ojialo: pls when they say a decorder has a twin tuner what does it mean? cos my uncle want to send an HD decorder that has twin tuner

It means it has two separate tuners..it can be for satellite or terrestrial....some twin tuner receivers have two lnb inputs for satellites or one lnb input and one aerial input to tune to local tv stations ...this is what makes them twin tuner...

sokopion: some of the box that odilibe post according to my google the last one is more powerful than redline
but redline cover some of Africa satellite that you can use 60cm or 90 to grab them and it is easy for me to get it in here .

@sokopion ..... i am using protek 9710 HD pvr fta receiver since march 2012!!still works very well...looks like i made a post on technomate 800 HD box..though i don't know the exact box you are refering to.... but i couldn't compare these boxes with redline either but non of these boxes comes cheap though...

Looking at the redline... the iptv expires within 12months and some sellers claims 12months of free channels .....probably this is a downside on the redline stb..for those that don't have resources

Ait @ 50west can be received in africa and 53west is close to 50west. The problem sportsmax does not extend coverage over africa although 53w have a global beam which cover africa check flysat¤

sokopion: if you as me my rating, Redline is far best than all strong decoders we have now and multitv decoder can not come near redline .and it is good to me than orton 403x .

Good review•••it is good to have review on sat boxes versus sat boxes••though I am not a redline fan!

swordswifter: It seems like Technomate receivers have almost the same GUI(Graphical user interfaces) as Strong receivers and even some of their models look alike.

*Who has any knowledge of it and why is it so?

*Is Technomate plagiarizing Strong products or it's the other way round or maybe they are all just one in the same company?

Is that possible technomate company ,plagiarizing strong technology! .......if you do research very well you find out that the current strong HD boxes are below standard compared to current technomate HD boxes....Some technomate boxes are built with... open source linux embedded, can use Enigma2/open pli image...internal hard disk drive support..405MHZ broadcom dual core MIPS processor ...triple tuner/twin tuner...record upto 3 channels and playback a recorded file at the same time..3xUSB port etc...i don't think there is any strong box that are built with this specifications...or linux embedded...if my memory serves me current technomate boxes was in the local market over here in 2001 ...wouldn't know when strong boxes start flooding the market...seems like i have X(S) SD receiver that looks exactly like strong receiver,if i am right? was even in the nigerian market before strong SD boxes.....who is plagiarizing who..

This post is questionable... turksat 2a ,does not have west-africa beam..from lyngsat/flysat/satbeams...coverage is europe,middle-east,central asia and russia...EIRP of 50dBW within coverage area ....or was the west-africa beam previously not realised

You can't even watch all the full premier league on sky-sports uk ...@ 28.2east.. better still haunt for nova sports 3,4 @hotbird 13east. ..don't be discouraged though!!

swordswifter: That's a fact guys. I have access to dsthieves but surprisingly i don't have the edge to watch it any more. Their movie channels are all repetitions and i honestly think they running out of ideas now. They made a big mistake seeing FTA users as a problem rather than the solution.

These apply to all tv channels whether fta or pay-channel.....tv programme needs to be repeated...

Setoop: i hope this has not damage your decoder , what happen is that you have allow the positive and negative terminal of the coaxial cable that supply voltage from the box to diseqc switch to join together somewhere along the line (or to lnbf, if you not using switch )make sure you separate them ,it might probabily be the point where u use connector (check both the point of connection to box n switch and make sure that the hard wire at center didn't touch the flexible outside )

Old Strong receivers normally and automatically shuts itself down to prevent damage...when two terminals of the coaxial cable joins together....if that happens you need to use the on/off switch at back panel of the receiver switch it off and put it on again ,the receiver will start to function again..but in this case the receiver didn't shut down itself or have they started using cheap hardware

Adex70...may be you should upgrade to 3meter or so..instead looking for a way to increase the dish....i was told about 3weeks ago that 3meter pan dish cost about 45000 naira in onitsha...i will be replacing my 2.4meter pan dish with 3m pan @ my place in enugu anytime soon...may get a good signal with 3mtr pan dish @ nilesat

Some transponders go down during the day due to... an increase in noise power/interference due to the sun's radiation degrading satellite signals,radiation from the sun is a combination of electromagnetic waves ranging from infrared and ultraviolet rays etc, radiation from the sun is more active @11am t0 5pm..... from 7pm till morning in the absence of sun's radiation ,can have an effect on satellite signals....thereby causing satellite signal increase at night...you may increase dish size to get a good signal above threshold but this problem can't be solved

the in-line amp uses the voltage supply in the cable from/by the receiver..Due to power limitation of the receiver..I am not sure the receiver can supply enough voltage to power the 3 amps...I may be wrong though..you can give it a trial

calis2: All brave men in d house.I must tell u dat u fellows are great..I hav suceeded in buying 1 line amplifier only,which i connectd 1stly at d 1st joint it comes up with 3tps which is not stable,I den remove it 4rm dat 1st place and add it to d 2nd joint and it comes up with 5stable tps and 4 unstable which normally goes off evry afternoon till morning..I still need ur help house.tnx 4 previous help.

*How did u join the cables? did you use the f jointing connector...you are loosing signals from joining cables
*look for a higher gain in-line amplifier than the one you have...try 30dB gain in-line amplifier,to compensate for over 100metre of cable ...if available

you are probably having loss of signal due to joining of cables and long cable runs..what you need is upto 3 satellite f cable jointing connector for connecting coaxial cables or run a cable without jointing this will reduce signal loss ....one in-line amplifier will do

3 coils of strong wire use a high conversion gain lnb....then try satellite in-line amplifier.....this should be connected at middle of the coaxial cable, between the lnb and the receiver ..it is likely to boost the (dB)signal quality of your satellite reception....Good luck.
