My first guess is, 'This guy wants to have it all!'
Bro, you can't have the best of both worlds. How long do you wanna club and drive spontaneously? Life comes in stages and you have to condition your mind in readiness for each stage.
And who says 30 or 40 is old? Have you heard that life begins at 40? You spend quality time thinking of tomorrow and end up wasting today. Live one day at a time! Good luck!
Live one day at a time.

Problem like this also come up when we see life as a destination rather than a journey.

The only sure destination is death, in between; you just have to live one day at a time and enjoy everyday you have.

Not talking from the point of holier than thou though, I am also guilty of this too.

Faced my book all through school not catching fun at all, out of school good job but still feeling out of place many years later.

I see this more from the point of view of division of labour. Women still want "responsible men", men that can work hard and take care of his wife and kids.
I am also of the old school that believe that any man that cannot provide for his family is not responsible. So please what will be the woman's contribution to the family?

This issue is a matured issue that is be handled seriously. some ladies expect their husband to go to work make money and still comes home and cook for her and the kids. this is a sacrilege grin.

I am a good cook myself and I cook when my wife is not available, but for me to provide money for food and still cook the food while my wife watch telemondo, is what will never happen!!!
I have a confession. I fried meat yesterday while my wife was watching telemondo.

Please forgive me guys if I have let you down grin

All the 3 major religion holy books promotes violence. The old testament of the bible is filled with violence and killing of non jews. The Muslim and Jewish books is also fill with violence and killing of non believers. Religion has done man no good but brought wars, killing, discriminations and division
Man is just simply wicked. Take away religion as you see it and man will get something else.
Even an advert on super sport sometimes back claimed; "football is my religion" grin and you know how fights have happened at football events.

LMAyedun:
Trying to understand GEJ's view, let me put it in a better way.... Terrorism has nothing to do with true Muslims. We all have one or two Muslims as neighbours, they are peaceful people.

BUT another fact is... Wicked extremists found it easier to hide under Islam to propagate their wickedness.

My opinon, I stand to be corrected. I'm a Christian.
My concern is how do you know who is a true Muslim when you are not a Muslim. The extremist say they are the true Muslim, the conservatives say the extremist are not true Muslim.
My best friend is a Muslim (from a family of great imams) and we don't discuss religion, but an uncle of his (an imam) once told him in my presence that it is wrong for him to be good friends with me a non-muslim, I felt bad that day.
Therefore I got thinking since that day, who is a real Muslim my friend or his uncle?

plendil: So what if the wife provides the money?
The man should then make himself useful and do the cooking. Not just the cooking but all the household duties.

A female friend of mine came back from the UK and she was so happy about how the men over there do household duties with their wives, but in all her gist she failed to mention how they also both share bill payments. The lady in question has a shop in Nigeria which is setup 100% by her husband ooo. Her trip to UK was paid for 100% by her husband ooo, the car she drives same thing 100% husband. I had to put her in check so that she won't just mess up her happy home.

For me; if you are not 100% a man then you should not demand a 100% woman.

A man who doesn't know how to cook isn't well bred and is as useless as useless itself because to compare him to any other thing would be an understatement. A male who calls himself a man is supposed to know how to cook all the meals that he likes. If he can't do that, then it shows how unproductive he would be to his family.

BlackTechnology: Poverty is a global problem

It exist in advanced nations that have the best of infrastructures eg electricity

The most critical solution is when people see it as their moral responsibility to create businesses that employs people and pay them fine.

Remember

Jobs don't fall from heaven but are created by people.
I agree with you in regards to poverty. Some people will remain poor even if they are given a billion naira, some won lottery of $380m and became broke in less than 3yrs.

But you will agree with me that the government past and present has not given us an enabling environment to foster business development. It takes you ten times more effort to succeed in this country "legally" than in a more developed economy.

I said you should get behind me, you said I should run along. I thought we are done?

I believe and I am blessed, you don't believe and you are not blessed, how is that my fault now?

No vex, you hear. Jesus became poor so that we may be rich:

2 Corinthians 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

So, please free me if you disagree.

They are more comfortable with the era when Pastors and believers where referred to as poor Church rats and you needed to do rituals or join cults to be rich.

E dey pain them that we now realized that Christ paid for it all. It was not only sin, sickness and affliction that was destroyed on the cross of calvary.

grin

You are too wise. And those who consider themselves wise sometimes are quite the opposite.
The scriptures says give and it shall be given unto you, the wise says this does not make sense, the foolish goes ahead and give and he is blessed and the wise comes back to say the result is wrong.

The things of the kingdom are usually foolish to the worldly.

Mind you, I never equated Oyedepo to Christ. You can reduce your "wiseness" a little and read my post again.

BlackTechnology: Jonathan I no support you for this one you talk oooooo

Poverty can only reduce when people create businesses that employs people.

Businesses that create jobs can only come into existence when people

1) See it as part of their civic responsibility

2) Are willingly to give out long term low interest rate loans to small medium and large scale businesses

3) Are willingly to go into business partnership directly or indirectly

In all these, the FG has failed to massively educate Nigerians to apply these 3 understanding and lots more

How many Nigerians earning at least 50 000 naira monthly are saving with the intention of going into part time business or lending long term low interest loans to businesses after 10yrs of savings.

In the thread " 7 things about Switzerland you don't know, the OP made us realise that some things were not automated in order to create jobs for book keepers because the swiss believe in low unemployment."

GEJ in this area I will score you 10%
And you think this can work where there is no basic infrastructure like electricity.
If you only know that the telecoms companies in Nigeria spend more on diesel and generator than what the pay staff.

Why can't our government give us power? PDP, APC, GEJ, IBB, OBJ, etc they are all the same.

He told them that being a Christian or a Pastor does not condemn you to a life of poverty, they said he was crazy.

He told them that those that joined cults to get rich will regret it, they said he was saying rubbish.

He said God can make you rich, they said God should make him rich first, because their was nothing rich about him when he was saying it.

Now that God has confirmed the words of his servant, they say his members foolish.

Well worse things where said about Christ.

What if on d last day he turns out to worship God in truth and in spirit..... My advise is simple, if u are not convinced about any man of God just seal ur lips and flee from anything dat concern him so dat u won't bring judgement upon urself
My brother some people don't believe in God and you expect them to believe that men of God exist?

And what pains me most is that most of these people talking trash have nothing to write home about concerning their life. Instead of them seeking help to change their life they choose rather to castigate that same thing they lack that they can see in others.

Sorry guys the Church rats are no longer poor, e dey pain them grin

Ghost01: Aish! You've been a protestant for soooo long. Lol.
Better a Protestant that is a Christian (people like Christ) than an "xtian" .

The issue is that we read the Bible and wonder why the Pharisees and Sadducees where so cruel to Jesus Christ for doing no evil. But in this current time some of us persecute men of God simply for being like Christ ( demonstrating Christ power)

I repeat, true Christianity cannot exist without the miraculous. Christianity is not a call to conformity but of transformation to be like Christ by the word of God in the Bible not quotation from Shakespeare grin

Ghost01: Mpish!!! Like it or not, the Roman Cath. Church (and the Eastern Orthodox Church) played a bigger role than Jesus Christ (JC) in what is now known as Xtianity. In fact the Church helped develop the Jesus myth. You owe your xtianity largely to them.
You are correct. That is why there is a difference between xtianity and Christianity, some may think it's a typho but the real issue is that the "world Church" is trying by all means to remove "Christ" (God's manifest power) from Christianity and replace it with human traditions "x" that has nothing to do with Christ and quotation from Shakespeare instead of the Bible.

Ghost01: Mind you, for more than a thousand years, the Catholics were the sole custodian of xtianity. There was no SCOAN to cure HIV or Christ Embassy to visualise a walking Jesus then, yet xtianity didn't perish. The Catholics admittedly committed many unspeakable atrocities though -- the result of the fusion of religion and state.
I don't know about xtianity ( as at the last time I checked" x" is unknown), Christianity was existing before the Roman Catholic church. But please don't let's go into that.

I am a Christian 1st and foremost. I am not a follower of any Church or denomination but a follower of Christ. I however have a church i fellowship with.

Real Christianity would have perished if not for the few that still choose to follow Christ in his fullness of power, miracle, and Majesty.

One thing that makes Christianity Christianity is the supernatural and the miraculous, take this away and Christianity will be like any other religion.

If you want a scholastic, powerless, and the long lost poor-church-rat Christianity, you can still have it. But I have checked the bible, that kind is not found there.
