https://www.thecable.ng/unilever-nigeria-stops-production-sales-of-omo-lux/amp Please complete it especially with the bold; "In a statement in the company’s earnings report, Unilever Nigeria said production and sales “ceased in December 2023”. Unilever said the factory used to produce the home care and skin cleansing products has been leased out to a third party.
“Subsequent to the company’s exit from the Home Care and Skin Cleansing categories, the factory buildings have been leased to a third party for a duration of 10 years, with annual rental payments,” the company said. |

123ABCXYZ: I agree with your analysis on inflation but not on positive sentiments. The exit of large global corporations from the country is one big negative, no improvement of the security situation and distrust in the judiciary are serious negatives for any sentiment analysis performed by anyone and there has not been serious efforts to reform the country so I disagree. In my organisation here in the UK, we downgraded Nigeria this year in comparison to other african countries when looking at possible emerging market investment destinations.
I suppose one other factor driving investment in the stock market is the fall of the naira which has seen most financial institutions post massive forex gains and profits, providing the opportunity for short term profit hunters to take advantage of that value. I foresee a retraction post April 2024 except, inflation continues to rise and the naira continues to fall at rapid speed. NGX is to a very large extent immune to the perceived bolded. That is more for politically exposed. |

mikeapollo: How reliable is this info? And what are the implications because Tinubu and Wale are related parties? Wale should be careful because these are the kind of transactions that created problems for Oando in the first place. Very reliable. During the last AGM Q n A session, Wale said 'the revenue base of the company is 98% in $ and 2% in local currency' All things being equal the future is brighter as long as the hazy delisting issue is resolved by not delisting. February 5 or 6th is almost here. |

BabsO2: Some hard questions have been tabled also. Like when will dividends start again. And another like is it worth talking about that when management will be buying out minority shareholders. Waiting for management response on these two key questions. Or if management will not give clear response. And further bears will be released Management response to the bolded will determine the market direction any moment from now. Though it is cautiously trading. |

Adinije: What is the implications of having 2 CSCS account please? You will have to subscribe to the two or more CHN accounts to view status of your holdings through different stockbrokers on CSCS portal. However, if you have on CHN and multiple stockbrokers linked to the one CHN, with one online subscription, you can see statuses of all your stockbroking accounts. That is my personal experience. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Ojoboak(m): 9:11am On Sep 05, 2023 |
yMcy56: Clearing House Number (CHN) is not required for a new account....... Rather, a CHN will be generated for you when your broker open a trading account for you.
* If you're a newbie to the market, I'll recommend Morgan Capital Securities Limited for you...... We have quite a lot of users who could attend to some of your enquires here. Your existing Clearing House Number (CHN) is required when you want to open account with a new stockbroking firm. This help to tie all your stockbroking accounts to only ONE CSCS account, which you can subscribe to view statuses of your account with all your stockbrokers. Not supplying that information to your new stockbroker, will lead to opening of a new CHN for you. Supply this information to Morgan, and your account will be connected to it. Hope I have help a bit. |
