Mortiple:. What a wonderful contribution! You have said it all. |
ziddy:. Me too. Now, it will be one story to another before the policeman would be freed. |
Okija_juju:. So, what about RCCG? |
5.30pm Nigerian time. |
What exactly is Tudor up to here? I seem not to understand her stance on this topic. |
Mr Gunnu:. In as much as i don't agree with Tudor in her comments, but i bet to disassociate myself from the way you have painted Tudor. There is freedom of expression and opinion. So, please sir let's take it easy. |
Honestly, i still don't understand this noise about Akingbola donating the so called looted money the RCCG. Is really embarrassing. |
@Tudor What exactly is your point here? On what grounds are you accusing the RCCG? |
Tudór:. And how will RCCG determine offerings from stolen money? Or How could RCCG have known that Akingbola was a thief and his offerings from that stolen money before the EFCC went after him? |
I asked this question before, no answer was provided. Am going to ask again; how much of the loot from Akingbola and Ibru was given to RCCG by way of offerings? .If we are able to ascertain, then let's call EFCC ![]() |
Gentlemen and ladies, please can anybody tell me the exact money the duo donated to the RCCG? Are there any of such records to show that they donated any money at all to the RCCG? What exactly informed the poster in bringing up this hilarious topic? We are just busy pursuing shadows here and beating the air ![]() |
INEC wants N55b for voters register The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Attahiru Jega , thursday said the commission would require ₦55.1 billion to organise a “substantially more credible” voters register ahead of the 2011 general election. Jega who told a delegation of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), which paid him a courtesy visit earlier today said “We can use ₦55 billion as the cost of equipment alone if we buy directly from the manufacturers since it will cost 2,000 dollars per unit. He explained that the equipment “will be a laptop-based unit plus the accessories for finger printing and a high resolution camera that can capture the pictures and complete the entire exercise within a maximum of 15 to 20 minutes.” He however noted that a review of the procurement process will save about ₦16 billion. He noted the problems that bedevilled the process in 2006,“As soon as the contract was signed with credible partners, they were abandoned and fake equipment was purchased, some with expired licences and that was what affected the voter registration exercise in 2006”. |
Lagerback dumps Nigeria …Siasia is Eagles’ new coach By Richard Jideaka, Abuja Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Lars Edvin Lagerback, has turned down an offer by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for a fresh contract to continue with the job for a four-year deal. Lagerback’s five months contract as Super Eagles’ coach expires at the end of this month and the NFF and the PTF who picked his bill were impressed with his performance at the World Cup and were ready to offer him a four-year deal to rebuild the Eagles but the Sweden’s former manager, who returned to his native land after the shameful exit of the Eagles, said he was not interested. Acting President of the NFF, Alhaji Aminu Maigari, told Daily Sunsport that Lagerback after several attempts to speak with him finally called to inform him that he was sorry to reject the offer. “Lagerback has told me that he could not continue as the coach of Super Eagles because he feared that he might not be able to sign a four-year deal that would keep him in Nigeria for that long. He thanked the NFF for the opportunity given him to take the Eagles to the World Cup. “He said that the experience was worth it and that he would always remember Nigeria and her good people. He also said that family opinion also made him turn down the job and wished Eagles well”, Alhaji Maigari said. The NFF boss stated further that Lagerback also regretted his inability to come down to Nigeria to say a final goodbye and that he would send his technical report to the secretariat through the internet next week Alhaji Maigari also disclosed that following the exit of Lagerback that the NFF board has decided to offer Samson Siasia the job to tinker the Super Eagles for the next four years as chief coach. “We have had talks with Siasia and I must tell you that it was fruitful and all things being equal, he would put pen on paper next month subject to negotiation. Siasia is the coach Nigerians want and we shall give him all the support to succeed in this new job” Maigari stressed. The finance committee’s former chairman of the NFF said that Eguavoen Austin would lead the Eagles to South Korea for the friendly after which he would take charge of the Under-23 squad, while Siasia would be in charge of the Eagles in the Nations Cup qualifying match against Madagascar in september. |

‘Nigerian soldiers fathered 250,000 kids in Liberia’ From JAMES OJO, Abuja Nigerian soldiers who served in the ECOWAS monitoringgroup (ECOMOG) peace-keeping force during Liberia’s fatricidal war fathered over 250,000 children in that country. Director-General of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA), Dr. Sule Yakubu Bassi, who made the revelation to the House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora, urged the lawmakers to prepare to visit Monrovia on the issue. At an interactive session with the committee, led by Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa yesterday, Dr Bassi said over 250,000 children had been born to soldiers, who participated in the ECOMOG operations from Nigeria. He stated that records showed that the oldest of the abandoned children was 16 years. The ECOWAS Monitoring Group was formed by the regime of Ibrahim Babangida as the military president as an intervention force to restore peace in war-torn Liberia in 1990. What was worrisome, according to him, was that majority of the children did not know their fathers, while their mothers had been making frantic efforts to locate the fathers of their children, most of whom had returned to Nigeria. “The mothers are trying to make sure they (children) are properly documented as Nigerian Liberian and so on,” he said. The DTCA boss revealed that the Committee on Diaspora had agreed to undertake a visit to Liberia on a fact-finding mission, because the matter was outside the purview of the directorate. “We deal with matters relating to people above 40 years, but I can tell you that our Embassy in Liberia is handling issues like this. “Hon. Dabiri-Erewa is going to undertake a trip to Liberia to find out what is happening; how we can engage with them and the like, as a government; we can’t run away fromour people; they are our people; they are still young and they need schooling and they will also need to be nurtured just like every other Nigerians,” he said. Apart from the abandoned children in Liberia, Bassi also told the committee that there were 17 million Nigerians in Diaspora. He informed the House that the directorate had a data base capturing Nigerians, who are experts in various fields, adding that a consortium of Nigerian engineers were currently building a rail line in Baghdad, Iraq. Meanwhile, the Nigerian community in Gabon has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to visit the country. The request was made by the president of the community, Mr Babatunde Yekini, when he led a delegation to the Committee on Diaspora. He stated that such a visit would improve the relationship between Gabon and Nigeria and also douse the tension building up over allegations that Nigerians were encouraging illegal immigrants. Yekini told the committee that there were 10,860 legal immigrants and over 200,000 illegal immigrants registered with the community, adding that more illegal immigrants were entering Gabon through Nigerian waterways in Oron, Eket Ibino and James Town. Mrs Dabiri-Erewa assured Nigerians in Gabon that the Federal Government would look into their requests and urged them to conduct themselves within the ambit of the law. She asked them to take advantage of their numerical strength to further improve the relationship between Nigeria and Gabon. She also assured the DTCA that the issue of children fathered by Nigerian soldiers would be looked into. |
ochukoccna:. Yes, i did. It was master piece. |
KokoBeware:. Me think this story is distorted sort of, ![]() |
Different strokes for different people really. I have heard and witnessed the excesses of these Lastma guys. But i have been very lucky with them really. My car broke down along Ikorodu road, close to Ojuelegbe. 5 of them came and helped to push it off the road to a safe place. Then at another time, still along Ikorodu road my car just stopped. 3 Lastma guys came, assisted me and the car started working again. Is rare anyway. But i think i have been very fortunate with them twice. |
Emmy Boy:. Where did u get this from my guy? ![]() Abeg, i no fit laugh ooo, Too early abeg ![]() |
12large:. Why are u abusive? Common be matured my friend. You posted a faulted thread, people are trying to make their logical and reasonable contributions and u are being sarcastic. How would u rate Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger? Bad coach or good coach? Do u know that as good and world class that man is; he has not won any silverware since 2005? Siasia remains a good coach and of course the best in Nigeria whether Heartland qualifies or not. |
No journalist has clean hands in Nigeria, What a shame! |
Emperoh:. GBAM! As if one deliberately breaks down his vehicle on highway ![]() |
Na wa ooo. We are yet to hear the truth of this story. |
But is funny that at this age someone could post this yeye story without live pictures to back it up as he claimed he saw it with his korokoro eyes! .I see it as nothing but a fabricated story. Hissssssssssssssssssssssssssss ![]() |
For your information Poster, that Al-Ahly team can take our super eagles to the cleaners. Believe it or not. About 8 or so of them were in the Egyptian team that played against Super Eagles in Angola 2010 and we lost 1-3. Am even sure Heartland will go there and get good results. |
Eastbay:. I just cannot understand why he posted this biased stuff. Am sure he has some personal grudges against Siasia ![]() |
chidichris:U cannot compare Amodu with Maradona now, haba! Amodu is thousands of miles better ![]() |
How is he ruing his image? He has played just one match out of 6 matches and he drew it. 5 more matches to go, who says that Heartland can't go to Egypt and come out with good results and win their remaining 5 matches? Even if Heartland fails to qualify anyway, Siasia remains a good coach. Nothing can't be taken away from that fact. |
texazzpete:. U can not compare athletics with football. The popularity and sponsorships are very different. U can not also compare the money paid to super eagles with what the Falconets are being paid. How many corporate bodies are willing to sponsor them or how many of them have sponsored them really? Only Galaxy Tv is showing their matches so far, there is not a single advert before, during and after the matches they have played so far. That aside, how much is FIFA committing to it anyway? In as much as i don't support disregard of these ladies, i do not agree that because they are not paid well, therefore they are being treated shabbily. |
