deols: Pls explain. I had warned him previously.
He's an unrepentant & unintelligent fb scammer, who keeps changing usernames on NL once discovered, the Modes/admin know him better

There is no mix-up, but his style is to start deleting posts that has given him off once they are mentioned, or renaming his threads

BusinessRe: Interested Partners For The Haulage Biz Meet Here by oduz: 10:30am On Aug 03, 2013
@ spat, evanstical, fellow compatriots

Kudos to u all for your efforts,

U will agree that whether we are leasing a truck or buying, what we have on the ground is a multi million Naira business.
If it is to be a partnership, it has to be run with a lot of transparency, for us to lay a good foundation
evanstical has raised very critical questions, some of which I believe has not been properly adresssed & may cause problems sooner than xpected
For a business to be registered as a limited liability company the CAC will request for more than one director up front
We may go further to appoint a board thereafter, but the legally recognised directors (& shareholders of the business) are the ones so listed until changed
Whoever pays into the account now is paying into their purse, they are the signatories to the account,
We expect that spat should be one of them, that's OK with me,
but who else is involved?
We deserve to know, We seek to know, evanstical has asked, I am asking, more people will still ask sooner or later
Please let us know, If not here, at least on the website, or through mails

FUND RAISING TRAP
The way it is presently, It is a blind Competition
Every business minded partner seeking to be a director now mop funds from wherever to become a director
Only to discover probably later that he missed it by a Naira or ten, even if he suspects that the successful ones leveraged on insider info
He cannot withdraw the money till after two years
Sounds so much like gambling, or what Lagosians call Baba-Ijebu

SO, WHAT OPTIONS CAN WE CONSIDER?
While it is important that those who put in the most funds have close watch on their funds, it can still be achieved by classification
Create investment classes,
Let people know that to be a director (apart from the chief promoter) you need to put in at least Nx,000 (let's say N500,000)
If we have decided that there will be 4 of such directors, & we have more than that figure paying in, we can resort to voting to select
It will only be fair that we expect some of the others to want to reduce or withdraw their level of investment thereafter if not voted
We also desire to have a stable business
If the picture of success we have painted is so real, then we should let people have the freedom to move their funds or remain after one year

ALTERNATIVELY
We could vote in another 4 people who will in rotation wait to become directors after 2years, while the old directors are also not allowed to withdraw their funds for another two years down the line
This becomes a case of do unto others what you can allow them to do unto you, that I believe is the spirit of 'co-operative' democracy that we are trying to establish here
So what happens to others if there are more or less than 8 people meeting the prescribed payment?
If more than 8, Others can be allowed to withdraw their funds if they so desire after not more than 90 days
If less than 8, other smaller investors may be given the hope to raise their investment to the directorship level

The Blue Ocean of Opportunity
If any body feels uncomfortable with spats earlier concept, it does not imply that the concept is a scam, they have probably laid out what they are comfortable with
At this stage we can suggest alternatives, & seek to enforce it, or simply walk away to create your own eldorado
The demand for such outfits is simply vast, I am in it & feel it
But it also require that you thread with caution & get as much support as you can to get it moving smoothly
Just my 2kobo Opinion. Thanks

BusinessRe: Top 10 Richest Nigerians. by oduz:
Olalekan 0: Davido's father used to be the chancellor of Babcock uni,he has an office in the school and that makes him a worker there, secondly, davido's uncle is not as rich as present day billionaires.he became a governor at a time corruption was nearly non-existent in nigeria and his tenure lasted only a year. Lastly,I'm a native of Oshogbo,i've seen both mansions and they don't qualify the owners as one of the richest in nigeria!
You are entitled to your opinion on all issues, but note that I was refering to Adeleke Univ. Ede of which 'Mr' Adeleke is presently the proprietor

On Babcock Uni, If u insist that because an office space is designated to the Chancellor, that makes him a worker, it shows clearly that u are not familiar with the structure of Universities, that should not lead to an argument, what is required is a little education fom the nearest enlightened fellow near u.

But my fear is that you may unknowingly be mis-informing millions of Younger generation of Nigerians on NL who may come across this thread now or in the future, so for their sake I would chip in this;
The Chancellor is the ceremonial Head of a University, next to him is the Pro Chancellor who Chairs the Governing Council, next in line to the Governing Council is the Vice Chancellor, who is the Chief Executive and the head of those you have referered to as workers
In Nigeria the Govt appoints/honours High ranking traditional rulers and other Eminent personalities as Chancellors of most public universities.

A little background info, the 7th Day Adventist Mission founded their first school in Nigeria at muslim dominated Ede Town, and over the years one of their biggest patrons/matrons was Mrs Adeleke, mother of the Adeleke Brothers, though married to a muslim first republic politician. At the height of their prominence as University proprietors (of Babcock) the Mission through the Uni, has since honoured her for her contributions, 'Mr' Adeleke's honour as Chancellor is for his continued effort in this line ........... cool
BusinessRe: Top 10 Richest Nigerians. by oduz: 11:20am On Jul 26, 2013
Olalekan 0: Where's Davido's supposedly "billionaire father"? I'd always known the man's wealth was hugely exagerated. I mean what billionaire businessman would have the time to work at a university as a chancellor? If the man was/is as rich as the media portrays, how come no one knew him until his son became a musician?

My uncle's wife is a bossom friend of the second wife of Isiaka Adeleke(Davido's uncle who's a former senator) and she tells me Davido's dad is just as rich as a senator and nothing more!
Who is doing the exageration, & who is doing the assessment?
Not every billionaire will fit into Naija's Top ten
A Chancellor is not a worker in the University, its an honourary title, next to the Visitor
By the way, 'Mr' Adeleke is the Proprietor of that University
His Brother Senator Adeleke, is also a former Governor.(If a former Gov is not a Billionaire in Naija, it is by choice and we should let him enjoy his Peace)
If a man formerly owns a Bank, now a University, and he is not the one claiming to be a billionaire, we should be kind enough to let him enjoy his peace
The two brothers have their country homes opposite the NYSC camp in Ede, any Corper that have served in Osun may also choose that for assessment,
Both are stately Mansions, but No doubt, the abode of one looks like a BQ to the other
I am no relation to the 'Mr' Adeleke, but I am touched when we choose to disturb the peace of the endangered few Nigerians who are dilligently contributing to our growth quitely
Davido is the one in show biz, not his Dad, Enough said cool

Peace perpetual, Please Kindly mail me the direction to your location in that town for consideration

thirty: I would like to host Mini-iftar in Gbagaga if I can see interested people.
I stay in ketu mile 12 and Ajah is to far for me. if the brothers can show interest, I can host one as advised by a nairalander.

so, show your interest here.
I stay in Palmgrove, would love the fellowship, freshair & adventure to 'Jarusville' in Ajah, but looking at the cost for the average person on the Mainland, I think having another one on the Mainland has my full support, May Allah bless you for offering to host. But having someone experienced with previous editions in the organizing effort, would be another essential ingredient for a successful Mainland edition with the NL flavour. The reality is that Lagos is a State & one location may not fit all, also of consideration is that the cost of reaching Ajah is enough to reachout to less fortunate neighbours. Some members may even enjoy attending the two if not holding on the same day. Just an opinion

PoliticsNigerian Animal Farm, Presents; 'Lion & The Shepopotamus' by oduz(op):
'Why I am at war with the First Lady' - Soyinka

• Explains link with Amaechi

AT 79, Africa’s first Nobel Laureate in Literature, Prof. Wole Soyinka, seems not to have lost his zeal for standing up against those he perceives to use their public office to oppress others in Nigeria.

And though the afternoon open-door lecture series was supposed to be a commemoration of his birthday, he quickly swapped the garment of a celebrant with that of a political activist as it became necessary. Referring to the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan’s alleged meddling in the affairs of Rivers State and abuse of power, Soyinka asked, “What’s the problem with Madam Shepopotamus?”

Fielding questions from a member of the audience at the African Centre in Covent Garden, venue of Saturday’s “WS79 – Memoirs of Our Future: An Audience with Prof. Wole Soyinka,” he said he was not afraid to stand up and call the First Lady to order and also educate her if she cannot take a cue from how other first ladies behave.

“People said I call her a domestic appendage, what’s the problem with that? What’s the problem with Madam Shepopotamus?”

Pressed to comment on the lingering political crisis in Rivers State, Soyinka revealed: “What happened in Rivers began long ago, before five decided that five was greater than 27. If we don’t move in support of the truth at certain mathematics, we shouldn’t be surprised if the next mathematics anomaly takes place at our doorstep.”

He added: “We move when there’s interference, when all roads are closed – for hours - because she’s going to her hairdresser.”

He argued that if members of the civil society do nothing when such abuse is taking place in Rivers, Ibadan and Lagos, then Nigerians should not be surprised when a curfew is imposed the next time she is visiting their state.

He called on Dame Jonathan to take a cue from President Barack Obama’s wife, stating: “We ask unelected people to look around and see how the Mrs. Michelle Obamas of the world are conducting themselves,” adding, however, that if the Dames of this world do not learn, “we must educate them.”

Asked if he was a friend of the embattled Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Soyinka replied: “That Amaechi is my friend is not an allegation,” because he would be friends with anyone who has been given the mandate of the people through the electoral process.

According to him, he is not afraid to be associated with such if they are fulfilling their obligations and responsibilities of governance. He added: “To say the Governor of Rivers is my close friend is like saying Kayode Fayemi or Dr. Babangida Aliyu or Governor Ibikunle Amosun or even the Second Republic Governor, Mohammed Shugaba, in Shagari’s administration, is my friend.”

However, Soyinka said ‘it’s not a matter of friendship,” but defence of democracy and truth, stressing that he would not be afraid to switch loyalty if the people he once praised change and start oppressing the very people who elected them.

Meanwhile, he commended Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State who he said has provided educational opportunities for all in the state.
