Atiku Camp Lambasts Tinubu's Aide, Daniel Bwala Over Alleged Woeful Outing In Media Interview During the interview, the host confronted Bwala with past statements he allegedly made when he was aligned with Atiku’s political camp, including criticisms of Tinubu before Bwala later joined the ruling party. The camp of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has sharply criticised President Bola Tinubu's aide, Daniel Bwala over his alleged woeful performance in a recent media interview he granted to Al Jazeera. In a statement released in Abuja on Saturday, Atiku’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, described Bwala’s appearance on the network’s “Head to Head”programme as embarrassing and accused him of spreading falsehoods while defending the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Bwala, who currently serves as Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, appeared on the programme hosted by journalist, Mehdi Hasan. During the interview, the host confronted Bwala with past statements he allegedly made when he was aligned with Atiku’s political camp, including criticisms of Tinubu before Bwala later joined the ruling party. The discussion also touched on Nigeria’s security challenges and governance issues, with the interviewer citing reports from international organisations and questioning the government’s record on insecurity. Reacting to the interview, Shaibu said Bwala’s attempt to portray his performance as a strong defence of the government was misleading. According to him, the interview exposed contradictions between Bwala’s past political positions and his current role in the government. He said: “What Nigerians witnessed was not fearless debate but a spokesperson struggling to reconcile shifting loyalties with inconvenient facts.” Shaibu also accused Bwala of previously asking Atiku’s media team to issue a statement claiming that Tinubu and his associates had threatened his life—an allegation the team said it refused to publish. The Atiku camp further criticised Bwala’s defence of the government’s handling of insecurity, arguing that dismissing the scale of violence in Nigeria was irresponsible. Shaibu said trivialising the deaths of thousands of Nigerians over recent years amounted to “moral bankruptcy” and undermined the seriousness of the country’s security crisis. Despite the backlash, Bwala has defended his appearance on the programme, stating that he had no regrets representing the government on an international platform. He said defending the administration of President Tinubu is part of his official responsibility and insisted he would continue to do so anywhere in the world. https://saharareporters.com/2026/03/07/atiku-camp-lambasts-tinubus-aide-daniel-bwala-over-alleged-woeful-outing-media-interview#google_vignette |
Ninaffivadit:You saw the truth in that comment, we both know you did. But instead of addressing it, you chose to play the ostrich and hide behind “⚠️ don’t make racist or tribalistic comments.” |

Imagine needing 5,000 canvassers to convince Ekiti people to re-elect Tinubu. Shouldn’t Tinubu be campaigning on what he has done so far? Why do we need canvassers, City Boy Movement, and Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Mandate standers, etc? Is it that in almost three years in office, there’s nothing Tinubu can point to and say: “This is why Nigerians should re-elect me.”? |

Did he expect Al Jazeera to massage his ego? If Daniel Bwala has any integrity left, he should be hanging his head in gargantuan shame. That interview tore him to shreds. Then again, integrity is clearly optional in Tinubu’s orbit. He appears to have a preference for compromised voices, perhaps because they mirror his own Thunder 🔥 ⚡ 🔥 him there |
We currently have no government. Tinubu should resign and save both himself and the country.

Nigeria, as a country, has never witnessed this level of incompetence and unprecedented cluelessness in its history. Tinubu is an ineffectual buffoon |
The former governor of Anambra State and 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Mr Peter Obi, has said that no individual or group has a monopoly of violence, insisting that nobody can stop him from visiting any part of the country. Read Also: Tinubu’s Quiet Run to 2027: How division, time, disorganisation are weakening opposition Obi was reacting to the Benin City incident and the subsequent threats circulating on the social media warning him against visiting certain parts of the country during a visit to Peter University, Achina, Anambra State. “I am a Nigerian, and I am free to go to any part of this country. It is a constitutional right that nobody can take away from me. But let me make it clear, nobody has a monopoly of violence,” he said. He explained why he travelled to Rivers State despite a strong warning that he should not step foot in the state, adding that such threats did not deter him from honouring an earlier invitation shortly after the Benin incident. Obi, who has declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, alleged that there had been orchestrated efforts to keep him off the 2027 ballot , insisting that such moves would not deter him from pursuing his ambition. “I’m not desperate to be the President of Nigeria, but I’m desperate to see Nigeria work. “Nigeria has collapsed and is already lying on the ground. Nigeria is not working because many rich Nigerians are greedy. They have everything they need, but are still scavenging for more. “No matter what they do, I must contest the election. Let them declare a free and fair contest, bring the ball to the centre of the field and declare it started, and let us see what happens. “With their 30 governors, they should make the election free and fair,” Obi said. He maintained that the country’s system was skewed against the poor and reiterated his belief that Nigeria should be a place where opportunities are open to all citizens. “We want a country where the son of a nobody can become somebody without knowing anybody,” he said. … on leaving Labour Party Obi also explained his decision to leave the Labour Party for the African Democratic Congress, citing prolonged leadership disputes within the party and what he described as the refusal of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to recognize court judgments. “You all know that I’m now in ADC. People have been asking why I left LP. We had been in court over the leadership of the Labour Party and secured favourable judgments, but INEC refused to recognise them. “When I left on December 31, the same orders they were rejecting were suddenly recognized in January,” he said. He alleged that certain constitutional amendments were being considered to frustrate his political ambition. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2026/03/edo-attack-nobody-has-monopoly-of-violence-peter-obi/#google_vignette |
Whalis:If your definition of grassroots followership is arming thugs, hoodlums, and agberos to do your bidding and attack dissenting voices and opposition members, is that what you call grassroots fellowship? |
ChiefOloye:It’s funny you’re trying to educate me while completely dodging the context of the conversation. I made that comment because you called the OP a bloody liar when he posted the South-East presidential voting pattern from 1999 till date, data that clearly shows the region hasn’t historically voted strictly along tribal or ethnic lines. Instead of addressing the actual evidence, you jumped straight into rewriting history and building a different argument entirely. Telling us how the south east stuck with PDP blablabla, then moved to what you described as PDP lite or whatever No one said the Igbos rejected Falae or Ojukwu because of competence. The point was simple: your claim that the South-East always votes based on ethnicity doesn’t stand when you look at the electoral record. That’s exactly what the OP showed and instead of disproving it, you dismissed it with insults. Also, the irony of someone saying “that will not stop me from educating you” while asking me for empirical evidence about Obasanjo vs Falae vs Ojukwu, a claim I never even made, is honestly impressive. Next time, try responding to the actual point on the table instead of inventing a new debate to feel like you’ve won something. |
Lithiumite:Can you provide evidence to back up your claim? This is a public forum, you don’t just throw around wild, unverified claims without the facts. |
It's obvious that the Tinubu led APC is a terrórist organîzation.... with janjawi.i.i.id idealogy A threat to democracy and the continued corporate existence of this country. |
IronCondemned:From Mexico actually, from where he is having a 🤝 With Mexican drug cartels |
Okoyeeboz:He became a clown immediately he left PDP |
Ozigbo is a clown 🤡, a very big one. Did he ever get the “justice” he was shouting about after losing the Anambra APC gubernatorial primaries? He clearly doesn’t know Tinubu, because if he did, he’d understand that Tinubu and restructuring are parallel lines, they never meet. Tinubu once talked about restructuring when he was in opposition, but now he seems at a loss about how to govern, let alone restructure anything.

Amupitans INEC Will eventually make history as the worst in the history of this country |
The Tinubu government didn’t just lose the fight....infact at this point, we effectively have no government. |
Why is he making this statement from Nigeria? That’s something he should be saying from Tehran, not Abuja |

While listing what Enugu has supposedly gained from “connecting to the centre,” he suddenly suggested he should stop for now. One wonders: has the list been exhausted, or is there simply too much left to praise? By that logic, if Enugu had not connected to the centre, the President, whom some hail as a democrat would never have approved it, and Enugu would have gained nothing. That, I must say, is sycophancy at its finest. |
