Vipco, for that I think I m the one that got it twisted, I m wiser now, glassy tiles on the wall will come out classy!

Spyder, I have some reservation on using the glassy tiles on your walk way, kindly put into consideration when u r old u could slip off u know ( God forbid) and kids also should be considered incase their is water spill or something, just thinking it's wise for tiles on the walkway or stirecase should have some rough edge cos of frictional impact !

This is why i like La-combe,those days in school na just to turn the back page and see the answer, actually used lacombe those days to solve some maths, anyway i will settle for "B" sha!!!! wether Oga Spyder likes it or not.

@sweetedge I forgot to add, thou it depend on the size if ur building I will advice as soon as u mold up to 4500 block just stop cos if u mold 9" to start foundation u will need like 6"for the upper part, so try to maximize ur blocks. Some of my blocks were wasted cos i molded more than I required for the ground flat, and can not start fencing now cos during decking materials will ve thro different enterance to the plot.

&sweetedge, my brother, I have got to decking stage for now, but ran out of fund, during the subsidy saga I refuse to stop cos I had limited time to spend in 9ja, so I bought cement n other stuffs like iron rod at very high price, I m back to base now and I m burning my butt off , intact as we speak a colleague in the office just called to tell me they ve paid our salary, make I dey gather the money small small, by GOD grace before the rain start I ll keep off the decking. I sent some pix in Sypder tread u go go through to see how far I ve gone so far! Wishing u quick approval of plan my brother! God with us all

@steo, you feel me, I hope to see u at the top, personally not on ground but GOD has blessed me with a brother Inlaw that took my project like his, my last visit downtown confirmed it and do up to start soonest April isn't a bad time for me too just before it starts rainy!

I ve asked these questions earlier on this thread and if my memory serves me right, I was told it depends greatly on ur taste and the finishes, there is a way u could also tell the number of blocks needed to complete the project, but experience has shown that it's not the block work that consumes fund, its more of your taste, you could go a few thread backward and see how this was discussed.
I leave u with this, Begining is HALF done, that u have started at all is a plus, all the best brother!

I used 6'' blinks blocks from foundation to this current level and i think we used a little bit above 5000pcs of 6'' blind blocks, cos the depth of the foundation was much ( i deliberately made it deeper), i will be used 5" blocks after the decking, since the load wont be much.( its a storey building), now where i am getting confused now, is that, the architect said i should put my overhead tank atop the building, instead of erecting a scalfold that will take the water tanks, i have a feeling that is i do it the architect way, maintenance might be difficult and over time the effect of the water might be telling on the walls on the building, anyway i am yet to get that stage sha,cos what i think the architect is trying to sell to me is that the building has a solid base, what do u think? should i so it his way or build a scalfold that will carry the water thanks outside of the building?

This is as far as my little money could take me, and from estimate so far, i have spent more than 4Million and i am just getting to decking stage, this they said will gulp up to 7million naira, i am currently trying to gather the fund for this.
Guys, If lord Spyder can do it with limited fund and still maintain standard we should learn from him instead of throwing spanner, the reason i could go far might be cos i am not as skilled as Spyder or my negotiating skills aren't as good. In all may GOD bless all of u that contributed so far!

I have tp appologize for being elusive for sometime now, actually in Nigeria and access to in ternet has been eractic coupled with the NLC and TUC struggle, whic to me is legitimate, cos the price of building wares has soar to high heavens, in any case i agree with a brother that adviced those outside Niaja to make out time to visit and supervise thier project on this, i can not tell you how fast my porject has gone just beacause i made out time to get my feet and clothe soiled cos i have been going to site and will still go to site until i travel back.
Before my entry to Nigeria i was at the fillimg stage which was not even completed as against information reaching while away, but currently i have done the german floor and even at lintel levels. i will update with pic soon, i am open for advice and counter advice. Long live NL long liuve the gurus and students alike.

@prof Spyder , I hope u won't sell handout for the lesson oh, if u wan sell I can be ur class rep. Maybe I can make some cash here to start off again lol.

@Osarodon, i must tell you getting started is the most difficult task, it took me more than 1month to finally drop the ideal of bungalow for a 3 brm flat upstairs, as you can see some bungalow can be very expensive to build depending on your taste !
So my dear, just take it in steps, and be rest assured you ll reach the finish line, if you ask me i dont know when and how to finish mine, but i just have to start something and sharing it is fun.

My plot is in Eyean Axis too, by God grace in the near future we will be attend landlord meeting together! lol great day guys.
