Manchester United travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon looking to put a disappointing result in Europe to one side.

The Red Devils took a 2-0 lead against La Liga strugglers Sevilla but a second-half collapse saw the visitors draw level as both Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane were forced off with injuries.

Forest, meanwhile, are 18th in the Premier League and without a win since early February. Victory here, however, could lift Steve Cooper's side as high as 15th.

Nottingham Forest team news
Forest's large squad has a number of injured players, with Chris Wood, Willy Boly and Dean Henderson among the confirmed absentees. There are further doubts over the availability of Cheikhou Kouyate, Renan Lodi, Gustavo Scarpa and Emmanuel Dennis.

Cooper's side managed just two shots on target in the 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa and a change could be made up front with Taiwo Awoniyi coming in.

Nottingham Forest predicted lineup vs Man Utd
Nottingham Forest predicted lineup (3-4-2-1): Navas; Worrall, Felipe, Niakhate; Williams, Shelvey, Freuler, Toffolo; Gibbs-White, Johnson; Awoniyi.

Man Utd team news
Casemiro is available for domestic duty again having served his suspension but manager Erik ten Hag has a number of issues to deal with after Thursday's draw with Sevilla.

Martinez and Varane may miss out, leaving the returning Luke Shaw to partner Harry Maguire in central defence. Marcus Rashford is already out, leaving Ten Hag to choose between Wout Weghorst and Anthony Martial up front.

Bruno Fernandes is suspended for the trip to Sevilla next week so will likely start here.

Man Utd predicted lineup vs Nottingham Forest
Man Utd predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Shaw, Malacia; Casemiro, Fernandes; Antony, Sabitzer, Sancho; Weghorst.

Premier League fixtures, table & top scorers
Nottingham Forest vs Man Utd score prediction
Forest may well be eyeing up a shock triumph here, with United without their first-choice centre back partnership. Cooper's side have been decent at home but were blown away by United 3-1 at the City Ground in the Carabao Cup back in January.

The effects of a packed fixture list are becoming evident for United. They have just hit 50 games played in all competitions and have pivotal games in the Europa League and FA Cup while seeking to secure a top four spot.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea's Premier League home game against Brighton & Hove Albion, caretaker manager Frank Lampard confirmed that Kalidou Koulibaly is out of contention due to injury and suggested there could be changes to his line-up as he manages the fitness of players like N'Golo Kante.

Our next match with Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday comes in a busy spell for Frank Lampard and Chelsea, sandwiched between the two legs of our Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Politics96 Chibok Schgirls Still Missing Despite President Buhari’s Assurance Since 2015 by ogododo(op): 11:15pm On Apr 13, 2023
The #BringBackOurGirls movement has said that it is unfortunate that the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government is winding down without fulfilling his promise of rescuing all the abducted Chibok schoolgirls.

The BBOG on Thursday in a release to mark the ninth year anniversary of the abducted schoolgirls recalled how Buhari at the Eagle’s Square on May 29, 2015, said, “We cannot claim to have defeated Boko Haram without rescuing the Chibok girls and all other innocent persons held hostage by insurgents.”

On April 14, 2014, the Boko Haram terrorists abducted 276 schoolgirls from Government Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State, in an incident which attracted global attention.

The BBOG movement noted on Thursday in its release that “Our hearts remain broken at the failure to close this shameful chapter in our country’s history as promised by President Muhammadu Buhari in his address to the nation in 2015 and various times subsequently.

The last report we received on the status of the Chibok Girls in October 2022 is as follows: 276 Abducted; 57 escaped; 107 released; 16 rescued (by the Military) and 96 still missing.

“We are equally distressed to learn that after a successful campaign by our gallant military in the last two years when they liberated thousands of people including over 12 girls – now women – and handed them over to the Borno State Government, our daughters and sisters remain in the custody of the State and have not been properly reunited with their families or back in control of their lives now that they are out of the hands of the terrorists. Have our girls escaped one form of captivity only to spend 6 months to one and a half years in a different form of captivity? What crime have they committed? Why are survivors of unimaginable trauma being treated this way?

“We appeal and demand that the President fulfils his promise to his daughters from Chibok, to Leah Sharibu, his daughter from Dapchi and other victims of insurgency, bandits and kidnappers and rescue them before his term of office ends on May 29, 2023. The rescue and rehabilitation of our daughters whose education was interrupted and the restoration of peace in their communities will be an undeniable legacy of President Buhari’s administration.

“Our Nine Demands at 9 years; Bring back our girls before May 29, 2023. A push to finally defeat Boko Haram, ISWAP, and liberate all our citizens

“Accountability from the Borno State Government. A full report and debriefing for the parents on the status, academic plans and wishes of the rescued girls, women and children in their custody.

“Provide closure for parents on the fate of their daughters who they have reason to believe are dead. Psycho-social support for Chibok and other conflict-affected families of abducted students to address the trauma to families; equipping and completion of their education, shelter, and empowerment to earn a living.

“Equip and motivate the police and armed forces and see to their welfare and proper care for the families of officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Reinvest in the Victims Support Fund (VSF) to care for the practical needs of all returned and rescued girls, siblings and family members of girls. The federal government has seemingly abandoned VSF to the management of one generous citizen.

“Public statement on the Missing Persons Register and immediate reopening of a properly resourced and staffed Missing Persons Desk at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). Report on the coordinated provision of security for schools – primary, secondary, and higher education at local, state and federal levels.

“Status report on the Safe Schools Initiative and adequate financing to ensure its effectiveness. BBOG will commemorate 9 years since the abduction as follows:Friday 14th April, 4:30pm – 5:30pm WAT, Unity Fountain, Abuja; Chibok Community (KADA) Media Conference.”

The assailants stormed Sabon Layi town on Wednesday morning, shooting sporadically, a Birnin Gwari resident told BBC Hausa.

The resident told the outlet that the gunmen had been seen the previous day moving freely around the community but nobody knew their mission until they struck at about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to the resident, nine people were killed, four of whom are members of the vigilante group members. No fewer than twenty five people were also abducted alongside a large number of cattle and sheep.

The Kaduna State government said Air Force jets had already been dispatched to survey the area in collaboration with other security operatives who are in pursuit of the bandits.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Wolves Vs Chelsea (1 - 0) On 8th April 2023 by ogododo(op): 7:50pm On Apr 06, 2023
Speaking to the media after being confirmed as Chelsea's caretaker manager, Frank Lampard shared his first impressions of his new squad and the message he would like to give the Blues supporters.

Frank Lampard, who is beginning his second spell in the Chelsea dug-out, in addition to his illustrious playing career at Stamford Bridge, was confirmed in his new role today, meaning he is yet to have a chance to lead his team in training at Cobham ahead of his first match at Wolverhampton Wanderers in Saturday's Premier League fixture.

However, he was in the stands at the Bridge on Tuesday evening to witness our 0-0 draw with Liverpool and discussed what he expects to find in his squad, as well as one of the most pressing issues he will want to address.

'I was at the game on Tuesday night, I know there’s a lot of talent in this squad, not just the players who played on Tuesday but generally,' said Lampard. 'I’m excited to work with that talent and help them and that’s why I’m here.

'Modern day football has big squads and I understand that Chelsea might be at the top end of that. I remember being here before and I had lots of difficult decisions with really good players and people you have to tell they aren’t involved this week. Part of the job is to try to manage that situation and make every player feel included.

Lampard watches our goalless draw with Liverpool from the stands
'Maybe at the beginning going into this that’s a positive for me, because everybody can have a clean slate right now and show what they can do in training, be competitive in training with a competitive nature that will then cross over onto the pitch. That’s the good thing about a squad, you push each other and I’ll try to manage that.

'In terms of goal scoring, there’s no genius answer by a coach to explain about scoring goals. You can set up the structure of a team, work to get a team in a dominant area of the pitch a lot and we saw that against Liverpool, a lot of good chances. All I’ll do here is work with repetition on the training ground, in terms of speaking with the players. Fortunately it was a big part of my game. That’s not comparing anything, that’s just understanding the mindset that it takes to be that aggressive, cold-hearted nature to want to score goals. I know the players will have that, it’s just a case of directing that in the right way.'

Wolves vs Chelsea Lampard's message to the fans
Before he takes to the dug-out in front of the Chelsea supporters again at Molineux on Saturday, Lampard was asked if there was anything he would like to say to the Blues fans, who he has always enjoyed a good relationship with from his days as a player in west London.

'I’m very thankful for the ones that are delighted I am back. If there are some that aren’t delighted, they can know I will work my utmost to get the team to where I want it to be and to give them a team they’re proud of.

Lampard bids farewell to the Bridge after his last game as a Chelsea player in 2014
Lampard bids farewell to the Bridge after his last game as a Chelsea player in 2014
'Without wanting it to sound too casual, I don’t think I need to speak too much about my relationship with the Chelsea fans. I played here for 13 years, I coached here, I had a lot of incredible moments and some difficult moments, because that’s football, but from the moment I joined this club many years ago they’ve been a huge support to me and I’m forever thankful for that.

'So if I can be here, if I can help this club and we can come together, we can feel those days and nights at Stamford Bridge and feel the energy in this period of the season, that’s what I’m here to try to do.'

Wolves vs Chelsea Mason Mount update
One member of the current Chelsea squad who Lampard already knows well is Mason Mount, who our new caretaker manager handed a Blues debut in 2019, having previously worked together at Derby County.

Mount has had issues with injury this season, but Lampard is hopeful of having the Academy graduate back on the pitch and performing at his best soon.

'Mason has always been a fantastic player for me, from my days at Derby, the impact he had there, to when I came back to Chelsea. It’s with absolute pleasure that I’ve watched him and others that I coached in that period – like Reece James, Tammy Abraham, Fikayo Tomori and others – to have gone and been huge players either here or elsewhere.

Lampard and Mount during their first spell working together at Chelsea
Lampard and Mount during their first spell working together at Chelsea
'With Mason I know he’s had a few slight injury problems as I understand it. The important thing for me will be to talk to him and find out where he’s at but I know what I get from Mason. So I just want to see him perform on the pitch and we have a good relationship so we’ll talk a lot. I think he’s a huge player for Chelsea and has been during his time here.'

Wolves vs Chelsea injury list
Cesar Azpilicueta has been unavailable since going off with a head injury against Southampton in February. Thiago Silva and Armando Broja remain out of action as they continue their rehabilitation from injury, while there are doubts over the availability of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who also missed the mid-week draw with Liverpool.

Wolves' Sasa Kalajdzic and Chiquinho have both been ruled out for the remainder of this season with serious knee injuries. Boubacar Traore and Hwang Hee-Chan also missed their last game, but it is hoped they could return at Stamford Bridge.

Wolves vs Chelsea suspension
Wolverhampton Wanderers have Ruben Neves suspended for this game after picking up his 10th booking of the season in their 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday, as is Jonny Otto after receiving a straight red card in their previous match against Leeds United. There are no Chelsea players ruled out by suspension.

Players who accumulate 10 yellow cards in Premier League matches up to and including our 32nd fixture will serve a two-match suspension in the competition.
PoliticsI’m Too Old To Keep Quiet, Ethnic Division Must End – Obasanjo by ogododo(op): 2:03pm On Apr 06, 2023
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said the incoming administration must explore all avenues at ending ethnic division that emanated from the 2023 general elections.

Obasanjo stated this while speaking at a conference, themed, “From Elections to Governance and Performance,” organised by Nextier and the Ibadan School of Governance and Public Policy in Abuja on Thursday.

The former president noted that with challenges facing the country, he is nowtoo old to keep quiet,” stating that he would continue to voice concerns for the benefit of the nation.

He noted that the incoming government must work to facilitate national moral rearmament and reconciliation, following the divisiveness occasioned by the just concluded general elections.

According to Obasanjo, the move has the potential to bring about healing and to assuage Nigerian youths who were angered by the shortcomings of the elections.

He said governance in Nigeria now required thinking outside the box, to rescue the nation, in terms of its plunging economy and huge national debt burden, adding that there must also be the political will and action, as well as administrative efforts, to reform the public service, and turn it into a capability-ready unit.

It was a sad day for men of Lagos State Police Command today, as a yet-to-be-identified policeman was allegedly killed by commercial motorcyclists, commonly known as okada riders, on the Apapa-Oshodi expressway.

According to a motorcyclist named Rasheed, the policeman had shot at an okada rider, but the bullet did not penetrate.

The okada rider then allegedly retaliated by macheting the police officer.

Rasheed said: “For a long time, police have been disturbing okada riders on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway.

“So today (Wednesday), some policemen took area boys with them to assist in chasing the bike men.

“Some of the okada riders resisted and fought with the area boys in anger, while carrying cutlasses which led to the police officer sporadically shooting at the motorcyclists.

When the bullet failed to penetrate, one of the okada riders allegedly used a machete to attack the police officer.”

When Vanguard arrived the scene, there were no motorcyclists in sight, as everyone had fled the area after the incident.

A trader, who witnessed the incident, also claimed that the riders were seen carrying objects such as cutlasses, sticks, and iron rods as they fled from the police and the area boys to avoid arrest.

Efforts to reach the Lagos State Police spokesman proved abortive as his phone number was unreachable at the time of filing this report.
