This could be really dicey for Amosun and his crew because with this brazen move, he has effectively lost his erstwhile control of the APC structure in Ogun. Osoba and Bode Mustapha (both Egbas) are ever ready to take over and seize control of that structure.

A Buhari victory (since the presidential election will come first) will likely tilt the likelihood and momentum of victory in Abiodun's favour in spite of Amosun's rebellion against his party.

It is now certain that Yewa votes will be split between GNI, Abiodun, and Akinlade. Ogun Central and Ogun East votes will also be hard fought by the major parties. Right now it's still too close to call, but my gut tells me APC will carry the day.

after 2019 election Amosun will become politically irrelevant. presidential election first, buhari wins, other elections follow that order, 2003 comes to mind.

Amosun has just shot himself on the foot. politicians don't care about history. 2003 the West agreed to vote obasanjo PDP as president and vote AD in other elections. that decision backfired as illiterate voters didn't understand the arrangement and they went all hog for obasanjo's PDP and the south west fell to PDP except Lagos that has reasonably enlightened voters. the script is being played out here. Amosun is contesting under the platform of ApC and he will campaign for APC and the same time confusing the people about APM which the people will not understand.

NW - Buhari
NE - Atiku
NC - Atiku (too many Fulani killings that NC can never vote Buhari)
SE - Atiku (if Obi is indeed VP)
SS - Atiku (time to take vengeance on the loss by GEJ)
SW - 50% Buhari and 50% Atiku (especially if SW get the Senate presidency)
