The same way you guys staked all against insurmountable odd in 2015. Atiku will not win. Don't blame any other tribe for the loss of the 2023 presidency ticket.
Eco101:
Atiku should just get reasonable number of votes in the North and South West. South East is 99 percent locked down for him. Infact, the name Buhari is like Ebola down here in the East, even APC members are just there for Senatorial and other position candidates, same with South South. If you think APC members in South East and South South are voting for Buhari, you need a check up.

When will Mayeti Allah's thinking move up a bit? Imagine claiming it is a normal thing that herdsmen kill people as they have done in the last couple of years? They should provide statistics to back up the claim. If Maiyeti Allah, a key accused in the killings publicly claims it is a normal thing, how will they desist from the genocide?

Looks like the report is so one sided. The woman was just ironing out the issue with the security and Emenike will just go berserk. Let's always report events in a manner that is fair. There is no justification for breaking vandalism, no doubt and it is criminal, but from experience, these people always lord over themselves the security and waste other residents time while trying to prove they are big men and women.

Hundreds of Google employees walked out of their office buildings in protest of the company's handling of sexual harassment allegations against executives.

The Thursday morning protest took place at Google offices around the world. Employees in London, Tokyo, Singapore and Dublin walked out earlier Thursday to protest the tech giant’s reported handling of sexual misconduct allegations.

In some places, the protesting employees used megaphones to express their displeasure at the company's management while showing support for victims of sexual harassment. In others, they stayed inside, gathering in lobbies or conference rooms.

In Chicago, a crowd of more than 200 Google workers flooded out of the office and onto the sidewalk just after 11 a.m. Some carried coffee and chatted with colleagues, and others waved signs that read, "I will not sit idly by," "Not OK, Google" and "Time’s up, tech."

In Sunnyvale, California, hundreds of employees were seen walking out of their office building.
The backlash was prompted by an article in The New York Times last week that revealed that Google had paid millions of dollars in exit packages to male executives accused of harassment, while staying silent about the transgressions.

@POLITICSNGR

Two personal security guards who attacked and robbed Innoson Motors lawyer, Professor McCarty Mbadugha have been captured, PoliticsNGR has gathered.

The guards made the confession after their arrest by the Lagos State police command.

A statement from the Spokesman for the Command, Chike Oti reveal that investigations are still ongoing.

“The Lagos State Police Command is investigating two security guards, Kingsley Okon Asuquo, 19 and Isaac Edet, 18, assigned to guard a Lagos lawyer, Prof. McCarty Mbadugha, from Strongcity Security Services but ended up attacking and robbing the same man that hired them for protective services,” it reads.

The operation was a follow-up to information received on October 13, 2018, from a source that armed bandits held one Barrister Joseph Mbadugha aka Professor McCarty Mbadugha, hostage in his office at JohnVic Igbanogo street, Lekki Phase one, Lagos; that the armed men were seen wearing Strongcity Security Services uniform.

Police said that based on the information, operatives from Maroko Police Station and FSARS Ikeja, jointly mobilized to the scene, and gave the bandit a chase and one of them, who gave his name as Isaac Edet, was nabbed at the scene.

“During interrogation, he mentioned and led detectives to arrest his partner in crime, one Kingsley Asuquo.

Interestingly, both suspects are staff of Strongcity Security Services attached to the victim. They claimed the victim does not pay their salary as at when due, hence they planned with others at large to rob him,” the statement said.

Items recovered from them are a bag containing laptop computer, cash sum of forty thousand Naira (N40,000.00), three cheque booklets, one iPhone-6. All these items were recovered from the thieves in the course of investigation.

Politics / Re: There’s Need To Adequately Fund NASS — Saraki, Dogara, Tambuwal by olaoreawofele: 3:47pm On Oct 23, 2018
Thank God Saraki and Tambuwal lost at the lost at the primaries. It is a disappointment that the duo has not yet realized that the output of the NA cannot justify the amount of funding it spends when we look at the country's revenue, the infrastructure deficit, and the poverty. Most visionary Nigerians know that Nigeria should even do away with one chamber of the NA to reduce the amount being spent on the NA and to free funds for the masses. The politicians and elites like Saraki and Tambuwal truly do not know the extent of the hardships in the land.

loladeji:
President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and former Speaker and Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, have called for adequate funding of the National Assembly.
The three Nigerian leaders, who spoke at the convocation ceremony of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS/University of Benin Post Graduate Programmes for the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 academic sessions held at the National Assembly, yesterday, said lawmakers in the eight assembly had committed themselves to improving the lives of Nigerians.

They also harped on adequate funding of both arms of legislature because of the important role they play in nation building.
The Senate President, who is the chairman of NILD Governing Council, said core legislative, oversight and representative functions of the legislature are to contribute to the quality of governance.
He said: ‘’There is no gainsaying the fact that the core legislative, oversight and representative functions of the legislature provide an essential contribution to the quality of our democracy and governance as a whole.

“In the eighth National Assembly, the legislature has played a greater role in policy formulation and has engaged more robustly with the Executive at the various stages of policy formulation. This stems from our conviction that the task of nation-building must be a collective one, and this sometimes requires sacrifices on the part of the individual.

“Many of the legislative measures we have pursued since 2015 have been targeted at driving productivity, easing access to finance, creating jobs and improving livelihoods. Legislative proposals in this area are focused on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs, particularly in reducing regulatory burdens and easing access to capital, with the objective of having a large number of sustainable fast-growing small and mid-size businesses.
‘’We have also taken legislative action to tackle tax avoidance and evasion, to encourage
compliance with tax obligations by all persons.”

Also noting that the National Assembly had helped save Nigeria from collapse, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, said to attain stable, strong and effective governance in Nigeria, the National Assembly must receive priority attention in terms of capacity building.
Arguing that the legislature was the true face of democracy, Dogara said it was preferable to build healthy and strong institutions as the legislature than strong personalities.

He said: “It is our considered opinion that if there is any institution of government that should receive priority attention in terms of capacity building, it is the legislature. This is because the legislature is the true face of democracy.”
Governor of Sokoto State and a former Speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal, said there was an urgent need to properly fund the legislature.

He, however, noted that this might not be well received by the executive arm of government. According to him, to get better legislation churned out, the National Assembly needs funds.

Correctgist:
On the 1st of October, the senior pastor of the Deeper Life Bible Church, Pastor William Kumuyi and his wife, Esther, paid President Buhari a visit at the state house Abuja.

In a post he shared on his Facebook page this afternoon, former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, expressed his displeasure at the clergyman's visit to President Buhari. FFK says he is ashamed and outraged by the visit.

Read what he wrote below

My paternal great grandfather (my grandfather's father), Rev. Emmanuel Adelabi Kayode, was an Anglican priest. He was educated by the Christian missionaries and the Anglican Church and he studied theology at Fourah Bay College in Freetown, Sierra Leonne which was at that time a satellite campus of the United Kingdom's Universty of Durham.

In 1892 he graduated with honors with a Master of Arts degree in theology.
He was the first Anglican priest to introduce Christianity to the ancient town of Ile-Ife in the Osun province of the western region of the old Southern Protectorate of Nigeria and he was the first to build and Pastor a Church there.

He pastored the Church in Ile-Ife for many years before he was later transferred to Ondo province to head another branch of the Anglican Church for a further 16 years. After that he was posted to Ijebu province where he headed the local branch of the Anglican Church until he went into retirement in the old Lagos colony.

He was a deeply courageous man who loved the Lord passionately, who was totally dedicated and committed to the spreading of the gospel, who served the Church all his life and who was a great, powerful and fiery orator and preacher.
My second paternal great grandfather was
Rev. Joseph Suberu Fanimokun. He was my grandmother's father. He was also educated by the Anglican Church and he also graduated with honors in 1892 from Fourah Bay College in Freetown, Sierra Leonne.

He was also later ordained as an Anglican priest. He was appointed Principal of the famous Christian Mission Society (CMS) Grammar School in the Lagos colony in 1896 and he remained principal until 1914. CMS Grammar School is the first and oldest secondry school in Nigeria.

These facts, coupled with the fact that I am a devout and practising Evangelical/Pentecostal Christian, are a pointer to my rich Christian heritage and I am very proud of that.
It is precisely because of that heritage that I have profound respect for the Body of Christ and that I revere all genuine men and women of God.

I have the deepest affection for each of them even where and when I do not totally agree with all their views, actions and submissions.
Yet despite that once in a while that affection is put to the test and my patience and good faith is exhausted.
The picture below provides a good example of this. Frankly it is difficult for me to fathom or fully comprehend what is going on there.

I see the much-loved and highly respected Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi of Deeper Life (one of the greatest Churches on the African continent and a pioneer Church within the Pentecostal denomination in Nigeria) and his wife felicitating with a man under whose watch more innocent and defenceless Nigerians, and particularly Christians, have been slaughtered than any other in the history of our country.

So much innocent blood has flowed under Buhari yet Pastor Kumuyi is still comfortable with smiling and shaking hands with him and neither has he said one word publicly about Leah Sharibu.
I and many others are saddened by this. This is all the more so because I happen to love Pastor Kumuyi and the Deeper Life Church. I always have and I always will.
Yet sadly I also feel a deep sense of shame and outrage about this outing. For how long must a few of our clerics embarass the Body of Christ and Christendom by bowing before our oppressors and encouraging them to continously torment, afflict and terrorise our people.

Pastor Kumuyi's photoshoot with Buhari reminds me of the famous picture of Pope Pius X11 shaking hands with and commending Adolf Hitler during the course of World War 11. The Catholic Church never lived it down and was compelled to tender a public apology for this grave error almost 50 years later.

Let us hope that one day every man and woman of God, whether he or she be a Pastor, Bishop, General Overseer or Archbishop, that has in any way supported, encouraged, applauded or colluded with the evil tyrant that has afflicted, scourged and plagued our land and our people over the last 3 years and six months will find the decency and courage to apologise for it.

Let us hope that more of our clerics can find the courage of the late Bishop Ajayi Crowther, the late Apostle Ayo Babalola, the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa, the late Rev. Musa Asake, Rev. Ayo Oritsejafor, Bishop Emmanuel Bolanle Gbonigi, Bishop David Oyedepo, Pastor David Ibiyomi, Dr. Paul Eneche, Prophet T.B. Joshua, CAN President Rev. Samson Ayokunle, Pastor Paul Adefarasin. Bishop El Buba, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, Apostle Samson Suleiman, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, Pastor Rhoda Awiliki and so many others.

They and countless other leaders of the clergy from all over the country that have remained true to their calling, stood firm in the face of tyranny, refused to bow to evil, spoken truth to power and stood up against the manifest injustice that has gripped the land are our pride and joy.

This man is a disgrace. He has been in the Senate before, what is he going to do again after 8 years as governor. These people should even pity the poor masses by stopping the recycling of their visionless leadership and retire with their loot to create space for people who can truly change the system.

kidap:
Oyo State Governor Abiola Ajimobi has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for Oyo South Senatorial District.

The result of the primary was announced on Wednesday by the Ademola Seriki who led electoral panel. Ajimobi defeated his close rival, Fola Akinosun with 2,659 to 168 votes.

Announcing the result in the early hours of Wednesday, Seriki said that the exercise, which started around 6:30 pm on Tuesday was delayed due the late arrival of voting materials from the national headquarters of the party in Abuja.

The Oyo South senatorial district spans nine local government areas, which are Ibarapa North, Ibarapa East, Ibarapa Central, Ido, Ibadan North, Ibadan South-East, Ibadan South-West, Ibadan North-East and Ibadan North-West. Governor Ajimobi after being declared the winner applauded the electoral committee for conducting what he described as an hitch-free and smooth primary, despite the earlier delay.

Africlegend:
Tinubu May Have to Cry!

Asiwaju is a wonder to behold. Tinubu is incredible too. He's undisputably the main man in Nigerian politics today. He's the most powerful whenever the President is not contesting. He was a senator when Nigeria's eyes was closed. He was a Governor when the sun was just rising and, the father of Governors at dawn. Tinubu fought, alongside others, Abacha and won. As Governor, he survived Obasanjo's greenades. Goodluck Jonathan understands that his name is not something of a joke. He did not only enthrone Buhari, but made his former aides vice-president and ministers in his government. Would you then argue that Asiwaju is not something else?

But, Tinubu may cry soon. Either Ambode loses today's primary or not, Asiwaju has a whole lot to fear. When people call you master, don't rejoice, tell them you are only a servant. Unfortunately, with the humiliation of Ambode, Asiwaju is openly calling himself the master of Lagos politics. He's calling himself the driver of Lagos' wheel in the public glare. He's telling lagosians that they are but his balls. He's telling the discerning that he owns Lagos and everything that breathes within its walls and, of course, all that is true; but it is better not said. Tinubu is openly counting his slaves, and our foregoers said wisely, that when you count your slaves, they become so sad. There will always be a counter coup. The people of Lagos will demand freedom soon, they will revolt and, history will repeat itself. The Jagaban of Lagos is planning his own fall and, I'm afraid.

The people will soon ask questions. They will ask Tinubu what the sins of Ambode are and, by the time such questions are being asked, not many answers will drink water. Thesame Ambode that was once acclaimed the best Governor in Nigeria? The same Ambode that has transformed lagos? Would lagosians have to replace him simply because he had refused to be totally submissive to the master? Would they reject him because of his personal issues with the Jagaban? Will any lagosian accuse Ambode of under-performance? Not even when it is public knowledge that this young man has pleaded with Asiwaju, not even when the people of Lagos know that his wife has appeased the god of Lagos politics.

Tinubu has enemies within the APC, not many Abuja politicians are pleased with him, or so it looks. It will not be a cup of tea to fight Ambode (maybe then as the opposition's candidate ), the opposition, the people of Lagos and, his in-house enemies at the same time. Discretion is a better part of valor. This is only an agidigbo drum, only the wise dances to it and the knowledgeable understands its lyrics.

Business / Re: NNPC Announces N18.12bn Trade Surplus by olaoreawofele: 12:51pm On Oct 01, 2018
Same NNPC that was running at a loss under PDP.
Hmmmmm

Humblechuks002:
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says it made a trade surplus of N18.12 billion in the month of May, higher than N17.16 billion in April 2018.

The Corporation made the disclosure in a statement signed by its Spokesman, Mr Ndu Ughamadu in Abuja on Monday.

He said details of the transactions was published in the corporation’s May 2018 edition of the Monthly Financial and Operations Reports. He noted that the report indicated that the additional monthly trade surplus of N0.96bn was mainly due to increased performance of some of the corporation’s subsidiaries.

He named the subsidiaries to include the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC), Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), Nigerian Pipelines and Storage Company (NPSC) and Marine Logistics. “Within the period, the NNPC Group performance was mainly impacted by NPDC’s performance which recorded a favorable variance of N18 billion due to increase in revenue with parallel decrease in expenses. “This resulted in N20.93billion net increase in the upstream gas and power surplus,’’ he said He added that the report indicated that the increase in performance was bolstered by relatively high production volumes of 1.97 million barrels per day in April, which was sold in May, thereby reducing cost per unit.

Under the national crude oil and natural gas production, lifting and utilisation segment, Ughamdu said the report noted that 58.96 million barrels of crude oil and condensate were produced in the month of April. This, he said, represented an average daily production of 1.97 million barrels. A breakdown of the production figure indicated that Joint Ventures (JV) and Production Sharing Contracts (PSC) contributed about 32.82 per cent and 41.77 per cent, while Alternative Financing (AF), NPDC and Independent producers accounted for 14.68 per cent, 7.65 per cent and 3.08 per cent.

Ughamdu noted that the report also indicated that the NPDC cumulative production from all fields within the period amounted to 47,759,229 barrels of crude oil which translated to an average daily production of 120, 909 barrels per day. On national gas production, the report stated highlighted that 231.59 Billion Cubic feet (BCF) of natural gas was produced in the months of May, translating to an average daily production of 7,785.01 Million Standard Cubic Feet per day (MMSCF/D).

“In the downstream sub-sector, NNPC continued to ensure increased petrol supply and effective distribution across the country. “ In May, 1.19 billion litres of petrol was supplied by NNPC, translating to 40.59mn Liters/day to sustain seamless distribution of petroleum products which resulted to zero fuel queue across the nation.

“In the month under review, the corporation continued to monitor petrol evacuation figures from depots across the nation, and engaged, where necessary, the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) and other stakeholders through existing Joint Monitoring Team,’’ He added (NAN)

Your opinion does not define me. My conscience and deeds do. Someday, your likes will admit to their error of judgment.

She was a nurse who went to help others in a war torn zone.God will bring her murderers to Justice I pray God will comfort her loved ones, she was only 25. She may have been killed because the wicked Political handlers of Boko Haram need more ransome money to run for 2019 elections. Now they will expect money to be quickly paid for the other captives. Otherwise Boko Haram are known to keep captives for long without killing them so why the hurry now?Christ will expose and disgrace them all, he who lives by the Sword must die by the Sword. Men who have Mothers, sisters and daughters agreed to shoot dead an unarmed Woman .It is just too bad.

May the soul of Saifura Ahmed rest in peace. Apparently, her murder did not prickle the conscience of the nation because she is Saifura Ahmed, a Muslim. If it was Lear that was reported murdered today, one imagines the outcry of Islamization that would have rented the air. May God give us the mind to be fair to all.

It is not absolute to fight an oppression from the outside. At times, fighting from within is the best. Remember Gorbachev of former the Soviet Union and FW De Klerk of SA. No point hating Osinbajo. The few opportunities he had as an acting president has been well utilized. GEJ had a rare chance when power accidentally fell on his lap but alas, he was overtaken by greed and fear. Someday, the status quo will be upturn if we try had enough.

Why can’t pastor and professor Yemi Osibanjo quit from this useless government if he is not driven by money and greed?
