PoliticsFormer Jigawa APC Governorship Aspirant Nakudu Resigns From Party by Ofunaofu(op): 10:28am On Apr 04
A former gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State, Senator Sabo Mohammed Nakudu, has resigned his membership of the ruling party.

Nakudu, who contested the APC governorship ticket ahead of the 2023 general election, announced his exit from the party in a resignation letter addressed to party officials in Sundimina Ward, Birnin Kudu Local Government Area.

In the letter, the senator said his decision followed careful consideration, noting that he was grateful to the party for the opportunities it afforded him during his time as a member.

He also acknowledged the support he received from party stakeholders and supporters throughout his political journey in the APC.

According to him, the resignation takes immediate effect from Friday, April 3, 2026, and includes his withdrawal from all party activities.

Nakudu served in the Federal House of Representatives for two tenures (2007–2011) and (2011–2015) under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He also served as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria between 2015 and 2019 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Although he did not indicate his next move, findings revealed that he is joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and is expected to announce his membership soon.

You can keep littering this place with banal empty rhetorics but it won't change the situation that ADC now find itself.

APC got their fingers burnt during Buhari administration on matters like this in Zamfara and Rivers and have learnt from it.

If they don't get their acts right...nothing will happen more than tweets and Nairaland noise!

Putindbutt:
That fraud was Abacha's boy, no surprises he was romanticizing his boss while dancing on the graves of hundreds of Nigerians who died fighting against the ruthless anti democratic regime of Abacha.

While patriotic Nigerians were sacrificing their lives for democracy, the fraud was eating fat, collecting contracts from Abacha at the ports and helping his boss loot Nigeria dry.

His boss hijacked power through a coup, suspended the constitution, dissolved ALL POLITICAL PARTIES, dissolved NATIONAL ELECTORAL COMMISSION. Yet to that fraud, Abacha was more democratic.

Under Tinubu, we have 21 registered political parties out of which two new parties were recently added. Yet to that fraud, a man who dissolved all political parties was more democratic.

When you ran away from your party and hijacked another man's party but rather than take responsibility, you start talking like a deranged man.

That he will never become President of Nigeria is not even a prayer but a statement of FACT.
Nigerians know the NADECO wannabe who betrayed Abiola, then sneaked off to beg Abacha for a commissioner post. Quite the activist and so called democrat

When I Was Watching Politics Today I Would've Shot Seun If There Was Way To Break The Screen" -Wike

Channels Television's political news host Seun Okinbaloye has come under fire from Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike for his handling of a recent interview with an ADC member.

Arise TV posted a video of Wike reacting to the interview, in which he expressed shock and anger. Wike stated that he would have shot Seun if there had been a way to breach the screen. He was especially unhappy because Seun, the interviewer, had voiced his personal belief that no political party should be able to control Nigeria's government.

I would have shot him if there was a way to smash the screen yesterday while I was watching Politics Today, Seun, according to Wike. Now that you're the interviewer, you're expressing your personal opinion on how people can coexist in this country with just one political party.

When apc lost zamfara because of internal problem , nigeria did not burn then. When apc lost to pdp iN BAYELSA because of apc candidate irregularity in his certificate , Nigeria did not burn. Nothing would happen if adc did not declare winner.
That was Buhari's era and that era was a time when losing an election didn’t come with a rehearsed instruction to “go to court.”

Now, institutions been compromised. The opposition is stifled, the democratic space is shrinking, and elections are increasingly questioned.

INEC appears to act beyond its mandate, even interpreting court rulings in ways that raise concern.

When people lose faith in the system, they begin to look outside it, and that is dangerous for any democracy.

If this continues, it risks pushing the country toward instability.

Tinubu have decided to set this country on fire and watch it burn

They will have issues if they call only few members of the family and settle them and take over. This is what is playing out. Not Tinubu. Not APC. Of course it will be the joy of your enemies to see you in disarray. They will exploit.

ADC: Retrace your steps, don’t put 2027 election in jeopardy – ACF warns Tinubu, INEC

The Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to reconsider recent actions, warning they could threaten the 2027 general elections.

ACF National Publicity Secretary, T. A. Muhammad-Baba, spoke to Leadership newspaper on the state of the nation, expressing concern over what he described as troubling developments in the country’s electoral process.

He cited INEC’s removal of the leadership of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, led by David Mark, as well as the proposed voter revalidation exercise, as actions capable of undermining democratic stability.

Muhammad-Baba said such measures could erode public confidence in the electoral system, noting that they risk creating uncertainty ahead of the next general elections.

He further warned that Nigeria is already grappling with worsening insecurity and economic challenges, stressing that introducing political tension at this time could aggravate the situation.

“It looks like every step taken by INEC or the political authorities is putting the 2027 election into jeopardy. It is not too late, and we hope we call on the government, we call on INEC, we call on all those concerned to retrace their steps and stand by the principles and the tenets of democracy.

“Otherwise, all these things really portend a crisis, and it is not good for the country. We have enough. We have enough problems with insecurity. We have enough problems with economic hardships,” Muhammad-Baba said.

According to him, stakeholders must adhere strictly to democratic principles to avoid plunging the country into a fresh political crisis.

The ACF spokesman called on the federal government, INEC and other relevant actors to retrace their steps and ensure that all actions taken strengthen, rather than weaken, the nation’s democracy.
