If 80% of anambrarians could not find their names in the voters register, then the election need to be cancelled. period!!!!! embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed
Only 19% of registered voters were allowed to vote because of false voters Register.
The remaining 81% were completely disenfrachised including Ekwueme,Ngige and Uba's Family and over 1 Million other families.
It is definitely below expectation and i Hope it is Not The New Way INEC will Be rigging People in come 2011.
its à Bad Omen for 2011.
Ngige definitly have à tenable reason to go to Tribunal but He will Loose.Because there is nö Proof that what happened affected only him.it affected everybody across Board.
PoliticsRe: Anambra Elections: Live Updates by olafolarin(m): 12:28pm On Feb 08, 2010
The election was neither free nor fair.Or how do you explain à Situation where there are 1.8 Million registered voters and only 300,000 People voted.more than 500,000 eligible voters were disenfrachised because they couldnt find their Names in voters Register.THAT IS NOT FAIR,

But One Thing which is Good sign is that there was nö violence and Peter Obi won based on majority of the Counted votes.
PDP was denied the Opportunity to rig and Rob votes hereby allowing the electorate to choose their governor.
This was made possible because of OBJ and Yar'Adua's absence.Otherwise Anambra will have been turned into another Ekiti.

My Choice will be Donald Duke, my people perish for lack of vision, Duke had a vision to turn cross river into El-dorado, you can imagine what he would have done to nigeria if the whole country was his constituent. He has vision, History has shown us vision is a pre-requisite for industrilasation. A good example was Adolf Hitler, he was man with a vision, built most of the auto-bahn in germany are still evidence today, built a car for the people - volkswagen, only failure is he bacame over ambitious and over zealous and that led to his downfall, one should not ignore some of the good leadership quality he had prior to the invasion of Poland in 1938.

Dude, you just made à very senseless Statement. Those Autobahn(Express) and Auto Industry you Talkes about was pre-hitler.
The Design for the Roads were made and its execution Started in the Weimarer Republic.Hitler founded à Party and was voted in As Leader which auotmatically Weimarer Republic but He conrinued the programs of Road,Infrastructure and Economic Development of the government He preceeded.

On Automobile Industry that Far preceeds Hitler.German Auto Building Industry started in 1800s.it blossomed at the end of that Century with Germany producing/exporting over 27 different Brands.
Hitler was Born in Austria and Lived most of His asult Life on welfare bedore joining politics. He knew nothing about German cars and Even did nothing encourage or help the Auto Industry while in Power.

Nigeria Need ambitious and Ready-to-perform Leaders like Donald Duke,Babatunde Fashola,Rotimi Amaechi and Shekarau.
PoliticsRe: Because Ojukwu Was Involved. by olafolarin(m): 9:15pm On Feb 07, 2010
History lessons.so we just learnt that there were indeed millionaires in Nigeria (especially among the Yoruba folk)before ojukwu Snr earned his 1st thousand.so the notion that Ojukwu Snr is the 1st millionaire in Africa is TOTAL FALSE.
However, Obi won the election on merit despite INEC's incompetence.
Ojukwu's support might swing a little vote in his favour but not enough to decide the election.
Obi is a man I admire so much for his fortrightness and that in addition with his outstanding performance definitely endeared him to the mind of the populace.Hence the re-election is success perfect.

On Ekiti, there was violence and unrestricted rigging by PDP because OBJ and YAr'Adua wanted to curtail AC's progress and success in SW.All state machineries were employed to satify the Abuja masters but they completely undermined AC's investigative intelligence. The rigging, ballot box snatching, thuggery and violence was captured/recorded by a pen-sized camera pinned to every AC and infiltrated PDP agents pocket. All these made good and tenable evidence at the ongoing tribunal.
It is just a matter of time before Fayemi will be declared governor and Ekiti can join the league of progressive states after Lagos,Kwara,Anambra,Rivers and Edo states.
PDP must be wiped out of Nigeria's politics and polity for Nigeria to move forward.

aloy-emeka:
I heard the election was smooth and voters behaved in a civilized manner, queued up, followed orders and were mannerly. In fact, the police men were just chatting and eating groundnut. If something like this can happen in chaotic Anambra state, we still have hope in Nigeria especially in Ekiti State.

Congrats, Anambra people.
It's a great plus for Anambra people but INEC did a terrible job with voters register and logistics.
It is because of such irregularities that AC went to Court to stop the Osun State Re-run so that INEC can update the voter's register instead of relying on the falsified 2007 register.
INEC should have heed AC's advice to update their voter's,that would have solved today's statewide problem of missing names, ghost names, etc.
I congratulate the humble  Peter Obi for his patience and the grace with which he carried himself throughout the electioneering period.
PoliticsRe: Yoruba Woman Is Adamawa Senator by olafolarin(m): 7:25pm On Feb 07, 2010
The fact still remains that she is a Yoruba woman who won a senatorial seat in Adamawa State.
That's a big plus for the female constituency and it also shows the tolerance in that part of Nigeria.
The last time we saw such was during 1993 elections when option A4 was adopted.

http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/single-view/view/10/ge-and-transet-sign-100-locomotive-deal.html

GE and Transnet sign 100-locomotive deal
18 December 2009
Swaady Martin, Acting Chief Executive Officer of GE South Africa Technologies, and Pradeep Maharaj, Acting Group Chief Executive at Transnet.

SOUTH AFRICA: GE Transportation announced the signing of a contract with Transnet Ltd to supply Transnet freight Rail with 100 C30ACi freight locomotives on December 18. Deliveries are scheduled for 2011-12. The manufacturer says they will be the first diesel-electric locomotives with AC traction equipment in sub-Saharan Africa.

They are being supplied through GE South Africa Technologies (Pty) Ltd, which GE established with Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment company Mineworkers Investment Company in December 2008.

GE Transportation's Erie plant will produce 10 complete locomotives, while 90 will be supplied as kits for assembly by Transnet Rail Engineering as part of the South African government's Competitive Supplier Development Programme which aims to encourage industrial development.

'We worked closely with Transnet Rail Engineering to develop a comprehensive localisation plan that complements local strengths and transfers world-class skills and technology where applicable', said Lorenzo Simonelli, President & CEO of GE Transportation.

EMD, GE Transportation and Siemens had been invited to bid for the contract. An earlier tendering process had selected EMD and Sibanye Trade & Services as preferred bidder to supply 212 locomotives, but was cancelled after Transnet found 'procedural irregularities'.

There are about 1 200 GE locomotives in Africa, according to the manufacturer, including around 900 in South Africa.
NRC should just hand over rail system to a private company. There are 1200 of such locomotives in Africa and South Africa controls a staggering 900.The remaining 300 is for fools to share.Giant of Africa my foot.
Rail sytem will never improve until Fashola becomes president.

What caused his feud with tinubu?

he failed to renew tinubu's alpha beta deal with the government and was being evasive about it everytime tinubu brought the matter up . .this has been since nov 2009 when the contract expired. . .

why he failed to renew?

he had concluded plans with his partner in crime tunji olowolafe to register a company and use their company to collect lagos tax instead. . .they were planning on jacking up the percentage

why tinubu was furious enough to begin impeachment?

fashola's greed and adamance has almost cost AC anambra as there was not enough funds to pump in

how they settled?

fash has apologi\ed and renewed alpha beta. . .

FASHOLA . .saint or SINNER?
Fashola is definitely a saint and a progressive performer at that. The best in the country right now.

Why cant LAGOS simply build their own road to Badagry?
The only alternative is to build the much-touted 4th mainland bridge that will lead Victoria Island,Ajah,Epe,ikorodu with Badagry.
The cost is mind-boggling.

The FG cant do nothing about this current project. They are just jealous.
PoliticsRe: Enemy Of Progress FG May Stop Expansion Of Badagry Expressway by olafolarin(m): 10:30pm On Feb 03, 2010
The FG already granted LASG's application to upgrade the road. This was done in the 1st month of this administration.
So you cant abort pregnancy thats already been delivered.
The project is already in its 2nd phase which is the constuction of the 27.5km road and just today the CCECC handling the light railproject on the road will start its work.

chigo4u:
Well you heard it right. He truly is. He is involved in grassroots mobilization and as I write, over 360 tear rubber motorcycles has been distributed to all the wards in Anambra State. The crowd he pulls at his intelligent rallies is amazing so don't be surprised if he is declared governor on Saturday. Now let’s critically analyze the chances of other top contenders.

Peter Obi - waste of progress. Always talking and nothing to show. simple. The few roads he claims to have built is substandard and the installed streetlights are not working hence they are merely for beautification. He has realized he has done nothing hence he is relying on ojukwu for redemption but he knows he has flopped already and the people are ready to kick him out of government especially no that everybody is yearning for infrastructural dev. like is the case in lagos, enugu, port Harcourt etc,

Chris Ngige - Definitely a good man. I love him personally but his problem is that he has a good vehicle but no engine to drive the vehicle. He is tested and proved but I guess he has to get some more cash and re-strategize to win governorship. Has a good chance though.

Uche Ekwunife - I guess nobody is ready for a woman governor. No, not now.

N. Ukachukwu - I don't even want to waste my time. Next:

C. C Soludo - Rushed into the campaign, godfathered from Abuja, not popular, has many enemies, no clear manifesto and vision, that is why you have African - Dubai - Taiwan - iraqi - pakistan - china - America - Afghanistan - Africa - anambra - his bed (cos he was dreaming)

Andy Uba - Man of the people. Has invested so much in the people. Given out so many items to boost the people from the grassroots. has the sympathy of the people. has great supporters rallying behind (chris uba, etiaba, dangote, PDP, LP etc, ), Destined to be next Governor. - To build airport, dry port, improve agriculture etc.

Enough of that. so compare all these men and get out on sat (for the voters here on Nairaland) and vote in Labour Party.

Catch y'all after.
No hate!
You must be ready to sell your vote for okada or some little cash. When will you people vote for people on credence and popular manifesto instead of making quick bucks out of every election to the detriment of the entire electorate,
PoliticsRe: Kidnapping In Ekiti Politically-motivated -oni by olafolarin(m): 10:04pm On Feb 03, 2010
Governor Oni is one of the greatest fraud in South-West.He presently occupies the government House on a stolen mandate and will soon be removed by the election tribunal.
AS the Chief Security Officer of the state,he should be responsible for the lives of every citizen.
The spate of kidnapping in the state shows that the man is not capable.
PoliticsRe: Fg May Stop Expansion Of Badagry Expressway by olafolarin(m): 10:23am On Feb 03, 2010
The current FG is the most irresponsible govt of our generation.Work is already in advanced stage on the road. Why will the FG want to concession the road now?
Lagos-Ibadan expressway was concessioned to OBJ's cronies and nothing has happened to the road ever since.
The FG should hands off the badagry road because its very important for the socio-economic development of that area.
Fashola planned to upgrade that road to a 10 lane with light rail and BRT lines.
He should just go ahead and neglect the stupid minister's remarks.

military might be enticed into kidnapping the govt again.Taking us a decade backwards
because of Yar'aduas greediness and our political elite's blindness to forthrightness.

Why wont you support your fellow Yoruba criminal. Anyway, I wasnt surprise with your ranting.
My point remains that a party like AC that harbours criminals like Tinubu and friends has no business in my state.
Ohhhhh, I forgot Peter Obi,Soludo,Ekwunife are all saints.you must be living in a fools paradise.
Soludo was a university lecturer who couldn't finish his family town home till he became adviser to OBJ
and later CBN Governor.that automatically made him a billionaire.sanusi is still trying clear the mess Soludo created.
The tinubu you labelled a criminal was the best governor in Nigeria for most of the 1999 - 2007 tenure.
Pls do away with your tribal hatred.
Ngige will be inspired by the succes of Fashola,Oshiomole and tinubu and anambra will be better for it.
PoliticsRe: Woman Gives Birth At Ngige’s Rally by olafolarin(m): 8:32pm On Jan 29, 2010
metal-gong:
How is AC better than APGA? Peter Obi's citizen oriented governance style speaks a lot for APGA.
AC is a party of refined rogues and criminals parading themselves as progressives. Imagine a party where Tinubu, a certified drug lord and alaye is a leader. To even add salt to the injury, they even added their fellow criminals like Atiku and Chris Ngige, the political jobber who introduced the Okija Shrine imbroglio in my state. Infact, Ngige has to apologise for the bad image he created for Anambrarians by going unclothed in Okija shrine for an oath of loyalty and also for occupying our government house illegally for almost three years. Is it not ironic to see the same man who was rigged into office in 2003 to be campaigning against election malpractice: Ngige and his AC men are shamesless and thats one of the reason he is already a loser in the guber race.
Do you have issues with Yoruba's?
Fashola is still the best governor in Nigeria right now and AC is the party to beat in any election.
Tinubu wasn't convicted of any drug crime in America.Charges against him was dropped and there was
no evidence to nail him.the amount in his account which he claimed was his mother's was forfeited.
Does that make him a drug lord?
Ngige's past as governor will ensure his success or failure at the polls not some
baseless aspersions, tribal sentiments or fishermen's rumour.
PoliticsRe: Anambra Can't Even Organise A Simple Debate! by olafolarin(m): 7:33pm On Jan 28, 2010
I sincerely don't Know what is wrong with the post.
The fact remains that Anambra State(with its vibrancy and economical emancipation)failed to organise
à peaceful Guber debate.it is political backwardness because Lagos State successfully organised sUch
debate sequel to the 2007 elections.
The debate endeared Fashola to the Minds of Lagosians and Stalled
political relevance of People like Femi Pedro, musiliu obanikoro, etc.
The debate Woolf have been à Great Opportunity for the Anambrarians
to Know their candidates better.what à Missed Opportunity .
