Lol... You know this probability is very low. Even lots of people who get lump sum in the oil and gas industry at retirement, many of them go into penury in no distant time, it is not an easy transition from monthly salary income into a one time lump sum. With no previous investment experience, many of such folks will fall into the temptation of high yield investments and lose most if not all of that money in a short time. I tell you that the first thing some will do is to start building a house on that money, then they will have an uncompleted house on their hands and no cash flow. Majority will go into a spending spree, finish the money and start insulting the system and government. If they will be richer, let them use the 10M lump sum to achieve that while the extra 10M serves as insurance. If you non first sabi manage and invest money wen u de work, u can hardly learn it in retirement Very similar to lottery winners when they get a lump sum. OgogoroFreak: Some would be richer in 3years time. |

Exactly with the bolded. license na administrative issue, question is what really happened. AerialMapper: Everybody was calling the pilot a hero; talking bout how he dumped fuel to prevent an explosion.
The report has shown that the helicopter had no capacity to jettison fuel and that there was no fuel in the tank.. so what could have happened?
Faulty gauge? Higher consumption than calculated? Under-fueling?
This has nothing to do with the validity of the pilots license; why was the tank empty? |
Travel › Re: Crashed Bell Helicopter Pilot Had No Valid License - AIB by ojesymsym: 8:32am On Sep 22, 2020 |
Not having a license is not the cause of the crash because it does not mean that he does not know how to operate the plane. Many pilots for Pakistan non get license yet they non de crash plane. If you read the story, one of the license they are talking about expired in August and was probably not renewed because of the lockdown, not like the guy suddenly forgot how to fly when his license expired. License expiring is an administrative procedure, but the question is why did the chopper crash? How did a chopper with no capacity to discharge fuel mid air end up with no fuel after it was claimed to have refilled. Just my no-aviation competence thoughts |

If you earn in Naira and most of your transactions are in Naira, the impact is less. The impact is worse for someone who brings in $10,000 at N160 around 2014 and wants to repatriate 6 years later at N450. My point is that, there was no need to convert so much into naira in the first place if you do not have a strong need for it in naira. Phraences: If 1 naira was 1 dollar, nobody would really care. But when you earn in naira and save in naira, isn't the value of your savings in the real world affected every time the naira depreciates? Cos the naira depreciates in relation to another currency. Exam fees priced in dollars, imported products priced in dollars and anything originally priced in dollars, you need more naira to buy those things. The other day, someone mentioned that price of weavons she imports from China have now increased. |

But I believe you guys keep making the mistake of thinking you can move money between two currencies easily. Apart from devaluation there are currency conversion loses. If you want to invest in naira, have a definite amount for that and then invest where you are. Having money in naira and thinking of it in USD will only lead to heart ache. The person who got his money in naira and invest in naira only has to worry about inflation and even the effect of that sef is over rated if you ask me. XiaoLi: Yes i bought some usd then with my matured tbills, it escaped my mind to terminate other of my tbills and convert them to usd, now that single mistake is haunting me... |

XiaoLi: I am just managing 5% in commercial paper and low rates in other investments while waiting for dollars to drop so that i can convert all my naira to dollars, I will never keep more than 10M in naira again once dollar drops and this is the last time i will be caught in naira devaluation, tbills, mmf, cp e.t.c in Nigeria doesn't worth it..once there is a devaluation you will lose all the gains and even some of your capital. |

To everyone who said "just hire an assistant", If you've ever owned a business you will know especially in this kind of setup, that is the beginning of the end. For quality control, he needs to handle it all himself until he can hire multiple people as checks and balances against each other. Even then they may still collude but if he's lucky like we've been, as long as some are good and loyal, the rest will watch their step. |

Kai... See how you just came up with a solution. Amd, please here is a great option for you bro experiment with. A virtual assistant will help you filter serious immediate buyers from future buyers. I believe even the so called unserious ones will either be serious very soon or can refer other serious buyers. @agarawa, I admire this your very practical solution. We are many that want AMD to succeed. agarawu23: he can..... He can open another WhatsApp with new number, update us here and employ someone to attend to it. Then the assistance will push serious buyers to amdman and he starts purchasing process. because we have so many time wasters disturbing him when they are still planning to buy car next year and he will keep ignoring both serious and unserious clients.
He can't do that business alone at this level unless he wants to win some and lose some.
He has a lot of work to do on his communication.....every potential customer needs fast reply which will give them more confidence of getting to him when they need him (since we all know his available hours due to time difference) |
Autos › Re: N1,200,000 or Less Tokunbo Cars by ojesymsym: 6:57am On Sep 19, 2020 |
This exactly is where the problem lies, unlike emails where you can simply employ someone to help you manage and both of you can manage it at same time, I do not think that you can do the same with whatsapp. With whatsapp, it is just one person that can handle that account at a time. I really hope he finds a solution that can help him scale. agarawu23: I messaged him for same car I bought from him and the potential buyer was with me for 3 days ready to buy. No be everybody get that kind patient. Amdman didn't reply me until after 5 days.
If amdman cant work on his customer service and employ someone to attend to his WhatsApp chat, then someone else can come in to fill his weakness and make sales has he does... |

This matter seems to have been treated in an earlier thread some years: https://www.nairaland.com/4480441/lagos-danfo-buses-now-useubcandid: LPG - which is either propane or butane, or a mix of them, is what we use as cooking gas in Nigeria. FG is advocating deployment of CNG (COMPRESSED NATURAL GAS) as a substitute for petrol in cars. CNG and LPG both have different properties and storage methods. They are not the same. See quote below laudate: LPG is not only used for cooking. Guy, both CNG and LPG can be used to power or fuel cars. It depends on the type of conversion kit, used in your vehicle. In Lagos, there are more stations selling LPG autogas, than CNG autogas. Secondly, it is easier to transport LPG autogas from the gas depot using gas haulage trucks, than it is to transport CNG autogas from a depot/CNG mother station to a retail station, using specialised cascades.
It is cheaper, and more environmentally friendly to run your cars on autogas than petrol. The conversion process, turns your vehicle into a dual-fuel one, which means you can either use petrol or gas to fuel the car. In times of fuel scarcity, this is always a good thing, because instead of queuing at petrol stations for ages, you can simply switch to gas and go on your way. For some conversion kits however, you still need to have a small quantity of petrol in your tank, before you can switch over to gas, in order to power your vehicle. |

Hmmm... Some things we take for granted. emmanuelewumi: Very important to use the same name sequence in all our records, certificates, BVN,account name, driver's license, national ID card, international passport, ownership of properties like houses, shares , cars etc sophy17: Some mistakes are just costly, unpardonable and with severe consequence. Simply changing the name to allign with the register was not the issue but providing the documents/proof with which to support it. Hence, in the recent times, human educational records are now collected/supported in several ways such as passport photograph, biometrics, etc and not just the name.
In the instant case, the only proof of him they have, is his name in their register as it is. Meanwhile he brought his documents showing his name written in another form different from the name in their register. |

Thanks a lot. The explanations, drawings and pictures have all helped to clear up the confusion. essegis: Terminals on the battery relate to the individual cells that make it up. Each comes with their positive & negative terminal which you have to parallel to get the full AH as printed on the battery. Number of cells is determined by the amount of AH on offer.
From here you connect in series to make up your desired bank voltage. Remember the batteries are nominal 2v. Quite easy to get around though. mctfopt: Don't be confused, each side (made up of three terminals) is either positive or negative. But this is a massive capacity so only one terminal won't be enough to handle the current that can be drawn from it.
Notice how someone used a long bar on first battery to join the battery terminal. On second attached picture you can see that is a 48v system if you follow the connection, just assume each three cables coming from each battery is one to further simplify it. GeorgeD1: i see that essegis already answered you earlier.
in addition, you can always check the product data sheet for the correct battery terminal connection sequence. where i had issues personally was how to connect both ends of the curve, since i had mine in a double row fashion. for this i spent countless hours searching youtube videos of different types of 2v battery connections without success until i eventually figured it out by myself. |
