Golden Eaglets coach, Manu Garba has lamented as the team is yet to receive funds for preparation less than one month to the West Africa Zone B U17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in Niger Republic.

According to AllNigeriaSoccer report, the compulsory MRI tests have not yet been conducted, the players live in deplorable conditions and are ill due to a malaria attack.

''We have been clamoring for it for long. The NFF has given approval for the MRI test but unfortunately we are still waiting for money to be released so that the MRI can hold,'' Manu Garba said.

''No matter how good or how young a player is, once he doesn't pass the MRI he cannot take part in the competition.

''When the MRI is conducted we will know who is eligible to participate in the competition so we are worried.

''The NFF should try and make it to be conducted during the week so that we can know those who are eligible for us.''

Manu Garba has also carpeted the Nigerian Federation over the nonpayment of bonuses and allowances to the technical crew.

''MRI is the major problem but the players themselves are not staying in a good condition. Most of the players have been down with malaria.

''With the number of players we have, we cannot take all of them to the hotel, that's why I said MRI is our greatest problem.

''After the MRI, we reduce it to a sizeable number like 30 or 35 that can go to the hotel for maximum concentration.

''Secondly, since we entered the camp, there have been no allowances to the coaches, so we need the NFF to look into that aspect so that it can motivate us to do more,'' he concluded.

In their latest friendlies, the Golden Eaglets, who didn't qualify for the 2017 Fifa U17 World Cup, beat Siaone Academy and Derby FC 3-0 and 4-0 respectively.

A Nigerian football coach, Sunny Supremo Chukwu popularly known as ‘Jangaza Supremo’ is dead. He passed away in his sleep early morning of yesterday.

Before his death, the veteran coach was the Head manager of N-WL1 side, Lamray United F.C.

It was gathered that the coach complained of heart ache after training yesterday night. Many of his colleagues and other footballers have taken to social media to mourn his sad death:

Adaobi Juliet Emeka wrote: "It's just so sad that after all our struggles in life we still end up six feet below.

I am still in shock of your death. We spoke just some days back and now I can't believe that you are no more.

For decades, veteran musician, Tony Tetuila, had given Nigerians and the world a reason to dance with his hit tunes like, ‘My Car,’ ‘Omode Meta,’ but to mention a few. But during the week, the singer was thrown into mourning with the death of his mother whom he has always referred to as his pillar of support.

In an interview with Saturday Beats, the singer said that as a child, his mother had always known that he would be successful and ensured he lived long enough to witness his destiny.

He said, “God just wants me to be alive till date and that is why I did not die when I was a kid. I was poisoned as a kid and after that, I had leg injury. Who knows maybe they wanted me to become a cripple but God did not allow their wish to come to pass. When my mother told me the story, she said that there was a time I could not walk and I had to crawl on the floor with my chest just to move.

“My mother said all of a sudden, I stood up again. She told me that she always knew I was going to be known all over the world. She said that was why I was attacked as a child. I forgive whoever disturbed me when I was young. I had since forgiven them. I thank God and my mother for the gift of life.

“My early days were rough even though I am from a fairly comfortable family. However, no matter how wonderful your background is, once you are from a polygamous home, there is really nothing you can do. I just believe that my being alive today and what I eventually turned out to be in the society is destined by God. There were people that were richer than my father but they eventually lost their lives, however, I just believe everything was destined by God. Regardless of how holy you act or seem, there are still some people that would say bad things about you but I have learnt how to turn the bad things people say about me into prayer.”

The singer told Saturday Beats that because of his experience growing up in a polygamous home, he has vowed never to venture into polygamy. “I can never marry two wives. I cannot have a child outside of my marriage. I have a wife and three children. I have admirers who compliment me every time I step out but I make sure I do not get carried away because two wives equal more problems. Two wives, two troubles; there are girls that would admire you but do not allow that to get into your head or else you lose your respect,” he said.

Actor and film producer, Kunle Afolayan shared with Saturday Beats the major reasons why he enrolled his eight-year-old son as an apprentice in a mechanic workshop. The actor had shared a video of his son Darimisire spending his holiday in a mechanic workshop. The video got a lot of positive reactions from his fans on social media.

In a chat with Saturday Beats, the Figurine director revealed why he wants his son to learn a vocation in addition to his academic studies.

He said, “Children of this generation may think they are having fun because they didn’t experience what some of us experienced but they are caged. Most of their life is spent either in front of television or the computer game. My children are a bit different; they are not addicted to anything. Even the most senior one who has a phone, most times I force him to pick the phone because he doesn’t stay on it.

“I also want him to learn how to interact with people outside the house and learn how to speak Yoruba so that when he is back in school, he will understand that life has different sides and not everybody is privileged to have what he has,” he added.

Afolayan who just launched a clothing line said that he never thought he would go into fashion industry.

“I never planned to have a clothing line; I like to be different, so I decided to use the Adire fabric to improve on the kembes I bought in India. After I designed and made some for myself, people liked it; that was why I decided to make a business out of it.”

The producer also shared how sad he feels about the challenges the Nigerian movie industry is currently facing.

“It’s sad that even after many years, we are still talking about the challenges in the movie industry. I saw an interview my father granted in 1980 titled: ‘The problems in the Nigerian Film Industry,’ so you can imagine if after almost forty years we are still discussing challenges.

“We don’t have a proper distribution framework that gives the proper return on investment in movies. We also lack adequate capacity building; I haven’t shot any film in two years because return is not guaranteed except if you get distribution outside Nigeria.”

Romelu Lukaku enjoyed the final stages of his post-World Cup break by spending time with music superstars and fellow Roc Nation duo Jay-Z and DJ Khaled after a show in the United States.


The Manchester United striker met the pair backstage on Thursday evening at the latest instalment of Jay-Z and Beyonce’s ‘On the Run II Tour' at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Lukaku took to social media to post a video of himself embracing Jay-Z with the message 'dreams come true', while a picture alongside DJ Khaled was captioned: 'This guy spreads only positivity. Nothing but more blessings to you.'



'See you soon man, keep doing it and we'll talk,' Jay-Z said during the meeting.

Lukaku became the first Premier League player to join Jay-Z's management agency Roc Nation Sports earlier this year, joining Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng in addition to a host of NFL, MLB and NBA stars including the likes of Kevin Durant, Todd Gurley and Saquon Barkley.

The talent stable originated as Roc Nation, an entertainment company, before branching out into the world of sport in 2013.

Lukaku has been on holiday since scoring four goals to help Belgium finish third at the World Cup in Russia and ending the tournament in a five-way tie for second place in the running for the Golden Boot.

He was initially set to miss United's 2018/19 Premier League opener against Leicester at Old Trafford on August 10, but, along with England duo Marcus Rashford and Phil Jones, agreed to cut short his vacation by three days in order to help the team.


'We start the Premier League in nine days, and these are the players that we have plus (Victor) Lindelof, who started training two days ago, Marcus Rashford, Phil Jones and Lukaku because they gave to the group and to the team three days of their holidays,' Jose Mourinho said in Miami earlier this week.

'They are coming back three days early to try and be available for the team. And with the fantastic spirit we have in the majority of the players – I repeat, in the majority of the players – we have a fantastic spirit, we go with everything we have to the Premier League.'

Super Eagles forward, Ahmed Musa, 25, has joined Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr on a four-year deal from Leicester City.
Al-Nassr announced this morning that he had signed a four-year contract but did not disclose the transfer fee.

According to unconfirmed reports, Leicester City received a fee of £14.8m with several add-ons, which will see the deal rise to as high as £25m. The deal is expected to make him the highest-paid Nigerian footballer when the transfer fee is revealed.

The Super Eagles forward was the Foxes' record signing when he moved to the King Power for £16.6million in 2016, but struggled for playing time and was loaned back to his old club CSKA Moscow for part of last season.

The Super Falconets have arrived in France for the FIFA U-2O Women’s World Cup, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The team, comprising of 21 players and 11 officials arrived their base in Saint Malo on Thursday evening.

They arrived from Austria where they under went a 12-day training programme.

Chris Danjuma’s charges have now joined fellow Group D rivals, Haiti and Germany who arrived earlier on Thursday and are based in Brittany City.

The Super Falconets will face Germany in their opening fixture at the Stade de Marville,Saint Malo on Monday, August 6.

Their second game is against Haiti at the same venue on Thursday August 9.

They will take on China in their final group game on Monday, August 13 at the Stade de Clos Gastel, Lehon Dinah.

The competition will run from August 5 to August 24.

Juventus forward, Paulo Dybala, has bid farewell to Gonzalo Higuain, as he finalises a move to AC Milan.

Higuain is expected to join the Rossoneri on an initial one-year loan deal worth €18million, after undergoing a medical on Thursday.

The 31-year-old will make the switch alongside defender Mattia Caldara, with Leonardo Bonucci heading in the opposite direction.

Dybala has been Higuain’s strike partner throughout his two seasons in Turin, but now he will team up with Cristiano Ronaldo in the Juve team, while his compatriot seeks to impress at San Siro.

KAA Gent, the Belgian club of Nigerian winger, Moses Simon have declared that he must leave the club this summer.


Moses has been told to look for another club before the transfer window closes later this month or rot in the reserves.


Belgian newspaper, Het Laatste Nieuws reports that Moses is no longer needed in Gent’s first team, which contains 38 players.


The Super Eagles star is the architect of his own problem as he had earlier approached Gent board and demanded he wanted to be transferred this summer.

Harrysong is far from pleased with Kizz Daniel as he has made it known in a new interview with Sunday Scoop.

The singer via his manager Desmond Ike, opened up on why he had to record another version of his song Selense now featuring Dices Ailes and Iyanya.

“It wasn’t about what Kizz Daniel said on the song; there is nothing out of place about it.


When you do something with people and they don’t make it easy for you, you have to look for a way to sort yourself out.
Harrysong originally did the song with Reekado Banks and Kizz Daniel but at a point, Daniel said he didn’t want to star in the video because Reekado would be in it.
He said he didn’t want to have anything to do with Reekado. We tried to sort out the issue between both of them so that we could shoot the video but Daniel refused vehemently; he didn’t want any reconciliation.


Because of that, we decided to do another version of the song with Iyanya and Dice Ailes. Kizz Daniel was just being arrogant about the whole thing and behaving like he is a demigod.”


Ike continued saying;

“We don’t really know the issue between them but it must be a long-standing feud. He said he didn’t want to be on any song that Reekado was featured on. He refused all our entreaties.”



On if Kizz Daniel wasn’t aware that Reekado Banks was featured on the song when he recorded his verse, the manager said;

“They recorded their verses separately. The moment he realised that Banks was on the song was when he started saying he didn’t want to be a part of it anymore.
We initially thought it was something we could resolve amicably as friends in the industry but Daniel insisted that he didn’t want to be part of it.
He frustrated every move to reconcile them. Kizz Daniel even made the song to be pulled from iTunes, claiming that he did not give his consent for his voice to be used; that was how far he went. We had to choice but to look for a way out.”
“Right now, the song is doing very well on the charts. That shows that no one is indispensable. Everybody likes the new version. We have done all we were supposed to do and we have moved on. We cannot beg Daniel because Harrysong is bigger than all that,” he added.

She said she’s more comfortable to be referred to as a ‘Queen’, and has no interest being a King or called one. According to her: “If you call me a king, does that make my man a queen? Prolific actor and filmmaker, Saidi Balogun, the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, have rolled out plans to partner the Brazilian government in shooting a movie to promote the Yoruba culture.


The decision was recently taken when the veteran actor and the Monarch paid a grand visit to Brazil.


In a chat with Potpourri, the versatile thespian said he was shocked to see that Brazilians had embraced the Yoruba culture, traditions and religion.


“I travelled with the Ooni to Brazil to do some cultural things for African people over there, especially the Yorubas. It’s like our father going there to unite them and bring them back to the roots.


“We have about 400 deities in Yoruba land and 200 in Ife. In Brazil they worship Sango and some other gods; they even sing Yoruba songs. They sang the songs for us when we got there. I’m the first actor and movie producer to travel out with the Ooni”, he said.


He added, “The Ooni took me there so we could look for ways to beautify our culture; so that both countries can work together. Movie makers there appreciate our culture. I was surprised to see how they love and embrace our culture. So we are trying to work together with the government to produce a movie in that regard”, he said.

The duo had a misunderstanding after the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Yomi Shogunle claimed the rapper who is an advocate of EndSARS has stopped advocating for EndSARS.

Ruggedman has apologized to the police officer for their misunderstanding, saying he has missed their friendship.

Sadio Mane will wear the No.10 shirt for Liverpool for the 2018-19 season.
The Senegal international has switched from his previous number, 19, which he has worn since joining the club from Southampton in 2016, ahead of the new campaign.

The 2018 African Player of the Year will not be unveiled in Lagos, Abuja or Accra; thus breaking a long tradition of the ceremony, with Dakar set to host the event next year.
Per SenegalFootball, President of the Senegalese FA, Augustin Senghor, announced on Friday, that the AiteoCAF awards will hold on January 8, 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.

“The Head of State (Macky Sall), who received in audience the President of the African Confederation of Football, Ahmad, this Thursday, has agreed that our capital is home to this important event of the continental football”, Senghor said.

“They had already talked about it in Moscow at the World Cup. And this audience has come to confirm everything, “added Augustin Senghor.

He said he was asked to head a “sub-committee” responsible for organizing the ceremony of handing over the African Ballon d’Or in Dakar.

Nigeria [Lagos and Abuja] and Ghana [Accra] have hosted the majority of the gala night, but Senghor also disclosed that the gala will now be rotated among Africa’s famous Cities.

“It is a great honor for our country and for Senegalese football to organize this event. Moreover, it was decided that the event will rotate in other African cities after its holding in Dakar ”, continued the president of the FSF.

Real Madrid has officially Vinicius Junior after the Brazilian officially completed his move to the Spanish capital.


Vinicius initially agreed on a move to Real Madrid last summer but was unable to complete the transfer until the youngster turns 18.

Teenage goalkeeper Nicolas Tie has signed a professional contract with Chelsea.

The 17-year-old joined the Premier League club last summer from amateur French side Poitiers after being linked to them for years and went on to feature for the Blues' Under 18 team.

After a year in London, the Lille native has now committed to his first senior contract, which sees him tied to the Stamford Bridge side until 2021.

The Blues' first-choice keeper, Thibaut Courtois, is reportedly considering a move back to Spain, with Real Madrid said to be interested.

Mesut Ozil Inherits Jersey No 10 For Arsenal Following Wilshere Exit.

Mesut Ozil has been handed the No 10 shirt at Arsenal for the upcoming season following the departure of Jack Wilshere.
The German midfielder has worn No 11 since joining the club in 2013 but will now switch. The announcement was made on the club'sTwitter account on Tuesday alongside the message '#M10'.

The jersey was previously occupied by Wilshere, who has now left the Emirates Stadium following the expiration of his contract.

Greek international Sokratis Papastathopoulos has joined us on a long-term contract for an undisclosed fee.


The 30-year-old arrives from Borussia Dortmund, where he won two Bundesliga titles and one German Cup. The hugely-experienced defender lists Werder Bremen, AC Milan, Genoa and AEK Athens among his previous clubs.

However, in an encounter with Sunday Scoop, Seyi Shay rubbished the reports, saying that she shared a long history with Vector even before they became known musicians. She said;



“I have a long and exciting history with Vector before the music and movie. He was one of the reasons I stayed in Nigeria to do music. When I first came to Nigeria, he was the first friend I made in the music industry. He really helped me understand the Nigerian music and told me things I didn’t know at a time. I featured him on the remix of Irawo. I am happy it was him I played a movie role with. It was very easy working with him because I know him well. I don’t know anything about being in a relationship with Vector, but I definitely think Lara and the Beat is a movie worth watching because we both share a strong chemistry.”



Taking a break from music to feature in the forthcoming movie, she admitted that she feared she might lose her relevance. She stated;



“To play the movie role, I abandoned my music career for about two months as the hours on set were very long. I couldn’t go to shows neither could I record songs. I lost money but I made a great movie. However, I was extremely worried that the break could make me lose my fans but it didn’t. Acting in a movie has added to my profile and brand. When the movie comes out, it will boost my popularity.”



Speaking on her recent cozy pictures with Kiss Daniel, which also ignited dating rumors, she said;

Jordan’s King Abdullah II set off for the United States yesterday for talks with President Donald Trump on Middle East issues including the stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace process, the palace said.


Accompanied by his wife Rania, the monarch is also scheduled to meet with senior officials from the Trump administration and members of Congress, the palace said in a statement.

His meeting with Trump is expected to take place at the White House on Monday, though he is already in the country.

The White House said in a statement that they would “discuss issues of mutual concern, including terrorism, the threat from Iran and the crisis in Syria, and working towards a lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians.”

Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has finally addressed rumours claiming that he has dropped Onazi Ogenyi, as the vice-captain of the team.

There are speculations after Onazi allegedly had a fight with captain, John Mikel Obi, just before the start of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, Rohr who is yet to use the Trabzonspor midfielder at the tournament, explained that he has one captain and several vice-captains in his squad. “What I have already said to some of your colleagues (journalists) is that it’s not true.
What’s happening is that we have one captain and several vice captains. There’s one condition to be vice captain. The first condition to be vice captain is to play, if you’re on the bench, the captain is coming out like it happened in our last game and Onazi is not in the game, he can’t be vice captain.”he said.

He continued: “We have several vice captains. Onazi was not on the pitch. So I cannot say Onazi is the vice captain when he is on the bench. If Ahmed is on the bench, Onazi is on the pitch but Balogun is on the pitch he is the vice captain. We have one captain and committee of players who can be vice captain,” he said.
