Okowa has more electoral value than wike. A delegate election is different from a general election my brother. In the delegate election, a few persons represent everyone while in the general election the sins of your fathers and his fathers before him will be used to sway the minds of voters after all nor be only him get money to spend. Okowa also has oil money to put on the table too. The battle will not be about money at that point but value, respect and acceptability. In the south which we all call wikes fortress, he doesn't have states like Anambra, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, cross river and imo with him. So where is the so-called stronghold for gov wike in the south. Maybe ebonyi, Enugu and Abia.

Okowa as vice did not just happen as they want you to believe. Okowa was picked from the day wike jumped into the ring. Recall the southern PDP govs meeting where they agreed to support one of their own to become the flag bearer. At that time they had no one in mind. At some point, wike came up without consulting his colleagues and went on campaigning vigorously. He did not even see it fit to visit his southern colleagues for their support/buy-in haven betrayed them by not abiding by their collective agreement. Atiku noticed the flaw from the wike's camp and he cornered the govs wike had shown little or no respect. Atiku had Bayelsa, Edo and delta in his kitty till wike fought to wrestle Edo from obaseki's hold. While all of these battles were going on Atiku was busy securing the bags of the above-mentioned states with promises such as VP and other juicy positions. Of the three southern states okowa is the only gov who's tenure ends with that of the incumbent president. Another plus is that Okowa is loved by the Ijaws, who are a strong majority down south, as evident in his relationship with tom polo and EK Clark, Okowa has the financial war chest to support the campaign and most importantly okowa is a simple quiet man who will support rather than fight his boss.
So, my brother, if you think this announcement of today was hatched yesterday you need to glance back to the events leading to the PDP presidential primaries.
In conclusion, it is also important to note that VPs do not necessarily needs to come to the election table with gloves in hands ready to wrestle. The battle is usually between the presidential candidates. The position of a VP is more of supportive.

A fellow SS governor made sure that Nyesom Wike doesn't clinch the PDP ticket. ... This gov is Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state who worked silently to stop Wike. And Okowa is justified for his action. I will explain why.

Wike has been a PDP man since 1998.
He knows Rotation is in his party's DNA.
He knows that if he and other Southern PDP leaders had insisted on Zoning to the SE, it would have happened. But Nyesom Wike diluted zoning for his own gain.

Nyesom Wike knew it was the turn of the SE, yet he betrayed the SE out of greed and selfishness. Twice, the SE had stood solidly with GEJ, SS & PDP. In fact South Easterners are hated so much by Buhari & APC because they gave support to GEJ, SS & PDP.

Now that the SE should be repaid by the SS, Nyesom Wike wouldn't allow it. And fellow SS Gov. Okowa, wasn't happy about it.

So Wike put his personal ambition ahead of the SE zone. Atiku offered to step down if PDP zoned to the South East. But personal ambition wouldn't allow Wike make that concession. So here we are, the whole South is at risk of political slavery.

Finally Wike talks about betrayal. Let it be known that it was Wike that betrayed the South. He is now acting as if he was in it for South. Which South?? His own part of the South produced the last PDP president; why didn’t he support a candidate from the South that hasn't produced a president before (SE).

Instead he was going round shouting ‘give me pawa’.
The South never adopted Wike as their presidential candidate. Instead, he used Rivers state funds & his grip on the PDP to force himself.

He hijacked PDP in the SE, created confusion which forced Peter Obi out of the party. Wike was very selfish. Some govs of SS worked against you, not against the region. You don’t represent the region. I stand with Gov. Okowa for stopping you.

My advise to Wike is to make amends with his brothers in the Southern PDP whom he offended. And redeem himself by supporting the SE.
