BusinessRe: Banks Blame CBN For Scarcity Of Naira Notes by olaeffect(m): 11:50pm On Jan 27, 2023
Millz404:
CBN is making it scarce on purpose, what is the point of changing the old notes when you are just going to flood everywhere with the new ones.

Get new notes enough for petty transactions, anybody that wants above 1k from your hand, do transfer.
Simple.
I wonder why CBN is not bold enough to state this.
Instead of lying against innocent banks.

I also strongly believe that CBN should cease this time and situation to encourage the use of E-naira for transactions without any charges at all.
In fact they should even give users some incentives.

Well there’s a lot of sense in what you’re saying.

I just don’t want Nigerias to become accustomed to collecting money during voting period. Politicians always try to get back their losses by looting more money
Politicians steal money in Nigeria because stealing is easy and our laws against stealing are weak.
Our civil servant and public servants (Military officers, DGs, AGFs, Ministers) that haves stole billions, where they elected? Did they campaign and share money to anybody before they get to their position?

As long as our political offices are cash-cows people will always do all things possible to get there.

How can a seating CBN governor who has desecrated his office as a card carrying APC member (See https://punchng.com/apc-chairman-confirms-emefieles-membership-says-cbn-gov-registered-feb-2021/) deserve commendation from Nigerians?

You're naive if you think Emefiele's new policy will stop vote buying. Also the last time I checked it is not CBN's job to combat vote buying or insecurity. One will ask what then is the job of INEC, EFCC, ICPC, Police and our other security outfits? (The CBN is not INEC neither is it a department of the Nigerian police force).

You said "If emiefele didn't dump the kids gloves and chose to go hard-core, the Naira was confidently heading to a #1000 to the dollar...." Again it is Emefiele's fault for the astronomical rise in exchange rate, seem you've forgotten CBN banned sale of forex to BDC (See https://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/475998-breaking-cbn-bans-sales-of-forex-to-bdcs.html) and also threatened to stop selling forex to banks. If you really think that Emefiele's recent policy will stop Tinubu or help Nigerians then you don't know what's going on. As I said in my earlier post he is not on your side.
Just calm down and ignore some people some time.
I simply wonder how some people believe that anyone in this uncoordinated government is doing anything for the benefit of Nigerians or the masses.
BusinessRe: CBN Naira Deadline: Sokoto Marketers Opt For E-naira Transaction by olaeffect(m): 2:31am On Jan 27, 2023
Since our government cannot lead and cannot think or be proactive, market men and women will take the lead.

I have mentioned it since last month that I expect the CBN to use this period to push the use or E-naira the more.
And they should even give incentives in form of cash backs to encourage users to use it the more.

But our own CBN is more concerned about revenue generation in form of penalties and levies, than the ease of transactions for Nigerians.

The inflation here is too high mostly during the election period where they share money to every goat and fowl.
The fools think they are being smart by collecting money to vote but unfortunately,it simply increases the demand and prices of goods in the market because everyone would want to buy something with what they receive

So this policy will cut back on all that.
Myself i really think there shouldn’t be much new naira notes in circulation until after the election to prevent politicians from hoarding then thereby defeating the purpose of the exercise.

Let’s go cashless for a while!
So after the elections we go back to square one right?
And you think the reason for inflation is just too much cash in circulation?
Have you ever considered how much US dollars is in circulation around the world?
Do you think Nigeria has 10% of the bank notes the USA has?

Let me ask you another question, can you collect cash from a bank that you do not have?

The problem with inflation in Nigeria is wasteful spending based on fraud and embezzlement.

A road construction that should not cost more the N800m being awarded at N2.6bn.
Even if the excess N1.8bn is not collected in cash but transferred to Dubai, transferred to car dealers to buy luxury cars with no ecomic advantage or contribion to the economy their will still be inflation.

But do you know that if a politian however collects N2bn cash and share it during election day, and just N500m out of it is used by people who collected to ugument their farming, do you know that it will have a positive impact on the economy?

So our problem is not cash, but how our leaders waste money, either in cash or any other means.

Sebi they are asking Emefele how electronic fees in trillions have been mismanaged now, Nigerians are not saying anything.

Under Jonathan $20bn was missing in NNPC, he was saying it was not possible.
Emefele and Buhari are using Naira notes and cheap blackmail against others, in order not to make Nigerians ask real questions about real monies that are responsible for the real inflation.

But Nigerian will never learn.

Imagine sane human beings with functioning brains, campaigning for someone that packaged Buhari for us for good 8yrs, turn back and denied all promises and assurance made, even blamed us for believing their promises.
Now that same person is presenting himself. Will someone that lied and deceived us for another not do same for himself?

Nigerians please and please let's vote for the future of our children for once.

I also refused to buy the album but there was literally one playing at every time “T” in boy’s hostel.
I also knew the album by heart as a result

My late 100L roommate tormented me with Don Moen gospel songs with this back in 2000.
Other boys in the hostel wer rocking Craig David and dem Sisqo that time grin
It was a rechargeable lantern composed of;
-flourescent tube
-torch (which could blink)
- cassette player
-AM & FM radio
Thing could last several hours back in those days jacking at night in the lecture theatres on campus with no NEPA light.

Rest in Peace Emmanuel.
That Craig David you mentioned brought back memories for me, I served in year 2000 in one village, it was this radio and one Craig David complete cassette that a friend gave me when leaving for camp that was my companion.

I still know which song will come after which song in that Craig David album grin

This is a complex issue, she's truly entitled to some of his property if she was legally married to him.

But she shouldn't get into dirty fight with the first wife and the husband family if things turn ugly
I would rather she finds a way of handing everything over to his former wife simply because of his living children.
Only the children of the dead are entitled to his or her properties in my own opinion.

Couples especially women should stop laying claim to their spouses property simply because they are married or in a relationship.

Persons in a relationship knows what belongs to who.
But women always believe that whatever belongs to the man is theirs but not the other way round. cool

I have a townhouse with three bedrooms. My office occupies one of the bedrooms, but six months ago, my boyfriend of two years moved in. To protect his five-year-old son and also two elder daughters, our plans to get married have been delayed.

He came to me to tell me that his ex can no longer afford her apartment due to the drastic rent increase and is preparing to leave Accra and relocate to her parent's home. According to my boyfriend, he doesn't want to stay far away from his children and doesn't want to keep his children away from their mother.

He is proposing that they move in temporarily with us. This will mean I give up my office, or he moves in with his ex to help out financially, and both of those options will destroy our bond. What do I do?
grin grin sorry but this is very funny to me.

I will give you an advice that I will give my sister.
Let your boyfriend and his family move on with their life, you are being used

If anyone does not understand my stand. I am a man.
And I can assure that no man including your boyfriend will allow another man (his girlfriends ex) with their children to move into his house.

Even if your boyfriend's ex is my own blood sister, I still say NO!

Come to think of it. Why are you dating a married man with kids that does not have his own house?
There is more to this story.

But mumu people that are hell-bent that their generations must continue to suffer in a country that is so blessed will still not allow us that want a better life to move forward.

*He does not have any personal business despite all his pension and gratuity as a general, former military head of state and PTDF chairman
*He does not even have a free Islamic school or Jumat mosque solely built by him in the honour of his God despite his verbal profession for Sharia and Islam

I remember when young women used to follow their parents to farm and do all sorts of work.

The parents will in turn use the proceeds from the crops to pay the school fees of their children and use the remaining money to buy food

Gone are those days, farming is no longer a thing of pride, that's why hunger is killing us, everybody is searching for white-collar job in Abuja and Lagos.
Hmmm, which good old days of farming are you relating to?
Some people you see in Abuja had better foundation than even our President Buhari.
I know a doctor that is about 60yrs old in Kaduna that is a second generation doctor (I e his father was a doctor too), he also has children that are doctors (3rd generation doctors).

In other clime farming is a business not an occupation.
Farming should not be what the youths of Nigeria (especially graduates) go into because they cannot find jobs.

But farming should be a business that youths go into to create a legacy for themselves while however creating jobs for others.
