PoliticsClemency List: Tinubu’s Govt Thinks After Acting — Atiku by Ofunaofu(op): 9:51pm On Oct 29, 2025
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has berated President Bola Tinubu’s administration for the review of the clemency list, following public condemnation, saying the government thinks after it acts

The Tinubu’s government on Wednesday announced the reviewed clemency list, removing individuals convicted of serious crimes such as kidnapping, drug-related offences, human trafficking, fraud and unlawful possession or dealing in firearms.

Reacting in to the development, the former Vice President, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, said Nigerians have witnessed a government that doesn’t lead but reacts.

“President Bola Tinubu has “cancelled” his own pardon for drug traffickers, kidnappers, and other hardened criminals — but only after Nigerians shouted loud enough to wake him from his moral slumber.

“Let’s be clear: this U-turn is not an act of wisdom, it’s an act of shame.

“If the public had kept quiet, would convicted drug lords and kidnappers be walking free today under the President’s blessing? Who thought it was a brilliant idea to reward crime and betray justice? Who signed off on such national embarrassment?

“These are the questions every Nigerian deserves answers to: Who compiled the list of beneficiaries?
What criteria justified freeing kidnappers and drug offenders? Where was the Attorney-General when this absurdity was cooked up? And why does this government only “discover its conscience” after Nigerians express outrage?”he said.

According to the former vice president, this pattern has become too familiar — announce the unthinkable, watch the country erupt, then hurriedly reverse course as if governance is a game of “trial and error.”

“A presidential pardon is not a social experiment. It is a sacred constitutional power meant to reflect justice, mercy, and national interest — not to reward impunity or test public patience.

“How can a government that pardons criminals lecture citizens about morality, order, or discipline? How can a Commander-in-Chief who nearly freed kidnappers claim to be fighting insecurity? This entire episode exposes one bitter truth: Nigeria is being governed without foresight, without empathy, and without shame.”

“If the President truly means well, let him publish the list of all those who were meant to benefit from this scandal. Let Nigerians see the names, the crimes, and the hands that signed off on this reckless indulgence. Until then, this cancellation is nothing but damage control — too little, too late,” the statement added.

If anyone compare this tinubu with buhari again na thunder go fire that person o. Tinubu actually listen to public opinion. He has better democratic credentials
Tinubu listened after the backlash, fair enough. But let’s not pretend he didn’t cause the mess himself.

Buhari cannot and will not commit this kind of blunder.

That single act brought international disgrace and disrepute to Nigeria.

The problem with this post is you are turning this discussion into Yoruba vs Igbo. You are equally as bad as them. In fact I am wondering if two of you are not paid by the same person.

Your referring to Yorubas as agbados and suggesting tribal sentiment is meant to cause strife. His referral to Obi in a poor light is meant to do same.
You clearly missed it all. ‘Agbadoos’ here doesn’t mean Yorubas. it refers to Tinubu supporters who think every critique of this administration is an ethnic attack. The rest of us are talking governance, they’re talking tribe. If holding leaders accountable now sounds tribal to you, maybe the problem isn’t the message but the Agbadó you’re chewing.

😂😂😂 Okoro and incoherent gibberish na 5&6…..if port diversification isn’t anti Lagos, so what’s bitter obi crying about? I just educated your ignorance incase you lack comprehension that other ports are also been budgeted for as against bitter obi biased rhetoric that only Lagos port is been prioritised…Lagos will continue to be the envy of you clowns from sh!!ty region😂
The irony of someone typing “educated your ignorance” while butchering grammar deserves its own ministry. Relax, nobody hates Lagos we just want a Nigeria that works beyond one state. Progress isn’t tribal, but comprehension clearly is.

grin you are the lunatic here. Your Agulu packaged fraud was so quick to criticise the govt for approving modernisation of Lagos port while leaving out the rest that was also approved for modernisation. This is what happens when you let others do the thinking for you instead of making your own findings or research but as usual anything your leader support is always right. and besides is Lagos both not the busiest port in the country? Making so much revenue for the govt and what’s wrong if the govt chose to prioritise Lagos port over other?but ofcourse We already know your Criticism on Lagos is coming from a place of hate..don’t worry you will heal😂😂😂
The lūnātism I mentioned perfectly fits the Tinubu Lagos APC Agbado crew, always turning every Obi comment into a Lagos threat.
Port diversification isn’t anti-Lagos; it’s pro-Nigeria.
More ports ,more revenue, less congestion, more jobs.
But trust Agbado logic to mistake progress for hate. Self inflicted nightmarish hate 😂

Nigeria needs leaders who think before talking – APC knocks Peter Obi over ports comment

‎The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Tuesday said Nigeria needs leaders who think before they speak and not those who confuse populist soundbites for policy discourse.

‎Reacting to Peter Obi’s remark on the need to diversify port development in Nigeria, the party said lack of constructive intellectual engagement is the former Labour Party presidential candidate’s major weakness.

‎In a statement signed by its spokesman, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC said President Bola Tinubu’s administration does not specialize in propaganda unlike the opposition.

“Although it is widely acknowledged that constructive intellectual engagement remains the major weak point of Mr. Peter Obi, he will do well to carry out in-depth research into any issue he wishes to put in the public domain.

‎”This will help him avoid the legacy of generational embarrassment that comes from shallow, ill-informed commentary dressed up as economic analysis.

‎”Nigeria deserves leaders who think before they speak, not those who confuse populist soundbites for policy discourse,” the statement said.

‎Oladejo added that the Renewed Hope Agenda is a national agenda and not a regional favour.

‎”From the Bonny Deep Sea Port in Rivers, to the Ibom Port in Akwa Ibom, to the ongoing dredging and rehabilitation of Warri and Calabar Ports – this administration’s commitment is holistic, inclusive, and nationwide.

‎”Those crying foul over the Lagos Port investment should first pick up a basic economic policy manual before embarrassing themselves further. Governance is driven by strategy, not sentiment.”

The statement stressed that Tinubu and the APC are determined to build a Nigeria that works.

PoliticsWe have Received Threats From Terrorists To Bomb NASS Complex – Garba Muhammad by Ofunaofu(op): 8:59pm On Oct 28, 2025

Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Internal Security, Garba Muhammad, says the National Assembly has received threats from terrorists to bomb the complex.

Garba made this disclosure at a public hearing on a bill seeking to establish the Legislative Security Directorate, which seeks to enhance security management, protect lawmakers, staff members and visitors to the nation’s parliament.

According to him, the complex has been facing security challenges, including cases of car and motorcycle theft, vandalism, fake identity cards, and infiltration by unregistered visitors.

DAILY POST reports that a similar incident was recorded on May 4, 2021, when a security alert warned lawmakers of a planned Boko Haram attack on the National Assembly complex and other VIP/government locations in Abuja.

Following the alert, the National Assembly limited members’ presence on the premises for safety, and security experts called for stronger federal protection of national infrastructure and assets.

The lawmaker called for urgent fortification of the complex as a proactive measure.

“We have received threats from terrorists to bomb the National Assembly Complex and threats from protesters to lock up the National Assembly.

“Legislators are exposed to threats from constituents and others who gain easy access to their offices without any formal appointment.

“It is obvious that with the ongoing security challenges, if proper measures are not taken, it will truncate the legislative activities in the National Assembly.

“If activities are thwarted, there will be no representation, no oversight, no annual budget, no plenary at all — and that will destabilise legislative procedure, democracy, and the stability of the system, and our nation at large,”
Garba said.

Tinubu is also an identity thiéf.
Tinubu didn’t attend his father’s burial but sent emissaries so that his real identity wouldn’t be unravelled.
