I agree with you on this. But hope you know that is moving gradually into restructuring where they are talks of merging non-viable states together. Ebonyi state in the south-east seems to be the only place dragging us behind in every indices. Although they seem to be a level of improvement these past 4 years, yet that doesn’t change the fact that the state is still moving at a slow speed. Adada resembles Ebonyi in many aspect whether you want to belief it or not. Remaining in Enugu is still an advantage for them whether or not they believe this. In terms of population increase both Njaba and Aba doubles that of Adada, the same as educational, economic and other indices. Adada can be created as the 8th Igbo state but never the 6th or 7th.

The North and SW will not support restructuring, it is dead on arrival.

Adada can be created and they develop at their own pace like Ebonyi. Looking down on a fellow Igbo state is not good, everywhere in SE should not be measured with others with time they will come up.

NB: The first three were submitted by the south east caucus including Anioma in future states to be created for Ndigbo during the last Sovereign National Conference

There is nothing like sustainable index in Nigeria, every month each state receive billions from Abuja from oil sells, it will remain like that until all the oil well dry up. The north is ready to kill anyone that goes against this and SW is ready to provide any available support.

Igbos should back a state from SE except if Anioma want to join SE.

Money from Abuja will sustain the new state as it is doing in all Nigeria states now.

That's not the Igbo way.

Onitsha people, would be given the choice to choose where to belong, between Anambra and Anioma, and their final decision would be respected by Ndiigbo, because we are not empire builders , we are democratic by nature. That's who we are .

The best we can do is to lobby Onitsha people to vote to stay with us in Anambra.

If there is Biafra that will be possible but in Nigeria it is not possible, oga face the truth, Onitsha can never join Anioma in Nigeria even Igbanke and other related villages in Edo will find it difficult to join Anioma.

Even Igbanke in Edo state will be very difficult to added to Anioma state to talk of a big city.

Anioma people has been on this case for long time since 1960s. Annexing another state city is impossible in present day Nigeria.

When and if the time comes for Anioma state creation, Onitsha stake holders, ie indigenes and royal fathers, would have the sole right to decide on whether to join or not join Anioma. And nobody who is not an Onitsha indigene, would or should have a say, over this.

Let me say this for avoidance of doubt.

Saying Onitsha is Anioma and should be included in Anioma state, is as good as saying That Ogwashi ukwu( Nri) , Abbi(Achala), Obomkpa (Nri), Ibusa( Isu, ?Isuofia), Asaba ( Nteje) , etc, are Anambra in diaspora and should be included in Anambra State.
Of course, it would not make sense to do such. Same goes with claims of Onitsha being Anioma linked, and hence should be added to Anioma state.


However, if Onitsha people, who are the owners of Onitsha land, vote to join Anioma state. Then nobody has the right to stop them.

Anambra State is bigger than Onitsha. We survived loss of Enugu, we would survive loss of Onitsha, if it comes to that.
As a matter of fact, most of Onitsha had spilled into Obosi, Ogidi, Nkpor, Ozeh, Nsugbe. So even if Onitsha people opts to join Anioma, the above named places would thrive and even grow bigger in development than Onitsha in Anioma, because of the below listed factor :

1. Onitsha is the major city in Anambra and receive by far, a lion share of Anambra State allocation, as Anambra State government spend a huge percentage of her funds on Onitsha infrastructural development.
It wouldn't be same in Anioma state for Onitsha.


2. Anioma already have three main competing but complementary blocks, each with their own cities/towns.
Asaba (for Enu-ani people), Boji Boji (For Ika people), Kwale(Utagba-uno) (For Ukwuani people).
Onitsha would become the fourth city in new Anioma state, with the other three blocks looking on to them as outsiders.
These three groups Want Anioma state because they want to see infrastructural development of their major towns, especially for Boji Boji and Kwale, I don't think they would be happy to see Onitsha taking the second spot, after Asaba, in their new state.
Onitsha people might not know this, or they pretend not to know, but Onitsha is privileged to be in Anambra, and would not thrive this much, outside Anambra.

3. With Onitsha town gone to Anioma, Anambra State government would then focus on the parts of present Onitsha metropolis in Idemili North, Oyi, etc, there would be relocation of markets to these places, and with state sponsored infrastructural development, they would grow like wide fire into bigger city than Onitsha town.

4. Anyone who is pan Igboist, would not advocate for transfer of Onitsha outside Anambra.
Onitsha city is now beyond Onitsha town, it now includes towns in Ogbaru( Okpoko) Idemili North( Obosi, Ogidi, Nkpor), Oyi (Nkwerre Ezunaka) and then Ozeh and Nsugbe.
And it's consistently expanding more, by each day.


5.Rather than thinking about annexing Onitsha, Anioma state campaigners, should look Westward at the possibility of recovering Igbanke, Irun and other Ika towns trapped in Edo state, even if it means releasing Ozanogogo back to Bini people.

Nothing will make Onitsha to be added to the said Anioma, does that make sense to anyone.

If they are thinking of that,maybe they are not ready for any Anioma state.You cant create a new state by taken cities of already existing state to a new one, which new state in the history of Nigeria is created like that.

Anioma have Asaba, Ika, Ukwuani, Igbanke and Kwale which is enough to form a state.

Adada people in Enugu that is agitating for a State are they talking of annexing Enugu town into Adada.
