odimbannamdi: Don't mind that guy. He obviously can't afford brand new that comes with all the bells and whistles accompanied by irrevocable manufacturers warranty and yet he visits a flea market to seek out a used item with similar terms and conditions. You never jam yet. "CONTINUE" |

nickyvil: This is quite hilarious. You must be living in topsy turvy town. Sometimes after a bad day it's quite a comic relief coming here to read fantasies. You obviously have never bought a used car before. As a warning pls understand that you buy a car as is and nothing more. Your story above smacks of a lack of utopia. No offence meant. 10 Likes |

Typically, no one has questioned the veracity of the report. Shouldn't we at least hear the Chinese side of the story before apportioning blame? That appears more logical to me. 1 Like |

Bahddo: I know that much bro. Mine is already set to sim1 as default. I just marvel at how Samsung and some other phones including the newest dual SIM iPhones display the options at the bottom for you to choose directly. |

Perhaps it's my ignorance regarding phones but one feature I like about the Samsung phone is that the call page allows you to choose the preferred sum from the onset rather than what the Xiaomi offers which is that annoying pop-up window requesting for which some to be used for that particular call. |

Nwaotu10: 29 is still very young at least in the context of the present economy. I will nonetheless advise you to buckle up and confront reality. You need to start the journey with micro or baby steps. The first thing to do is called survival. That requires you getting out of the hole you are in already. You need to start earning 30k monthly. 1,000 every day. If you do that daily then in about three months that amount will triple. By the end of this year you could be making 10k daily from multiple streams. That will provide you with a foundation for launch into a more profitable venture. More importantly you will begin to enjoy more confidence and courage to embark on new projects. It's not as hard as it looks. The biggest crisis is when you fall to the level of not even expecting your next meal. Pls note that I do not advocate online business at this point. I really don't know my way around online earning activities. Quote me and post up your WhatsApp on a dead thread and I will contact you and we take it from there. 1 Like |

Career / Re: Your Experiences With Chinese Bosses As Nigerians by Oktane: 12:27am On Apr 13, 2021 |
It's quite amazing how our contemporary work ethic can be summed up in one thread. So many posts riddled with an underlying fallacious fundament. Lets try a little objectivity here......even though it is likely to draw some flak but no problem. First of all I am no Indian, neither Chinese nor Lebanese. I have however worked for/and closely with the above mentioned nationals. I the UK I worked for an Indian small Scale producer of essential oils. He wasn't nice but neither was he wicked. He was just a businessman who wanted his business to thrive despite all the odds in a very highly regulated and controlled county. Time for him must never be wasted. He permitted us fixed toilet times, smoking times and lunch breaks (which were below the 'standard'). He paid only minimum wage....which was more than adequate for me as a student then. But then these wages were never late in the entire one year I spent there. He was very demanding though and insisted on a full days work for a full days pay. Surprisingly, the place was never lacking in applications. Here in Lagos I was also privileged to work with Indians at a very senior position...never as their subordinate bit their equals and I can attest to the fact that they may just be the best in ensuring that the Nigerian stays in line as regards corporate goals and objectives. I dare-say that it's is perhaps only in Nigeria where a whole department requests for an off day to attend the naming ceremony of the sister of their team member. So many frivolous reasons/excuses are evinced for laziness and lethargy here. How can you tell your boss that you are persistently late to work because your office is in Lekki and you reside in Agbede in Ikorodu.....or that 3MB is undergoing repairs and as such you will be consistently late into the job is completed. The success of any organisation is determined primary by the overall attitude to work exhibited by the critical mass of the employees. In this country you need to wield the big stick and growl ferociously. At a popular lounge at CMD road the proprietor had to seek the services of an Indian just to keep the business afloat and perhaps profitable. And this is just a bar. Finally, we should show some gratitude for these Indians and others. Simply imagine an economy bereft of all the Indian, Chinese and Lebanese companies. Imagine the loss in terms of GDP and of course on the unemployment statistics. Shouldn't we be rather appreciative that they have provided succour in their own ways for our teeming unemployed? Lets learn to live with them as this is no different from his they work and treat workers even in their home countries. One way or the other they are able to extract some results..albeit with some pressure. 6 Likes 2 Shares |
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Lady Loses Job Opportunity Due To Her Response To HR's Phonecall by Oktane: 10:47pm On Apr 02, 2021 |
Karleb: Plentiful oil dey your head. Typical of the present generation. Providing baseless justifications for unacceptable behaviour. Some people even referring to scammers as an excuse to be rude. Can anyone scam you just by calling you when you are completely sane? You have to provide the wherewithal to facilitate a successful scan. I have been involved in phone-in interviews which became more popular with the pandemic of last year and Zi can tell you for free that many Nigerians parade degree certificates with nothing else to show for it. For your information at the first stage of the interview which is usually just an attempt at whittling down the number of candidates to a manageable proportion the interviewer has a specific time frame to deal with each candidate. In order to assure you that he knows you properly he is trained to call you with your full names as reflected in your CV. If you are a smart person you can immediately tell that he knows a bit about you. He will then ask you to confirm other info on the CV you presented. But in instances where you are recruiting a frontline or contact staff, you are at liberty to toss the person around in order to unveil his/her temperament when caught off guard. In this case, the lady messed up big time. It could have been handled much better than what was reported here. Pls note especially our ladies, it is important that you try to be as polite or at least civil during your phone interactions. You can never tell who the person is and what greatness he can bring to your life. And for those who don't pick calls from callers not registered on their contact list I feel it is rather small mixed if not outright foolish. 8 Likes |

anuoreangel: It beats me that you are still advertising more products despite being called out on your very poor communication skills. You don't pick calls and you don't return missed calls and yet you have the temerity to keep advertising new products this insulting our sensibilities. You do indeed not just mercy as proposed above but an outright deliverance. 15 Likes 1 Share |
