why not post the price. What exactly are you guys afraid of when you make adverts without stating the price of what you are advertising. How will you feel if you on ebay and see a nice product offered for sale without a selling price. Just annoying. |
cheruv: sentiment kills...antisemitism ? That is a word coined by Israeli fanatics and their lapdogs when they want to run away from answering probing questions. Calling a Nigerian Christian antisemitic is a low for you and shows how hollow you are. I know your type, you belong to the group of stupid Nigerians who degrade Nigeria by moving around the streets of Nigeria brandishing Israeli flags. How many Israelis have you seen brandishing Nigeria flag on the streets of Jerusalem. You are lost. Go to Israel and see the way they discriminate against blacks, yet you come stupidly to a Nigeria forum to lick the ass of those who don't care whether you live or die. You are a disgrace to Nigeria and no need replying you again. You are a lost case. Keep dancing with Israeli flags on the streets of Nigeria. Maybe one day Israel will recognise that they have a lapdog in nigeria and invite you over to be a fetcher of wood and hauler of water. |
cheruv: bringing in Biafra into this discourse was shameful of you...too bad a 'genius' like you can't see the difference between Biafra and the modern day Philistines.I get your logic, the blockade on biafra was bad because the Ibos are humans and it was bad to institute a blockade that will cause the death of humans. The blockade of the palestinians is ok because the palestinians are subhumans. They can be blockaded till death, their house can be bombed and their civilians killed, no problem. Afterall Israel is God's chosen people, nothing Israel does can be imperfect. Everything about Israel's conduct is just perfect. Forget the multitude of UN resolutions against Israel that Israel disregards with the help of the US. You have very correct reasoning. Ride on in your religion induced coma. You said you asked some other poster some questions and the guy did not reply you. You are happy over it, it did not occur to you that the guy saw your case as hopeless hence he decided to ignore you. People like you still believe that the world ws created a few thousand years ago because your religion says so. Wise up, dont pass your folly down your lineage.. Bring on your tasking questions, I will also give tasking questions on several topics you can never answer correctly in your lifetime |
Ukrainian leaders are very stupid to allow the west to use their land for geopolitical warfare. Head or tail they will lose. Even if Ukraine succeed in joining nato, the large number of ethnic Russians in Ukraine will continue to be aligned with Russia causing long standing division in Ukraine. John McCain can send weapons to Ukraine no problem about that as long as they are ready to deal with the consequences. They ones sent to Syria is what isis is using now to terrorise the middle east. The ones they gave to rebels in Libya ended up distabilizing Mali and also form a substantial part of the weapons currently used against Nigeria soldiers by Boko haram. |
sktechnologies: Kindly do your self good and make the transfer online since you just affirmed you are into internet banking with your local bank where the money is, in the transfer window simply click NEFT that means a transfer to an internation destination.. then enter the domicilliary details, Kapish.. its as easy as it gets. further enquiries. pls get intouch. The guy has naira in nigeria, so the issue of domiciliary account does not come in. You can not do international online transfer from a naira account. Op there are several ways to do this. Create a website that accept credit card payments. That way they can pay you in dollars even with their naira dominated master or visa cards. Another alternative will be for you to get a naira master card. You can use it to withdraw dollars from your account while in the US. It was recently reported that the withdrawal limit has been increased to 450,000 usd per year. That means you can use this method to move up to about half a million dollars per year per card. However you will lose from the high dollar /naira exchange rates charged by banks and the credit card company. The other option is to open a PayPal account link your nigeria card to the account and also link your us bank account to the account. Fund your PayPal with your naira and withdraw it in dollars into your us bank account without PayPal withdrawal charge. However there is a 2.5% charge for such multi currency transactions on PayPal. You can go the traditional way. Transfer naira to a bureau the change owner. He will in turn transfer the equivalent dollars to your account in the US. I have a bureau De change I use for this. Pm me if you want his details. Can't post such details online. The cheapest option will be to open form M valid for forex with your bank and get your bank to buy dollar from cbn on your behalf and then transfer to your account in the US. This is an extremely frustrating option for many people. If you have a pos terminal in the us you can place a call to your customers in nigeria, let them give you their visa card or master card details then charge them through the pos terminal. That way you get paid in dollars right into your US account that the pos terminal is linked to. Your customers can also send you dollars from nigeria by western union money transfer. You can receive up to 2000 usd per transaction by this method. |
Truckpusher:But that dog actually look like the emir of kano. Why are the northerners offended by a look alike? |
What is nemesis over this. He is the speaker of the state house of assembly. If we wants to contest for the post of governor then he should resign from the post of speaker and by extension resign as the acting governor. Then he can come just all the other contenstants and contest on equal footing. As acting governor, he is supposed to midwife the election, not participate in it. |
cheruv: too bad mine are dead..Who is looking for whose trouble in the middle east. You talk about things with you conscious smeared with denial. Israel had annexed majority of the land allocated to the Palestinians in 1948 when the state of Israel was created. Majority of Palestinians live in refugee camps , Gaza is blockaded by Israel and Egypt for donkey years now. Just a few years blockade of Biafra lead to the death of millions of Ibos, you think the Palestinians are enjoying the blockade? As long as the world is playing the ostrich with the issue of the Palestinians there will always be conflict in the middle east. 2000 Palestinians civilians were killed in their homes and all fools like you can say is that it is ok, as if Palestinians are subhumans. |
cheruv: you say he's myopic.. but I'd say he's stup1dyou are very stupid not to realise that disproportionate response is against the norm of civilised living. A few years back a nigerian tried to blow up a US civilian airline, how will you feel if the US responds disproportionately and shoots down a Nigerian civilian airline over the incident. Fools like you are blinded by religion and can not reason objectively when the issue involve Israel. Obviously you brain cells have been killed by either excessive western propaganda or bible induced hypozia. You need to salvage your brain. Hamas never denies killing Israelis when it does. In the case of the 3 Israelis, hamas denied involvement in their death from the beginning. How did you conclude with your dead brain that they were killed by hamas, necessitating the killing of almost 2000 palestinian civilians and destruction of civilian infrastructure. you really need to wean yourself from western propaganga and religion induced coma. |
Sageez: 4giv me if i cal u a fool. Amechi has notin to do wit dis. I liv in bonny, i n knw peterside to wel, anytin cal happen der. Do u tin u cn stop nature, dat river isnt manmade n amechi can do notin abt itWith people reasoning like you, Nigeria have a very long way to go. There are many things the state government and Rivers state ministry of transport could have done to prevent this accident. First, all accidents are caused by someone. There is no accident that can not be prevented. You need to understand this point before discussing accidents and accident prevention. If you do not get this point then please dont bother reading further. secondly, the Rivers state government should have set up minimum safety standards which boat operators are to adher to to prevent accidents. Those standards are no where to be seen. Rivers state government is supposed to specify the type and size of floatation devices each person is to wear before boarding water craft. Those specification are no where to be found. Rivers state government is supposed to licence each boat used for public transport and certify that they are sea worthy before being used, the certifification is also supposed to specify the number of persons and maximum weight the boat is allowed to carry. THis requirement is non existent. Boat drivers are supposed to be certified to ensure that people lives are not entrusted into the hands of incompetent people. This is not being done. lastly those who cause the death of others through these types of preventable accidents ought to be taken to court and jailed for manslaughter by the rivers state government as a deterrent to others, this is not being done. In summary officials of the Rivers state ministry of transport are grossly incompetent to supervise the activity of water transportation in Rivers state hence we are seeing these types of preventable accidents. |
They used a work vest in place of a type 1 floatation device. Work vest can not save someone in a remote location. It can not turn unconscious people face up also to prevent drowning. The state government is supposed to set the standard for the type of floatation devices people should wear when boarding these boats. Unfortunately I doubt if workers at the Rivers State ministry of Transport know the difference between types of floatation devices. Amaechi will rather spend billions on political war than train ministry workers to set and monitor the right standards. |
ThaiAlNigeria: What you say is true. There is indeed lower duty on unmilled with unpacked rice. However I only gave information that I felt was relevant to the main topic. There is ofcourse alot more information and I could write an essay on it. That's not what I intend to do. However since you did bring it up, I can confirm this -:You are right about the high level of informal trade (Smuggling) from Benin republic into Nigeria. But that route is not open to people like you and me who intends to stay on the right side of the law. What I was trying to point out is that while there are many illegal means of bringing products into Nigeria at a profit, there are still some legal ways of bringing in same products and still make some profit. for Nafdac registration for example, you can do global listing to bring in assorted goods while processing the the main nafdac registration. Nafdac registration is one hell of a drainpipe for the would be importer. I wanted to point out that you should have looked at government policy thrust before even thinking about importing rice into Nigeria. In summary, the policy of government is aimed at discouraging import of rice. So you should not have wasted your time studying about bringing in rice. You could have spent that time studying how to set up a rice mill in Nigeria for the processing of local rice. for that for example you will get 0% duty on your imported machines and with a good possibility of getting government backed loans in the future. It is good that you were able to get a good business on thelong run, but in future look at government policy thrusts, it can save you valuable time. |
ThaiAlNigeria: Ghettodreams -- Thanks for your comments. We tested our website and web email check around May 2012. So the website was up since. It did go down once or twice since.I read the most part of your write up. The conclusion is that you still know very little about doing business in Nigeria as regards government policies. You failed in your rice business because your business model was at variance with the government policies on rice. 40% duty on rice is meant to discourage what you were planning to do, that is dump Thailand rice on Nigerians. Government policy is meant to encourage value addition to imported products before it hits the Nigerian market. To this end you will find that while importation of bagged cement is prohibited, importation of bulk cement and cement clinker is allowed. While import duty on packed tomato paste is 40% , duty on bulk tomato paste is 10%. In the same vein packed table salt has 70% duty while the bulk salt has very low duty. If you must bring rice from Thailand to Nigeria then bring in the un-milled rice. Mill it and bag it in Nigeria. That way you will be working in line with government policy thrust and enjoy Lower duty on your import. that is what many large scale importers are doing and you think they are not paying duty. |
Who is actually the terrorist in this case? Two sides fought, one side killed 69 people, mostly soldiers, the other side killed 2,142 people mostly civilians, destroyed residential houses and civilian infrastructure. Who exactly is a terrorist in this case. I believe Israel is the terrorist here. If you think otherwise, let's have your reasons. |
Nairaland should be on that list. Nairaland keeping 1 million plus jobless ones busy since 2005 |
Impulse80: Sharks can sense electric pulse. They use it to locate prey, so as long as you have a heart (or current in the case of those cables) you are foodFibre optic cables do not carry electric current. Information is transmitted through fibre optic cables in form of light. In the case of these goggle cables, most likely there is something in the cable coating that is attracting the sharks. Might be the plasticiser used in the plastic coating. How did goggle know that it is shark that is cutting the cables, might be mammy water that is dealing with the cables. |

Who is atiku, sounds like the name of a thief who was once a vp. If a group of trainee refuses to report for training for 1 month, they should not be surprised if the training programme gets scrapped. Your employer can hire and fire. That's employment rules 101 |
Making seeding from stem cuttings does not look like a fantastic idea to me. fruit trees are normally grated by combining two trees that have different advantages. The tree forming the root system is chosen from the local area to ensure it can withstand the soil borne diseases that may want to attack the root system, while the plant forming the shoot system is chosen from a tree that has the fruiting characteristics we want. By rooting the shoot you are avoiding using a plant that has superior root system, you are only concentrating on the plant that has good fruiting characteristics. Plants rooted from the way you are doing will fruit well as long as they do not succumb to soil borne diseases. This is very risky path to follow for a fruit tree that normally have very long life span. Imagine what will happen 5 yrs down the line if a plantation of your fruit trees come under attack from soil borne diseases because you concentrated only on a nice shoot system. |
Why will Nigerians engage the Nigerian army in a fight? Whoever wins the fight, one thing is sure, Nigerians will die in the fight. Why can't the parents of these boko haram fighters call their children to order and stop this madness. The local elders, councillors, local government chairmen and village heads should be able to call their wards to order and stop the unnecessary waste of human lives going on in the north. Unless if these local leaders are in support of boko haram |
Can you create a website that can allow my customers to pay me with master card or visa debit or credit cards |
I had an account with them in ph. I got very good service and very very poor service from them also. The folks at ph were good. One lady in their lagos office was very terrible. But I guess it depends on the individual serving you. |
I do not see myself as a critic, rather I am a realist. Millions of people in Nigeria are under employed engaging in activities day in day out that is unable to sustain them. Nothing wrong in starting small, but please have a defined goal and a workable formula for achieving the goal. Google started small from the garage of their house, today it is among the largest IT companies not by luck but because they invented a search method that was a workable way of making money. Many great businesses started small but they all had a vision of what they want to achieve and a plan of achieving the vision. |
SmartByki: Tomato sellers/buyers know the size of the 'large' basket.Good that you have given us some information. Don't you think it will be better if you measure the weight of the tomatoes per basket and sell based on weight? Globally people sell on weight basis and everyone can compare your price based on the cost per unit weight. Next you need to state the species of the tomatoes. That way people can relate more to what you are selling. And if you have tomatoes to sell I will advice you to go to the markets you are targeting and meet tomatoes retailers and build a network with them. |
In the short term the south will have to import meat from other countries. In the long run with the more educated folks in the south, they will simply go into modern animal husbandry. The north will still sell meat to the south since they are neighbours but they will also export more meat to other countries so as not to be seen to be too dependent on the southern market. It will be win win for everyone on the long run |
What is actually your dream? They say start small and dream big, how small should you really go? From your write up you have a wife, I will advice you to get a job and earn some money before venturing into business. And please start your poultry business with something substantial, not 6 chicken. Get a loan from friends and relatives if necessary. Continue on this 6 chick farm if you are actually sure of what you are doing. One can start with 6 chicks if It is an experimental setup to learn the basics of poultry farming with a view and available resources to go big after the experiment. |
this Nigeria business people and their wahala. You want to sell something but you nor want to divulge the sales cost, ok And what is the definition of large? Is it as large as a Sand Tipper bucket or as large as an oil barrel. Anyway when you people start giving out information people can relate to, then people will take you serious |
has the universities ever bothered to ask industries what type of research to want from them? The Universities give irrelevant project topics to their students and you expect industries to jump on board? OP, you are an Agric student, go into research meaningful to industries and you will see industries respond. If you are interested contact me for a list of agricultural research I for one will be ready to fund. |
