purplekayc: which wind turbine etc is convinient for home use Hmm.....good question which I don't have experience on.... however you first need to be sure you have constant wind in your area for a wind turbine to be meaningful....if you are in Lagos maybe you get some wind at the island not sure anything reasonable will suffice at mainland and into the south west axis |

jamesid29: Good morning all. A question has been bugging me for the past couple of days now.
Recently stumbled on SMK inverters and they seem to be reasonably priced. Looking at the SMK specs against Growatt's, they seem to be almost identical in terms of what they offer(aside from the follow come WiFi stick and capability). But yet one seems to be a darling in the market while the other one rarely features in conversations even though it has almost identical features ,even to the battery less function( atleast on paper) at a lower cost.
Is it that the SMK's are of a lesser quality in terms of build or perculiar issues (maybe charging)? Or is it that Growatt has just been better at branding themselves in the Nigerian market?
I know, what is written on paper does not always translate into the real world and I'm still finding my way in this renewable energy universe (just started this year), so I say make I ask those that have far more experience in the group and from marketers who deal in these products.
I'm not trying to knock down any of the products, it's just a question that has been in my head for some days now. Any input is very much appreciated. Thank you I think Valto said the one he has was not delivering to the rated charging capacity |

Tovard: What would be your recommendation and maintenance review for this car since it is the car you are using. I have only used it in the last 6 months, just ensure you do your fluid change with the recommended grades. Parts are also not very expensive, I needed to change the trunck and got a complete trunck (with the rear windscreen) for 45k. That said, it's not nice on fuel for a typical 4plug car the mileage on gas is below average. However performance is superb! |

I use an RDX of same year....you can't compare that ride with corolla. They are not in the same league. If you want functionality and performance without worry on fuel then that's your car |

NiyiOmoIyunade: Even at 30% DoD your average LA will do under 2,000cycles. It is still not very close to Lithium.
I was only trying to dissuade the notion of 200Ah Lead Acid = 100Ah Lithium.
You will always need to upsize your Lithium bank for a realistic DoD and the proverbial rainy day.
If someone can squeeze 180Ah from his 200Ah LA bank a few times a year because not enough solar harvest or no PHCN or Gen, it would be lights out for the Lithium 100Ah guy.
In practice 200Ah LA will need about 130 to 150Ah Lithium as equivalent. If your point is just to talk about taking out power from the batteries then 200Ah LA is equal to at least 160AH LFP. However those who said 200Ah LA is equal to 100ah LFP were saying that on the basis of getting reasonable lifespan from the LA. No matter the quality of the LA if you consistently take over 50% out of it, it will half it's life cycle at the minimum. Lithium will take that without a loss in life span |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ojeysky(m): 10:01am On Aug 22, 2021 |
NiyiOmoIyunade: 200Ah lead acid at 50% DoD is more like 125Ah Lithium at 80% DoD.
Practically you may not be able to drain Lithium to zero on a regular basis especially if your bank is made of several cells. If you want to really push LA to similar life span of LFP then it should be 30% DoD of LA is equal to 80% DoD of lithium. However we have gone though this talks in the past. Let everyone buy what works for them |
