Food / Re: My Boyfriend Buys Me Buka Food! by Okejazz(m): 8:32pm On May 08, 2007
This post just reminded me of my oh-so- missed experience at the bukka.
It was part of our subculture as a student away from home.
Ah!, those days
, pounded yam and egusi soup at Mama Bomboy, no forget to put jara  grin
Her pepper soup eh, will definitely cure all your catharr  grin.

But the blaring truth is that most bukkas (roadside eateries) are patronized by transit drivers, mechanics and other blue-collar workers. Not only that, they are located in a not-so-appealing surrounding which makes it definitely not for the weak stomachs.

However, as a connoisseur of good food I will say that I have had several mouth-watery, finger-licking, bone-splittin, marrow-suckin moments at a bukka, kai!

Even your Western or supposedly modernized joints incorporate foods served in the roadside bukka in their menu to attract more customers.
So my dear, unless your boyfriend buys you bukka food prepared by women from Burkina Faso, grin grin grin  then you don't have a problem.

Una cool down…nu.!!! see as all man dey jump for this omo (jesus freak) case …, say the okpeke nah gold digger and her relationship with her bobo go take a downward toll because she don tire for Mama Put, meanwhile we no know if…
1. Guyman meet the omo for buka….con feel say since dem don dey accustomed to that communal “washing basin” type of eatery, grin make e no change wetin join dem together in the first place. BUKATERIA!!!
2. The omo wan upgrade…….(who dash u?)
3. She think say she don see better life especially now wey she and her bobo don chop AWOOF for Tantalizer and Mr Bigg’s on top their friend head.
4. Guyman no sabi cook…. and money dey tight.
5. She no be the main babe…(nah sidekick….reason why their relationship nah OFF TODAY….ON NEXT TOMMORROW).
6. The guyman nah “hothead” and the omo no fit cough where him dey….so she no know how she go fit approach am on this matter.

Well Jesusfreak, these are just mere assumptions and i know a woman likes to be treated out , but like others looking from the outside, i'ld say you really don't have a problem, besides some of the roadside eateries serve the closest to delicious "home food" if not better. If this is a pressing issue then you need to communicate more with your boyfriend and tell him the way you feel.

What i've heard is that Nigerians have very distinct facial features like high cheek bones.
And that they either love to attend school or make a lot of money.
The true test however is the accent . Some Nigerians no matter the number of years overseas , that typical way of speaking and communication, (for example , that ibotic nna drawl) still lingers.  grin. E no go change.

Business / Re: Nigeria Bank With Online Balance Enquiry /online Banking by Okejazz(m): 5:44pm On Apr 27, 2007
These questions are on behalf of Nigerians in foreign countries.

I’m interested in opening an account in Nigeria, one that is not only easily accessible online but also secure enough to conduct international business transactions. However, like most Nigerians in far-flung parts of the world, in various diasporic communities i am but skeptical with this undertaking primarily because of the negative ties attributed to our banking industry.
I guess my questions are:
1. Would you trust an online bank in Nigeria completely with your funds?
2. Banking products/services such as ATM debit cards with Master card/Visa logos, checks, banking rewards, loans, etc, issuance of these items to an online customer would that be hitch free?
3. Investment accounts (such stocks, mutual funds, etc) how would an online customer track that down ACCURATELY?
4. With issues like time differences, is there a 24hr customer service person to answer all your inquiries?

These are just a few …, please would someone shed some light on these dark areas.

Health / Blogging On Health Issues In Africa by Okejazz(m): 1:05am On Apr 26, 2007
I’m looking for professionals ( including traditional herbs men or women) in the medical field not only in Nigeria but across Africa at large  (that is in Gambia, Togo, Liberia, what have you)…in universities, small communities, teaching hospitals, health centers, etc ……someone  willing to blog on or give their views on African health related issues/ research …in concrete yet interesting details. He or she has to be an avid writer.
AIDS and starvation are in Africa…, it’s all over the media and it appears this is the highlight of our wellbeing as Africans….everywhere… research on AIDS. (not to downplay the seriousness of this disease). But quite little in my perspective is said of the breakthroughs or success of eradicating other emergent diseases. Having said that, it is part of my plan to showcase to developed countries how we Africans against all odds, without steady power supply or huge government funding still make an impact in our communities in dealing with life threatening emergencies, difficult surgeries, deadly diseases, etc.  If you feel a passion about this type of work, well brother/sister please make yourself known and how you can add to this vision.

Does anyone here know anything about IBB's (Babangida) involvement in the stock ticker ERHE (EHRC ENERGY INC.) trading in the US market? This is a penny stock allegedly attributed to a few of his oil blocks in the territorial waters of Sao Tome & Principe. If'y'all do please give me heads up.

Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by Okejazz(m): 6:21am On Jan 15, 2007
The Nigerian market undoubtedly has growth potentials in various fields, and not just on petroleum only for we have an abundance in natural resources. For me though, i would admit my skepticism in investing in the Nigerian banking industry primarily because of the innumerable con-men and women we have as bank directors in Nigeria. (Wait, wait, take a trip to a bank in Nigeria and see why, lol). With the banking industry, lets go back to the early 1990s when our country saw a lot of banks fold and corrupt CEOS fleeing the nation to foreign countries leaving shareholders at the mercy of a government who often enough is involved in it. Investors till today NEVER got all thier due proceeds back. As a matter of fact, look at the situation with J.Okocha, it took our so called papa (or is it papiluwe) of the nation; OBJ to intervene.  Go figure. I do however admire the likes of great investors like Buffet as mentioned earlier, just that , mere admiration, knowing so well that in our ONE NIGERIA and dogged business society he could be compared to our own untouchable Maradonna with various investments like the oil reserves, the shopping mall, the grand mansions, just to mention a few, and a nation of like recruits that sheepishly idolize him, everybody want to be like Mike.
What am i saying , be wary of the risks involved in a market and study the market thoroughly rather than buy in haste because some stock broker or a friend named LUCKY said so.
I invest in US commodities, more often that not in growth stocks, some of which are penny stocks and i must say i'm impressed with my portfolio. Now i'm not a smart a lec stock broker but and here are a few items i look out for when buying or selling a stock.

1. First, i check the 52week high and low of this company and if the company has been in existence for more than 5years i observed its peaks and surges over this time period and investigate why with reporting company news either from the company's website or via Reuters News (or some other News reporting group). I'm looking for things like merges, new products, inside trades, new CEOs, etc. Basically on what is really going on with the company focusing more on that period i'm about to buy or sell.

2. Next, who is the current CEO of this company and how long has he or she been CEO, also where is this company located and its main branch? (don't mind me, i have my reasons).

3. Then i often check the current P/E ratio of the company. This doesn't play a big factor in my decision to buy or not to buy but you'ld want to know about the managment of this company and what investors think of it. If this ratio is very low it suggest that the company has poor growth potential, meaning less returns for your money.

4.  Then i observe how that company has performed compared to other companies in the same line of business over a period of time.

Use these few tips and you'll be fine , remember though THEY say that great investors are big time risk takers. Take care.
