Hmmm, LIGHT, CAMERA, ACTION! I think he's only the store's manager. Well kudos to him |
MaiGemu:Either you didn't read the article at all or you don't understand technical information. This is one of the best news I've ever read on NL. Quite sad most people here don't feel same. It just shows we still have a long way to go. |
LuciferAdvocate:Don't mean to tell you your part but... You should be commending him, he did your bidding ![]() |

I don't know how 'friends' will see a disturbing or suicidal post on WhatsApp or FB and just ignore it. Yet when the incident they will be first to write long eulogies and pointless stories like they truly care! If you can do it for a man when he's alive, don't bother about it when he's gone. RIP to the man. Depression is real and it's evil. Though in this part of the world we are yet to understand that. Too bad! |
Misleading title. The man was dismissed 24 years ago over allegations of corruption. He however was trying to make the court see his dismissal as false meaning that he should be entitled to all his salary for the said years, including other benefits. But Mr. Judge didn't quite agree with him. |
I'm a Christian. The answer to this question is based on what qualifies as sin in Christianity. Yes, the Bible is the reference book of Christianity but it doesn't explicitly specify what is sin and what is not. Although this is virtually impossible because it means it would have to contain probably millions of definitions. What the Bible rather gave is a rather simple mechanism for defining what qualifies as sin. "But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day," says the LORD. "I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people." Jer 31:33 NLT "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God." Roms 8:14 NLT So it's the Spirit of God in us that directs our steps as a Christian. He distinguishes right from wrong by simply answering this question 'What will Jesus do?' for any particular situation. "Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it." James 4:17 NLT @OP The answer to your question is within you. |
See the way she rested her head on his chest. That's a gesture that implies "I've done my part, it's time to now relax and enjoy my labours." This is exactly how I want to make my parents feel. |
XwhY:I guess I was not being too considerate there. Logically, one might not get the main motive of the man about the write up or his actions.I agree with this. |
ayusco85:Picks up the mic... Greedy men have found their way into the church. They've made it a business and are cashing out bountifully at the expense of their faithful members who've been bound by their false teachings. This is happening just as the Bible predicted. If only Christians would seek to know God personally. If... Places the mic on its stand and walks away |
Debramaye:Oops, didn't really meant it that way tho. I was trying to point out the fact that attempting suicide is a criminal offence. The dude has a point sha.. I think it all boils down for individuals to educate each other on this matter, cause children are suffering on the streets trying to make something out of life, when it's the fault of their parents bringing them into this harsh reality, it is a taboo to disobey the first law of pro creation, don't not bring more offsprings to a world of scarce resources, as most birds and animals respect this law cos they bring in more when there's more food and less when there's less foodYes I agree, but I think that he should rather push for laws to enforce birth control while parents should be enlightened on the need for proper family planning. I think some high population countries are already implementing this. None-the-less, saying it's a crime to birth children is entirely wrong. |
Cc Speedyconnect15 Cc ZIMDRILL Logically speaking I don't see his point. His argument is that giving birth to kids without their consent is morally wrong which makes no sense at all since it is impossible to get their consent. The post says he's an anti-natalist not an advocator for children's right. However, if his grouch is about the sense of entitlement parents feel for raising a child, I think he's misled. Although parents are tasked with the moral and legal responsibility of raising a child, once the child comes of age he/she is free to decide what to do with his life. Being appreciative for parental support is not legally binding but morally commendable. Especially when they extend their support beyond the time they are legally bound to. Procreation is a natural cause and tagging it a crime is just absurd. He should rather push to legalize suicide. If you feel unjustly done by being born into this world then you're free to leave at your own discretion. |
I'm what you don"t like |

My guess, Michael's toad eyes - Metaphor More conspicuous than Lai Mohammed's lies - Hyperbole 'Lie' flatly - Homonym We know it's possible to have eyes and be blind - Antithesis Having a heart, yet dead - Polysemy, metalepsis, 'heart' - metonym Little sun - Oxymoron little sun can see - personification |
I think intelligence in summary is a measure of how well a persons' mind processes information. It is not tied to any field or discipline. |
Dear OP, I really appreciate your sincerity towards this issue. I'll start by saying that your fears are completely understandable and valid. I believe everyone has the right to set standards for their choices especially when it comes to choosing a spouse. A financially independent spouse, as you say is desirable. But I feel you're missing something. Being financially independent doesn't always have to do with one's family background or income, but rather on ones managerial skills and mindset. A spouse having a high flow of income or solid financial support but lacking good managerial skills and spending habits will only become a liability in the long run. A rich lady can be a liability as well as a poor lady. That said, a good wife should also know when her family's/personal demands are hampering your growth. Your desire is good but I feel you need to rethink your strategy. Don't throw away the beans with the chaff. This is my take, I may be right or wrong. Have a nice day! |
I'm surprised they got the spelling correctly |
HeyCorleone:Really? How did you know that? |
openmine:Paying of tithe a mosaic law? I disagree. Abraham, the patriarch, was the first according to scriptures to pay tithe. Now if the tithe was instituted before the law came then it stands that the principle of tithing remains even after the law is abolished. And I don't see where I separated those two scriptures, as a matter of fact they strongly corroborate each other. |
openmine:You have missed the whole reason why the tithe was ever instituted. - Ministers in the house of God were not supposed to do any secular jobs apart from the ministerial work - The tithe and offering was their source of livelihood. Consider Nehemiah 13:10-13. - Yes the tithe which literally means 'a tenth' is one-tenth of your produce or by extension income. Refer again the first scriptures I cited. - Pastors cannot make me believe what is outside the scriptures. - No, I'm not the most faithful in that regards but I'm trying to be. - About eating of tithe, kindly refer to the scriptures I cited first again, you will find your answers there. |
For those asking where in the Bible did God said we should pay tithe 'one-tenth' it clearly means you don't know the Bible at all. Kindly refer to Numbers 18:21-32, Deuteronomy 14:22-29 Further emphasis was laid on tithe in the book of Malachi. Paying of tithe is a divine ordinance. No wonder Jesus said "For the sake if your tradition, you have made void the word (law) of God." - Matt. 15:6 |
Point noted Nice piece |
That would be 'pupu' It is also a Nigerian pidgin word for ... |
So cute. |
Dominicah:I once argued with someone that feminist movements are just a waste of time and resources. No offence but with this school of thought you hold, I think I was right. |
Some people here on NL needs to be checked, they might be suffering from the delusion of bigotry. What has tribe got to do with the case above? Where are mods when you need them, probably enjoying the traffic that this bigotry is producing. |
100,000mAh seriously?! Please someone help me with that meme that says 'I know you are lying but continue' |
