Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale leads the list of individual-prize winners at the just-ended 2018 Fifa Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

His three goals contributed to his side’s triumph at the competition after they smashed Al Ain 4-1 in the final on Saturday.

The win meant the Spanish side have now won the crown thrice in a bounce with the Fifa Technical Study Group (TSG) naming the Welsh man as the Player of the Tournament.

Former Super Eagles Defender, Taribo West has just made a shocking confession recently. The ex-footballer has just revealed that during his football career days he used juju to play on the field.


The ex-footballer turned pastor said he had a manager from Senegal and his manager would take him to several native doctors in Senegal where they will cut his tongue, hands and legs and then cook it.

He said,

“I spend most of my time at home meditating. All I want to do is to keep spreading the gospel. In my own little way, I have been into evangelisation visiting places like Ughelli and within the Orile community, Ajegunle and so on. God has been kind during these visits to preach the gospel to people who are yet to receive Christ. We believe He will take us globally very soon.


Taribo revealed that his move to Europe found him entangled in another life of charms and superstitious beliefs.

With a new-found life of affluence, the defender paid huge sums of money for him to be supplied charms to win games, protect him from career-threatening injuries and also to be foretold the results of matches before they were played.


He used to burn candles and hold a magical stone from Israel before games.

“Of course yes (I was involved). I don’t know why people decline to talk about their involvement with charms. Football has to do with a lot of powers. When there are big events, you look at the stadium, you see people, fans invoking all kinds of things; magicians are there, voodooists are there.

“In my playing days, when I was ignorant, I used to get some mallams and babalawos (traditional doctors) to make charms for us, which we took to (national) camp. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t.

“In some clubs, before every game, the president or leader of the club will give you a lucky charm to play with. They will tell you to put it in your boots or socks and play. It’s their superstitious belief; that it can help them win matches.

“There are some coaches who are connected to African magicians and soothsayers from Senegal, Burkina Faso, Zaire or even Nigeria. These people are consulted to give these coaches results of games even before the matches are played.

“These people see strange things and they can tell you with their magic and charms, what the outcome of a match will be. People believe and use it. It works for those who believe in it. I saw it, I experienced it, I was with players that used it and I used it. So, why are people denying it? There are charms and rituals in football. It still exists.”

Taribo gave his life to Christ after meeting Patience Ikemefuna, an evangelist who lives in America marking a new phase in the 1996 Olympic Games gold medallist’s life.

Jose Mourinho has released a statement in the aftermath of his Manchester United departure, praising the people around the club while asking the media to give him space until his return to football.

Mourinho was dismissed by the club on Tuesday, ending his Red Devils tenure halfway through his third year in charge.

The Portuguese manager was stopped by reporters earlier on Wednesday, saying that he and the club will survive without the other after his dismissal.

He has been replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who will take charge of the team on an interim basis until the end of the season.

"I have been immensely proud to wear the badge of Manchester United since the first day I arrived, and I believe all United supporters recognise this," Mourinho said in his statement.

"Just as was the case with my previous clubs, I have worked with some wonderful people and I believe that some will be my friends for life.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has signed a new contract with LA Galaxy that ties him to the club for the 2019 MLS season.

The former Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan forward will become a Designated Player for the upcoming campaign, meaning the Galaxy will have to buy down or sell either Giovani dos Santos, Romain Alessandrini or Jonathan dos Santos.

The Swede took to Twitter on Monday to confirm that he would return in 2019 while also firing a shot at his doubters in his typical fashion.

Ibrahimovic scored 22 goals in just 27 MLS appearances after joining from United last March but was unable to guide the team into the playoffs.

"We are very pleased to sign Zlatan to a new contract that will see him return for the 2019 season," said Dennis te Kloese, who was appointed general manager last week.

"He showed his value last season and we look forward to him representing our club next year. With Zlatan returning, we will continue to improve our team in advance of the season."

The forward had previously been linked with a return to AC Milan, but manager Gennaro Gattuso says that, although there was "a chance", he never spoke with the forward.

Nigeria remain in the 44th position in the world but moved up to the fifth spot in Africa on the November Fifa ranking.

Back-to-back stalemates in the month under review ensured that the three-time African champions remain stagnant on the spot they attained last month.

Gernot Rohr’s men got 1427 points after a 1-1 stalemate against South Africa in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers - although the result was enough to help them seal their place in the tournament in Cameroon - and a goalless draw with Uganda in a friendly game.

However, the west African moved to the fourth spot, having been ranked fifth in October behind Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco who are 23rd, 26th and 40th in the world respectively.

Congo DR are fifth, while Ghana, Cameroon, Egypt, Burkina Faso and Mali make up the top 10 African countries.

Super Eagles Captain, John Mikel Obi, has stated that he will return to the national team and hopefully be at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2019.

The 31-year-old has been missing in action for the senior team since his last appearance for the country at the Russia 2018 World Cup.

He missed the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) doubleheader qualifier against Seychelles and the Mediterranean Knights of Libya as he was excused from the team after only recently recovering from injury,

Mikel also missed the AFCON qualifier with South Africa on November 17 and a friendly tie against Uganda three days later despite playing for his club that weekend.

His absence has since attracted different speculations if he had quietly quit the national football.

However, on Sunday while answering questions at the launch of his Mikel Obi Foundation said he is on a break.

“A lot has been said about my absence in the national team. I think if you have been doing something for a very long time, you will definitely ask for a little break. And that’s what I have been on, I have been on break. I am not tired yet, think the day I will retire, I will let everyone know before I make the statement, Mikel said.

Mikel disclosed that he needs to be 100 per cent fit and have the right motivation to be ready to be at AFCON and he is working to achieving that.

“I am happy to see how the team is doing well without me which is very good so that when I retire, I leave the team in very good hands. I am happy now, we have qualified for the nations cup, so we’ll see what happens,” Mikel said.

Born in Jos, Plateau State, the superstar made his debut for Nigeria in 2005 against Libya in a friendly game. He has played for Nigeria at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments, three FIFA World Cups and won an Olympic Bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic games.

Neymar and Kylian Mbappe are 100 per cent and ready to face Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday, according to Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel.






The pair both sustained injuries during the international break for their respective countries, with Neymar suffering a strained right adductor featuring for Brazil against Cameron, while Mbappe bruised his shoulder playing for France against Uruguay.



Their statuses for the big clash at the Parc des Princes were doubtful and both missed PSG's 1-0 victory over Toulouse last weekend.

However, the pair returned to training Monday, and now Tuchel has confirmed the pair are set to feature in the key Group C contest.

When asked if the pair could be in any danger of aggravating their injuries, Tuchel said there was "no risk" involved in the duo playing.

PSG enter Wednesday's match hoping to both avenge their 3-2 loss at Anfield in the group stage opener, but also put themselves in a prime position to qualify for the knockout round.

The Ligue 1 leaders currently sit a point behind Liverpool and Napoli in the group standings and a victory would leave them no worse than second with their finale to come against Red Star Belgrade on December 11.

However, a loss Wednesday would see them potentially eliminated from the competition.

Given the struggles of PSG in the Champions League, the prospect adds even more pressure to an already high-profile match between a pair of Europe's big clubs.

And Tuchel hopes to strike a balance between being focused, but not being overly tense due to the stakes.

"Fear? No I don't fear anything, but I definitely feel the pressure in every match," Tuchel said. "This match is even more special. It's very important, tomorrow is definitely going to be decisive and I feel the pressure inside me. But it's my pressure, not reflecting on the players.

"There is a possibility that we don't win. It's very important tomorrow that we think about winning. The focus is about winning and what we should do to win. It's very important that we play together, and do not lose focus. Bigger the game, bigger the pressure.


"The more pressure you have, the less information you should give. We have to be relaxed. Nobody can control the result, and no matter what the result is tomorrow, the sun will shine the day after and we will get out of bed and go to work."

31-year-old Super Eagles captain, John Obi Mikel, has re-launched his foundation to discover talents across Africa.

Mikel who currently plays for Chinese Super League side, Tianjin TEDA, held a football clinic with about 150 boys and girls at the Children’s International School in Lekki, Lagos, between the ages of 3-15 years.


It was gathered that the clinic which was held in Lagos on Sunday, November 25, afforded the youngsters the chance to receive first hand coaching.

Mikel first launched the charity in the 2012, and 6-years later has reintroducing the foundation to discover young sporting talents.

The kids from the Little Tigers Football Club also got to enjoy the privilege of having a kick-about with the former Chelsea midfielder.


While speaking at the football clinic, Mikel said; "My foundation is about the kids, I’m giving back to the community, to Nigeria, home is where it all started for me and I will always want to give back to Nigeria.

"I want to get it right this time. It’s been there and I think now is the right time to come out and do it properly.

"This is the time, this is the right time to do things for kids and not we have enough to make sure it is successful."

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr believes Kelechi Iheanacho is suffering from ‘lack of self-confidence’.

The forward who started his senior international career brightly, scoring seven goals in 11 appearances has failed to find the net for the three-time African champions since November 2017.

German tactician has backed the former Manchester City prodigy to rediscover his confidence for Leicester and make an impact for the Super Eagles in Cameroon.

"We have all seen how Iheanacho has been playing for the national team. He is a good player and his fighting spirit is exceptional," Rohr told media.

"But of late, his form has dropped. So also has his self-confidence, which is very low. And when you lack self-confidence you cannot score goals.

"He missed what would have been our first goal in South Africa. But I believe it is a temporary set-back .

Barcelona have confirmed injuries sustained by both Rafinha and Sergi Roberto, the former rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, while the latter will be out for three to four weeks with a leg injury.



Roberto, who started Saturday's crunch clash with Atletico Madrid – a match which ended 1-1 – dropped to the ground moments before half time, clutching his leg, and was replaced for the second half.



The Blaugrana have since confirmed that the 26-year-old has ruptured his semimembranosus, one of the three muscles that make up the hamstring.

French club Bordeaux has raised an alarm over the continued absence of forward Samuel Kalu who has failed to return from Super Eagles duty.


Kalu played two games for the Super Eagles in the last international break of the year and was instrumental in Nigeria’s 1-1 draw against South Africa on Saturday, November 17 which sealed their qualification to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

He also played some minutes in Nigeria’s goalless draw against Uganda on Tuesday.


After his international duties, however, the 21-year-old has failed to return to France to join up with his club.

According to Bordeaux, the forward failed to show up in training on Thursday, November 22.

“We have no news (on Kalu), he should have been there this (Thursday) morning. It’s a delayed return of to the team,” Bordeaux manager Eric Bedouet said.


Bordeaux are preparing to face Dijon in the Ligue 1 on Saturday, November 24 and Kalu could be benched for that clash or sent to the reserves as punishment.

Kalu joined Bordeaux this summer from Gent and has managed just one goal in 10 appearances so far this season.

Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, is reportedly set to become the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world by joining Paris St-Germain in the summer when his contract expires at Old Trafford.

According to a report by Mail Online Football, De Gea, 28, has been stalling on signing a new Manchester United deal in the knowledge that a bumper £300,000-a-week is on offer at PSG, who could get round any Financial Fair Play restrictions by selling Neymar to Real Madrid and building their team exclusively around Kylian Mbappe.

The publication also claimed that the Spain international could be set to earn around £15.5m a year in wages with the French giants, taking his potential salary to over £60m if he were to sign a four-year deal in Paris.

PSG are expected to sign a pre-contract agreement with United's No 1 in January.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Stoke City have reacted to Super Eagles qualification for next African Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon.

The three English clubs reserved special praise for their players in the Nigerian squad after they booked a place in Cameroon.

The club followed Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with South Africa at the FNB Stadium because Kenneth Omeruo, Alex Iwobi and Oghenekaro Etebo were on international duty.

Another Chelsea loanee, Ola Aina was omitted from the match day squad and ex-Arsenal U23 captain, Semi Ajayi earned his third cap off the bench as a late replacement for Iwobi.

Drake just opened up about his son, Adonis, in a new interview. He also revealed that he once wanted to have a family with Rihanna.

American rapper Drake just admitted that he once wanted to start a family with Rihanna. “As life takes shape and teaches you your own lessons, I end up in this situation where I don’t have the fairy tale, like, ‘Oh, Drake started a family with Rihanna and this is like so perfect’…it looks so good on paper,” the rapper, 31, said during an interview with LeBron James and Maverick Carter on October 12. “By the way, I wanted that too at one time.”

While Drizzy didn’t end up having kids with the “Wild Thoughts” singer, he did have a son with French artist and former adult film star Sophie Brussaux. In 2017, she gave birth to their son, Adonis, which Drake confirmed was his on his track, “March 14,” off his June 2018 album, Scorpion.

“I have a son, he’s a beautiful boy,” he said as she showed LeBron a photo of the baby on his phone. “Crazy blue eyes, bro,” the NBA star responded. “Crazy blue eyes, baby blue eyes,” Drake said. “You know he’s already in the pool like shooting the basketball. He’s gonna get to a certain age, I’m gonna bring him right to ‘Bron’s house and I’ma be like, ‘Yo, summer camp at Bronny’s house!”

The “God’s Plan” hit maker also opened up about navigating co-parenting with someone he doesn’t really have a relationship with. “I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who, you know, we’ve had our moments,” he said. “I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But I don’t have any desire for him to like not love his mother or I don’t want like, I don’t ever want the world to be angry at his mother. Like, we have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible and now, like, I’m just really excited to be a great father.”

Nollywood actor, Ini Edo has berated the actions of men who make money off jumping from one relationship to another. In an interview with The Sun newspaper, the actress and Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Culture and Tourism says that women have now become more hardworking than men and this is the central theme in a new movie, ‘Heaven on my mind’ she is co-producing with actress, Uche Jombo.


Edo says, “Men of these days are not what they used to be. But the issues are not addressed. Nobody is talking about it. That’s why Uche Jombo and I took that up and made it the theme of our new movie. Ironically, prostitution has reduced drastically. Young girls now go into different kinds of small-scale businesses like makeup, hair dressing and creams making. They now hustle more to make a living but I can’t say the same thing for men. I’m sorry but that’s the truth. For some men, their job is to move around from one woman to another for money. It’s like a full time job for them and nobody is addressing the issue. Don’t get me wrong, not all men do it, but some of them.”


Speaking on why she has chosen to focus more of her energy on production rather than acting, she says, “I’m one of the first actors who started film production in Nigeria and also one of the first to take their movies to cinemas. If you can remember ‘I’ll Take My Chances’, I did it with Emem Isong. The movie gave birth to a new actor, Bryan Okwara. It’s my way of giving back to the industry. I had to tilt towards production of movies to effect the changes I had always wanted to see in the industry. I’m glad I was part of the huge changes we are experiencing now. Another film, ‘Knocking On Heavens Door’, I made sure we used new faces in it. That was how Adesua Etomi and Blossom Chukwujekwu came into acting.


“Aside that, If I am passionate about a story, I don’t mind the money being paid, I’ll go for the job. I’m not particular about money but the story or lessons behind the film.”


‘Heaven On My Mind’ will be in cinemas across Nigeria from December 7, 2018. The highly anticipated movie, which began pre-production in late 2017 and finished filming in March 2018, is the first collaboration between the two talented actors as co-producers.

Ghana Football Normalisation Committee and the sixteen Premier League clubs have agreed that they will not participate in the CAF inter-club competitions for 2019.

The 2018 league season came to an unexpected halt following an expose by journalist Anas Anas detailing how corruption had thrived in the country’s football fraternity.

Before the league halted, Medeama Stars was leading the pack thus in contention for a berth in the CAF Champions League and Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold were chasing a slot in the second tier competition; the CAF Confederations Cup.

The Normalisation Committee held the meeting with the clubs at the Alisa Hotel in Accra on Friday.

Ghana now joins another twelve countries that failed to meet the deadline to submit their respective clubs for CAF competitions. The other nations are Comoros, Eritrea, Guinea Bissau, Mauritius, Sao Tome and Principe as well as Sierra Leone and Somalia Tunisia, Mozambique, Namibia, Benin and Botswana.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly set to be announced as the new Bayern Munich manager as early as tomorrow.
The French tactician’s name has come up in links with a number of elite European clubs in recent weeks, with talk over potential job openings at the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona as well.

Naomi is the Founder/President of En-Heralds - an interdenominal ministry based in Akure, Ondo state. She started public ministry at the age of eighteen and became a full time evangelist in October 2011. She has six siblings and is in her 20s.

Late Baba No Regret who was best known for his television series Omo Araye Le and Bata Wahala, was said to have died shortly after being discharged from the University College Hospital, Ibadan where he had been receiving treatment for multiple ailments including prostate cancer

France and Arsenal football legend, Thierry Henry has officially been unveiled as the new coach of French club, Monaco.

The 41-year-old was unveiled as the new manager of the club at a press conferrence which took place this afternoon.

Speaking at his first press conference since being appointed by the struggling Ligue 1 club, Henry who won seven trophies at Barcelona under Pep Guardiola, said: 'Pep for me is the reference. We learnt how to play the game when I went to Barcelona under him.

'The invention he had in the game; he's well ahead of the game, I saw it closely.

'You learn from people; they inspire you. But you also need to put your own little mix in it.

'Talking about the managers that I had; I learnt with a lot of them, every single one of them. Whether they challenged me, whether sometimes they were doing the wrong stuff; that's when you learn the most - when things are not going well.

'But if I talked about Arsene, Arsene unlocked a lot of stuff in my mind, made me understand what it was to be a professional, what it was to perform. I will never forget that. You know the relationship I had with him so I will always carry some of the stuff that he was doing.

'A lot of people (also) inspired me in France.'
