! so there is no reason to extend satellite coverage on that particular zone"!cos only few satellite tv operators are leasing transponders that covers that region....of-course satellites are placed in-orbit to generate income . grin grin

Cheny: @kungu,thanks a lot 4 d info on pak sports. @brainy02 and others who wish to hunt dis bird,u can track it when u remove the dielectric plate. I hav tracked it b4 here in kogi state with my 2.4m dish. Cheers.
@cheny...you may be referring to the old paksat1 which was easily tracked in nigeria with 2.4mtr dish..the satellite has been replaced with paksat1R which do not cover nigeria as a whole..

Kungu: Good Evening Brainy02,

Please try with a 2.4 meter prime focus using frequency 4158 V 12000.
In Kenya i am getting all the TP's using a 1.8 meter Prime focus dish.
brainy02:
would 2.4 from lagos nail this bird
2.4mtr can not nail this bird in lagos ..the recommended dish size @the edge of the beam coverage of paksat claims 3.5m...i suggest do a track with up-to 5meter Prime focus dish or more grin grin...

Man, I am on the way towards getting me a used 3m solid dish and I can gat someone who can get me the red classic inverto "wonderkid" C120 flange lnb especially at that price and send it to me amongst his goods. My problem now: please can you let me know the online shop from which it is bought at that price so I can send it to him. Thankx in advance.
Here is the cheapest website you can get...red classic c120=(www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_nkw=red+classic+quad+c120&_ipg=200&rt=nc)
feedhorn=(www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nkw=feedhorn)
Note...these sellers do not ship world-wide
happy browsing. grin grin

Ikiriye: @all
The cries for the red classic lnb will be over soonest as I have almost concluded logistics to get true to chief Odilibe.
I need serious people interested to plz add their names and location for the lnb.
Let it be repeated more on this page so I can have all names or possibly send me mail to ikiriye@gmail.com cheers
if anyone is interested in the red classic lnb it is a good idea to add his name to ikiriye...
Here is deal (OPTION1):one of my family member is visiting nigeria from uk next december...that means he can still get this lnb to nigeria and he will post all lnb from nigeria to ikiriye...this option will remove the international shipping cost..
(OPTION2):you can still get this lnb ..through DHL...like the ones for previous testing...
If there is any change in circumstance i will let all know ..cheers... grin grin

obnelly: odilibe, lnb with long neck will be better than short neck because that will give us room for adjustment to the f/d of the dish.
obnelly, you are right!!LNB with long neck will give room for adjustment..but if you are referring to the C120 LNB on the above picture..this is how it will appear without attaching the Feed-Horn...
I think Jackobite needs the red head LNB. Using pauxis on 4m dish is a serious abuse! grin
@George_D..I think you have a point here...he do need a red_head LNB grin grin...this reminds me, i just got a new 0.2dB inverto black pro single flange C120 LNB...this lnb looks very tiny or extremely small compared to red-classic quad C120..The purpose was to know if black pro c120 lnb will perform well as the red-classics quad C120_on a prime focus dish, with the respect of it's low noise figure 0.2dB and conversion gain of 63dB ...in this the inverto black sflange lnb will now be reserved for it's future purpose. cool

obnelly: Anybody that stays along ojota and maryland should help us confirm if this.if you are on that bridge that link maryland and ojota to your right when coming from maryland to ojota you will see two big satellite dish i guess that place shld be viewing center because one of the dish is pointing to hotbird by my calculation while the second dish is pointing to west at angle greater than 45 degrees.can that be sportmax?let keep trying and see if its sportmax anybody with good clear of sight close to 60degrees should help find what sat is it.
It seems like sportsmax jamaica on 53west and 55.5west C-BAND himisphere beam did not cover nigeria...looking @ the footprint map..that will be fringe reception in lagos/nigeria and the signal is scrambled on 55.5west using powervu encryption...Since this is C-BAND coverage..I doubt if this will even be possible with a dish less than 6meter prime focus or more @ 53west which is free to air... huh huh

The inverto black pro single seems to be the better of the lot. However I'm not sure it will be fine with everybody given that it is a single output. You really mean there are better inverto LNB specs than the beautiful red classic?! huh
If we can gain this much from just the red head I wonder what better things await us from the higher grades of LNBs?
Hmmmmmm! Looks like we'll be doing yet another round of testing sometime very soon!
Get ready to break the myth once more! wink
yes...@George_D the inverto black pro range c120 lnb has a lower noise figure than inverto red classic C120...because of the difference in noise figure of this C120 lnb(s),The black pro C120 lnb...now on the future test list... grin grin
specifications...
INVERTO BLACK PRO TWIN C120...noise figure:0.2dB,conversion gain:55dB...
INVERTO BLACK PRO SINGLE.......noise figure:0.2dB,c0nversion gain:53~63dB
RED CLASSIC QUAD................noise figure:0.3dB Typ(0.7dB)max,conversion gain:55dB

This lnb specifications are listed @(www.inverto.tv).....
we will do other test in time to come. Lastly I commend you guys including Odilibe for making provision of those lnbf(s). Viva FTA !
@D.lee thanks for your commendations...there wiil always be a room for testing lnb(s) in time to come...seems like the 0.3dB noise fig, inverto red classic c120 quad with conversion gain of 55dB from test beats other lnbs on prime focus dish...come to think of it..there are other C120 flange lnbs from inverto that has better specification than red classic quad C120...with lower noise figure of 0.2dB higher conversation gain of 53~63dB(max),the inverto black pro c120 flange...this leaves a question mark huh huh..Anyways thanks for your commendations. grin grin grin grin
