The All Progressives Congress, APC, has submitted the full list of its senatorial candidates to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The Majority Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, is seeking for re-election to the Senate. He served as Governor of Abia State from 1999-2007.

Godswill Akpabio, the former Governor of Akwa-Ibom State from 2007-2015 was in the 8th Assembly. He lost his re-election bid but was compensated with Ministerial slot, a position he resigned from to contest for Presidential ticket of the APC.

Danjuma Goje, despite the supremacy battle with Governor Inuwa Yahaya, has gotten a nod to recontest Gombe Central Senatorial District election.

Mr Goje served as Gombe State governor from 2003 to 2011. He was first elected to the Senate in 2011 and re-elected in 2015 and 2019.

Kabiru Gaya served as Governor of Kano State in the third republic from 1992 to 1993.

He has been in the Senate since 2007 and has gotten the nod to recontest Kano South Senatorial District.

Tanko Almakura was the governor of Nasarawa State from 2011-2015. He moved to the Senate in 2015 after his tenure as governor.

In March, Mr Almakura sought to transit to party administration when he contested the position of National Chairman of the APC. He, however, stepped down for Abdulahi Adamu.

Gbenga Dainel was a former Governor of Ogun State. Mr Daniel served as governor of his state from 2003-2011. The former Governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wamako also got a nod to re-contest Sokoto North senatorial district. He was governor from 2007-2015.

Ibrahim Geidam, the former governor of Yobe State also got the nod of the APC to recontest Yobe East senatorial district. He was governor from 2011 to 2019.

Abdulaziz Yari, the former Governor of Zamfara State, won the 2019 election to the Senate. However, a court decision disqualified all APC candidates in the election.

For the past 4 years, he has been engaging in supremacy battle with his successor, Bello Matawella. Mr Yari got the senatorial ticket as part of the political compromise between himself and the governor.

Mr Yari was governor from 2011-2019.

Governor Abubakar Bagudu will be rounding off his second term next year, and he is seeking to be at the Red Chamber by representing Kebbi Central

Former Governor Adamu Aliero, who currently represents that district, has decamped to the PDP after he was denied the return ticket.

Sani Bello the governor of Niger State will also be completing his tenure by 2023. Like some of his colleagues, his eyes are set on Red Chamber.

He is seeking to represent Niger North in the upper chamber.

David Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi State, contested the APC presidential election. However, he lost to the eventual winner.

He has decided to fall back on Senate as option B.

Mr Umahi is seeking to represent Ebonyi South Senatorial District.

Choose a career in the right industry
Simply put, "e get some kind work wey I no fit do."

I'm a very calculative person, I was kinda selective during my early days because I knew where the money was. I also understand that you have to start little, but no matter how little please don't settle for the low tier industries.

You will be behind in all facets of life, trust me on this one.

Competence
Nobody in life except your parents will be attracted to you if you don't have anything to bring to the table. Organizations will beg to have you and also dance to your terms when you have the right skill set to get the job done.

Under this point, I'll also add smartwork and personal development.

Networking with the right people
Do not hide under a rock, simply put do not hide behind your desk from January to December.

Go out and meet the people you exchange emails with, put names to faces. Have their whatsApp numbers and connect. They know you're competent, they'll be more than happy to have you on their team or strongly refer you .

You must jump ships
Make I use pidgin talk this one, dem no dey stay one place rise to the top. The people you met there will suppress you.

The people I left in my former places of work cannot lace my shoes right now. Please I am not bragging, I'm just stating the facts.

Jumping ships attract at least 40-60% and sometimes 100%+ salary increase and also position. So you decide where you'll pitch your tent.

The first 2 points will help you jump ships at your own will and terms.

On the other hand, don't jump ships too often.

The BIG God factor
As a Christian, I cannot overemphasize this. You're not the most hardworking or brilliant mind out there, in my career journey I see people with higher qualifications than me that are way behind and I ask myself many questions.

It will pay you to run with the grace of God, believe me on this one. I attend some interviews and I ask myself if this is an interview or a hangout. There was one I attended the top two officers were asking and answering themselves questions that was meant for me .

Or how do you explain when you'll put all your life problems in your salary demand (which is higher than the industry standard by 30% or so) and the company will agree 100%. Last I checked you're not the only one in the market.

I'm still on my journey, but I just feel led to share this to encourage someone out there.

The Minister of Information and Culture Lai Mohammed has said that it would be left to President Muhammadu Buhari to decide what happens to ministers who declared interest in elective offices but later backed out.

Addressing State House correspondents after the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday, Lai said he will need to return to the President to know the fate of the ministers.

“The other question about ministers returning or not going, I think you need to give me more time so that I can tell you exactly what the situation is,” he said during the briefing.

“Right now, I need to cross-check. I need to confirm again from Mr President what the situation is. You see the final decision on who is going, who’s coming back, who’s not going lies with Mr president,” he added.

President Buhari had directed members of his cabinet, who seek elective public offices in the 2023 poll to resign.

Nine ministers had declared their intention to run for President but some of them later rescinded their decision.

Meanwhile, Lai Mohammed also said there was no plan to ban Facebook operations in Nigeria.

Twenty passengers of two commercial vehicles were on Tuesday confirmed burnt to death in an accident which occurred at Huturu Village on Bauchi-Kano road.

Making the confirmation in a statement made available to journalists in Bauchi, the Bauchi State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Yusuf Abdullahi, informed that 21 persons were in the two commercial vehicles, while 20 were killed and the driver of one of the vehicles survived the crash. According to him, a Volkswagen Golf 3, with registration number SHD-184YU, collided with a Sharon minibus conveying passengers and goods.

Abdullahi informed that 11 males, five females, one male child and three female children were burnt to ashes in the accident, adding that the surviving driver was taken to the Kafin Madaki Hospital.

The remains of those burnt beyond recognition, he stated, were buried at Huturu village.

“The accident was caused by a speed violation. It happened at about 11:30 am on Tuesday at Huturu Village, along Bauchi to Kano road. Our men got the report at about 11:38 am and we got to the scene at about 11:50 am. A driver was injured, and 20 others were killed and burnt to ashes.

“They include; 11 males, five females, one male child and three female children. The injured driver was taken to Kafin Madaki Hospital while the dead passengers were buried at Huturu village,” the sector commander stated

He, however, warned drivers to avoid overspeeding, adding that they must always drive moderately to keep their lives and the passengers’ safe.

A Peoples Democratic Party presidential aspirant, Nyesom Wike, has promised to wade into a legal tussle that led to the incarceration of Yunusa Dahiru, a.k.a Yellow, jailed in Bayelsa State.

A Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, had, in 2020, sentenced Dahiru to 26 years imprisonment for child trafficking and sexual exploitation of Ese Oruru.

Dahiru, in 2015, abducted Oruru in Bayelsa State, brought her to Kano State and allegedly forcefully married and impregnated her.

The Rivers State Governor, who made the pledge in Kano in response to a request by the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kano State chapter, Shehu Sagagi, asked for details to enable him make an informed decision. Daily Prayers

Wike, in response, requested details of the case file and assured the Kano PDP stalwarts of his readiness to do everything possible within the ambit of the law to serve justice.

I run a school and by the grace of God a parent. From the whole issue, the parent has more of the blame. They dont know their daughter and they should look inward as that girl has been doing this for long. Even when confronted about the video, report says she wasnt remorseful about it. On the part of the school, they should have called it out immediately it got to their hearing and expelled all involved. May God help us not to fail in our responsibility as parents and caregivers

The blame should be shared amongst the parents and the school authorities. Now it's not all training that can be done by the parents, hence one reason parents send their kids to school to train them both in learning and character. The major culprits in this saga are the chaperones/teachers who didn't take proper watch of the kids while they were in Dubai.. The school also failed to take responsibility for their failure in Dubai. The teachers should have been sacked and state it in their report.

It took a month for her parents to find out what happened. The mom got the truth out of the child by beating it out after she first denied out of fear of the threat.
Parents pls try and bond with your kids, learn to study them and their behavioral pattern. If this girl was free at all with her parents, they would be the first she will call immediately this happened. She had a phone, assuming they talk regularly. Not one family member knew about this. Madam rest in Jesus name. My question to you is, how and where did a little girl like dat learn how to ride a man at that little age? With all due respect MA, you failed that little girl. Focus on redirecting dat girl cos she has gone astray. Lest I forget, pls can u remove dat rape from the story cos she obviously wasn't raped but had a consented sex.

Parents wake up, school is where your children go to mix with other children from other homes, probably where everything goes.
Putting a child in school is not enough, you have to watch them.
These children learn a lot from school, both good and bad.
Whatever you do do not neglect any child around you or think they are to young to learn what you practice around them.

I would rather work for 10k than beg for 10million.

That way I'll chop my 10k proudly and nobody will have the opportunity to insult me.
