Do you think this your AC can be hooked into Home Assistant or controlled with node red?

@Adrusa and other automation experts, are there ACs that one can regulate the temperatures based on the state of charge of the batteries? So that as the sun is going down, we can start increasing the AC temperature and reduce the cycling time.

Xanderone:
Update on the AC:

So I toyed around with some of the functions few hours ago.

° Immediately after turning it on, I started by running it in Jet mode to rapidly cool down the room. Consumption ramped up to the usual 1070w -ish. The room cooled down from 30deg to 27deg in about 30 minutes after which the Jet mode then automatically (as is indicated in the manual) changed from Jet mode to regular mode. The indicator on the remote control also indicated the change.

° At that point, the consumption had dropped to 940w and another one hour it dropped further to 840 watts. At this point I pressed the "Gen mode" button repeatedly but expectedly no obvious response or change in consumption.

° Next, I fondled with the "mode" button and to select the "Automatic mode" on the remote. Then following the manual instructions on the use of the mode function (picture attached), I selected "number 2" (keep room cold), and the internal fan ramped down its speed but the vanes kept moving and I also noticed that the external unit fan also stopped and the consumption dropped to 15w. It remained at 15w for about 30 minutes after which I drove out somewhere and left it on but monitoring the consumption on the phone. Apparently it was recirculating the already cold air that is in the room.

° Another one hour and I noticed that the consumption had ramped up to 271w and stayed there. Since I wasn't at home, I couldn't tell what was going on. I came home after 2 hours and noticed that the external unit had kicked in, and was probably responsible for that ramp up to 271w from the initial 15w. The room temperature remained at between 26deg to 27deg. It's four hours after and the consumption had further dipped to 267w

It seems there is something "energy saving" about this unit after all. Although I assume temperatures still get to as low as 18 deg with these ACs, the 26 degrees notwithstanding is adequate for a lone me in the room.

I guess cos of that "automatic mode", if it again senses ambient temperature rise due to presence of increased number of people in the room, it will likely ramp up the consumption further to do the job to maintain the expected cooling temperature.

NB: Pardon the long story. I just felt being detailed enough helps to inform readers, and maybe prospective users, better on these things.

Seriously, how do you achieve this with JK and JBD BMS for example. I am sure I will need this for starters. Maybe you can also show how to achieve this with Axpert inverters.

This will be very very useful

I personally do not think that those so called yahoo boys are hyper tech smart like that. The major loop holes they look for are the ones made by the owner of the account rather than been able to hack the bank system itself. That guy non be like who even know about chat GPT not to talk of being able to make API calls.

There is no way in this world that that guy in that video will understand lesson 1 in ethical hacking not to talk of becoming a hacker. The truth is that Nigeria is one of the few places in the world with the most access to your account remotely and being able to do the level of transaction outside the banking hall as we are able to do here .

So banks usually have to joggle with letting you have as much remote access as you want and still devising ways to ensure that only you or a person you willingly or otherwise allow to access your account.

They use security layers like 'what only you should know' eg password, BVN, date of birth, 'What only you should have' eg token and then another banks like GTB put another secure question for transfers different from login password to your internet banking.

However, I have heard stories of people looking at their ATM and their token in their front like this and money zapping out from their account, na those ones I never understand but I am convinced that these kind of guys in that video and many of them fronting software, software (which I believe is a database they have been collecting for a while) do not know any IT jack.

Someone has said unlike other banks that have added security layer for pin reset, access just uses otp, if that's true, it explains the whole situation which is what I wanted, but then it shows a weak system design on their part. And about advantages and all, security usually takes precedence over convenience.

Then again, someone said, while this whole situation may notale sense, just set up sim lock to protect yourself.

This is so unlike the you I used to know sha.... You have become really aggressive on this matter. Believe when I say this is unlike you. I remember you from years back when you insisted that naira will improve in the days of Meffy, even in the height of provocation, you kept your cool, but on this one you seem to have gone paranoia. Yes Paranoia.

Anyway, sorry for money loss....

I always try to follow the arguments of when money is lost and even when questions asked. Like I am following streetinvestor line of question also to know my own vulnerabilities. There are some fraud cases I read and I am like, e go hard for me to fall for that one, then there are others and I am like, mhen I could easily have fallen for this one o...

Anyway, it is your call.

awesomeJ:
Your use of the word "paranoia" is out of place.

If you read the thread well, you would see where someone (davit) suggested sim lock, and how I reacted.

The fact that someone else makes a lame argument that having access to my sim means having 90% access to my account, and I refute doesn't mean you should be quick to use wrong vocabulary.

His entire arguments are lame.
I lost my sim, and my money at GTB was entirely intact, that already proves his funny 90% argument as faulty.

You should be open to ideas as well, but smart ones, not just any ideas thrown at you. You have to be smart enough to sieve out the incoherent ones.

This is so unlike you, you are usually calm and ready to listen but this time you seem really paranoia, you are trying to find the root cause of venerability, but at least be open to alternative ideas.

I have been in a situation where I wanted clarification also, even though in my case I wasn't duped but an attempt was made. I even opened a thread on it then. https://www.nairaland.com/6779196/bvn-fraud-encounter-fraudsters
awesomeJ:
Any bank who uses this weak system you describe is weak and undeserving of even a microfinance banking license.
In your funny imagination, anyone can just click reset PIN, and type in anything they like to reset my PIN? you must think the banks are fools.

In my experience, to reset your PIN at GTB for instance, you need to know the answer to a secret question, without which, you'll have to visit a branch for a physical reset. Stanbic too would require a physical visit for PIN reset if I remember correctly.

Basically, contrary to your inexperienced idea about these authorizations, any OTP sent to your line for PIN reset would only be possible after you've either provided an old PIN, your ATM PIN, an answer to a secret question, or gone to the bank for physical bimetric verification. You're extremely wrong in thinking any bank has a system that just lets you reset a PIn just cos you clicked a link, without having any other form of authorization.

Stop peddling ignorance, If you have an experience contrary to what I described, narrate.

This is a good time for folks to learn first aid about choking.

What is the advised first aid technique for choking?
A series of back blows and under-the-diaphragm abdominal thrusts are advised for adults and children over age one year who are choking on a piece of food or a foreign object and are conscious. Choking is when a person can't speak, cough, or breathe because something is blocking (obstructing) the airway. No air can get through. If the airway stays blocked, it can lead to a loss of consciousness and death. When applying the abdominal thrusts, be careful not to use too much force so you don't damage the ribs or internal organs. If the person is unconscious, use chest compressions.

First, perform a series of 5 back blows.

If you are able, gently lean the person forward so their upper body is parallel with the ground. Use one arm across the person's chest for support. If the person is a child, kneel down behind them.
Use the heel of your free hand to give 5 quick thumps (back blows) between the person's shoulder blades.
https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/-/media/images/health/3_-wellness/first-aid-and-safety/choking-process.jpg

Then perform 5 abdominal thrusts. Abdominal thrusts lift the diaphragm. They force enough air from the lungs to create an artificial cough. This cough helps move air through the windpipe, pushing and expelling the obstruction out of the airway and mouth:

Reach around the person's waist.

Position one clenched fist above the navel (belly button) and below the rib cage.

Grasp your fist with your other hand. Pull the clenched fist sharply and directly backward and upward under the rib cage 5 times quickly.

If the person is obese or in late pregnancy, give chest thrusts.

Keep doing back blows and abdominal thrusts without stopping until the obstruction is relieved, the person becomes unconscious, or advanced life support is available. In either case, the person should be examined by a healthcare provider as soon as possible.

Man standing behind woman with arms around her waist. Inset shows his fist next to her upper abdomen and his other hand flattened and ready to cover his fist. Man standing behind woman with arms around her waist and fist at her upper abdomen, with other hand flat on fist. Arrow shows him pressing in and up with his fist. Blockage is being expelled from woman's mouth.

If you are by yourself and choking, you can do thrusts on yourself. Or you can thrust your upper abdomen against the back of a chair or the edge of a counter.

To minimize possible harm, back blows and abdominal thrusts should only be used in actual emergencies when it is sure that the person is choking. Use this method only in adults and children over 1 year old.

A different method is used in infants under 1 year old. Discuss the correct first aid choking method for your child with their healthcare provider.

ositadima1:
Why is that so? Did you catch any inaccuracies in my mini-lecture? It is simple enough. All over the world, when purchasing government treasury bills, you don't pay the face value; you pay the discounted value. Then, at maturity, you get the face value.

So, paying the face value and getting a discount on the bid day in Nigerian banks is actually what I explained. The other point is about yield. Whether it's a treasury bill or any other form of investment, the yield is the return divided by the investment.

Don't come here and badmouth my consultancy business if you don't have any reason to do so. You don't need to like me, okay? grin grin grin grin cheesy cheesy wink wink

lol... Based on this your explanation, failure rate go high.

ositadima1:
Now, pay attention to my mini masterclass in personal finance.

You invested 100,000 in Treasury Bills at a 16% discount rate. They pay 16,000 upfront (that is, at the start of the tenure, they return 16,000 to you). Effectively, they collected 84,000 from you, and at the end of the tenure, they pay you 100,000 (they call this the face value).

Now, pay attention very carefully, I am about to say something very important.

Yield is the extra money you get divided by initial investment. You invested 84,000 for the tenure and got an extra 16,000. The yield should be 19%, while the discount rate is 16%.

There will be a final exam on Monday. wink cheesy

What is the best way to discharge the particular set of cells? He has to also know how to identify which is which.

But the chances of high current fires would depends on both you, the installer, the wires, the breakers, the batteries, etc. Too much to risk. You're better off pitching sides with low current high voltage than high current low voltage. These are my opinions. Never been shocked by DC but A/C, one too many times. Stay safe.

I have been in this situation before, what I had to do was charge the batteries without the BMS to bring up the voltage above the cutoff point, after which I was able to turn it back on on the app.

Sometimes it is that straight forward, sometimes it is not. When it is not, I lose track of what eventually I did to make it work but just know that when you get the voltage up, everything else you now need to do is within the app itsellf

Hello, my JBD BMS will not allow charge or discharge and this happened after my 24V LIFEPO4 battery drained to zero percent (0%) (from Xiaoxing app). When the BMS is connected to the SCC, the voltage will rise quickly and register full charge delivering 0 amps. I charge it directly via the SCC to about 36% and still the BMS did not start. When I connected the load via inverter the voltage of 26.1V quickly drained to 17.3v and the inverter disconnected.
The specs of the BMS is (AP 20S006 20S 200A).
I tested charging the battery pack directly with SCC and also discharging with an inverter and it works.
It means it is the BMS that is the issue. I tried jump starting but it did not work or I didn't do it correctly.
Kindly help with the solution.

This values are usually not static and so mostly only the bank can give you what they have available as at the time they send you the mail. Sometimes, by the time you are ready that particular one you are interested in may no longer be available, you may now have a better offer or one that is less than what you were previously offered.

But why do you guys not also use iinvest? here you get to see the different offers and quantities available in real time so making a choice becomes easy. You get to see fixed deposit, TB, and commercial papers in one platform.
