The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has arrested eight tanker drivers for allegedly lifting and transporting suspected illegally refined diesel out of Rivers.

The NSCDC Commandant in Rivers, Abu Tambuwal said this in a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, DSC Olufemi Ayodele on Friday in Port Harcourt.

Tambuwal said the suspects used forged documents to distribute adulterated petroleum products to motorists across the country before they were apprehended. [color=#d7e0c9]Daily Prayers[/color]

“The trucks were intercepted while on transit out of Rivers with petroleum products suspected to be illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (diesel).

“The suspects and their trucks were impounded along Mbiama, a border town between Bayelsa and Delta states.

“Preliminary investigation reveals the suspects presented fake documents that enabled them to beat several security checkpoints along the road.

“They succeeded until they were apprehended by the Anti-vandal Squad of NSCDC Rivers Command,” he said.

Tambuwal said the arrests and seizures were made possible following a tip-off that led to the trailing of the suspects and trucks for over three weeks.

He alleged that the suspects used an already executed Court Auction Order to move trucks loaded with illegally refined petroleum products.

“We will not relent in our commitment to rid the state of all acts of illegal dealings in petroleum products, including oil theft and illegal oil bunkering.

“Operatives have been deployed across all 23 Local Government Areas of the state, and so, it will no longer be business as usual,” he said.

Busayo, the wife of Lanre Gentry, says contrary to what some people think, her husband is no longer bothered about his ex-wife Mercy Aigbe.

She told Saturday Beats, “Whatever happened between them (my husband and Mercy Aigbe) then and now is none of my business. That was a family before mine and they never existed to me. Besides, we all have our different ways of healing. What social media doesn’t know is that people only let you know what they want you to know, and my husband doesn’t just act without a reason. Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad has said President Muhammadu Buhari has never interfered in judicial cases.

“In all your years in office, at no time, no moment did Mr. President or any other person from you attempt to talk or ask for favors from the courts.

“We can recall no such attempt by you or anyone on your behalf to interfere with judicial decisions”, he stated Thursday night.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has taken into custody Eberechukwu, the wife of the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano.

The former Anambra First Lady, who has been under investigation, is currently in the custody of the commission in Abuja.

It was learnt that Mrs Obiano was being questioned for alleged fraud.

Mrs Obiano caused a stir after she became involved in a brawl with a former Nigerian ambassador to Spain and wife of Biafra warlord, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, during the swearing-in of Prof Chukwuma Soludo as Anambra State Governor on March 17.

She is seeking to contest in the 2023 elections to represent Anambra North District at the Senate under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

Her arrest is coming about a month after her husband was apprehended at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, as he attempted to leave for the United States, hours after handing over to his successor, Soludo.

He was subsequently moved to Abuja the following day and quizzed over the alleged diversion of N37 billion security vote and N5bn SURE-P fund.

The EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said he was not aware of Mrs Obiano’s arrest and promised to find out but he did not respond to further inquiries.

Osinachi’s death: Actress calls for revocation of medical licenses of Pastor Paul Enenche, wife]

Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha, has called for the medical licenses of Pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Gospel Center and his wife, Becky, to be revoked after the death of gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu.

DAILY POST reports that Osinachi died after a fight with her husband who had allegedly dehumanized her severally.

The husband, Peter Nwachukwu, has since been arrested by the FCT Police Command.

Meanwhile, Pastor Enenche’s name has been dragged on social media for allegedly failing to advise Osinachi, who was a music minister in the church, to leave her marriage following the violence.

The pastor, who has kept mum on the incident, however, on Monday, posted a video on his official Facebook page where he was captured advising youths to stay away from partners with signs of violence.

The cleric said, “That man that can slap you during courtship can kill you in marriage.”
