Djicemob:Here: Reports coming out of Mubi and Vimtim of major setbacks in the war against terrorism are distressing. Our thoughts and prayers are with our troops and those besieged by those marauding terrorists. May God keep you safe and grant us victory. It is becoming clear that the government lacks any coherent strategy on fighting terrorism. Any strategy for fighting terrorism must revolve around the 4Ds (Defeat, Deny, Diminish and Defend). That entails DEFEATING terrorism by exposing its sponsors and disrupting its support, DENYING it sanctuary and flushing it out of its safe havens, DIMINISHING the underlying conditions that terrorists seek to exploit like radicalism, intolerance and underdevelopment, and DEFENDING against new threats and proliferation of existing ones by targeting terrorist infrastructure wherever it exists. On the humanitarian level, the authorities must make provisions to feed the millions that are hungry, provide clothing and shelter for those displaced, and medical care and rehabilitation for the wounded and deeply traumatized. I strongly believe that Nigeria will not only defeat terrorism, but will succeed in bringing its sponsors and supporters to justice, no matter how long. May God help our troops. God bless Nigeria! |
mekaboy:You lie! Buhari offered solutions many times. I even posted some on Nairaland here. But how do you offer solutions to a person who labels you as the cause of the problem? Like I said earlier, GEJ has been the most pampered president Nigeria ever had. Yet he's failed for 6 years....and you want us to add another 4 ![]() |
mekaboy:This is the line that got me vexed!!!! GEJ is perhaps the luckiest president EVER! He had almost everything on a platter. Oil boom, people's support, name it. I supported him against the cabal of Turai and that went on till his election. However, GEJ turned COMPLETELY against the masses as soon as he became president. He turned deaf to the yearnings of the people. When people died during NIS test, the whole country was calling for the sack of the interior minister. That same minister is still waxing strong in GEJ administration. GEJ's only soothener to that incidence was a 'promise' of auto employment for the families of the victims. That is yet to be done! Look at the subsidy issue too. Is it not clear now that GEJ wasnt for Nigerians? what has the average joe on the street gotten out of this government? For you to then say a 'LARGE PERCENTAGE' are waiting to see him fail, it is a sign of total brainwash and disregard for the masses. Anyways 2015 will tell. |
odave:What blind hatred? Jonathan became a substansive president in 2009. Since then, oil prices had been going up until few months ago. One needs to ask, what impact of the high oil prices did Nigerians feel? As you can see from the graph, Jonathan had it very good in terms of oil revenue.
|
Rilwayne001:I disagree. You stated that 'any fluctuation in international market affects the naira'. One then needs to ask, what happened to the naira when oil prices were shooting up.
|
nikpet2:Currently 1USD is going for 172 naira, and it looks likely to fall greater. I predict USD to enter 200 naira by the week preceeding elections. CBN will not be able to buy back Naira's powers anymore and as usual, they will throw the blames on the common man. Common man who was not aware that our income from oil hit the rooftop over the last 16 years of PDP. |
The funny thing about this discussion is that currently, the naira is nose diving. This really should not happen to a country like Nigeria when we have earned so much in the last 16 years (of PDP). The other day, I put a topic on Bloomberg's forcast for the naira. Naira is currently at an all time low and there is NO remedy in sight. Today, CBN is trying to cap dollar/naira trade, but is that going to solve anything? Seeing the figures spent by Jonathan makes it even frightening. Where did all the money go? Naira will depreciate further as election approaches. Oil prices are falling, BUT still higher than it was pre-PDP. I really fear for the price of things in Nigeria next year. Unless offcourse we have a change in the economic/finance team. |
Chommieblaq:Ignorant Nigerian. I knew the rebasement will fo.ol a lot of gullible folks. And you claim to 'know better'. Let me use football to give you example. Say Nigeria vs Congo, and Nigerian strikers could not score for 85 minutes. Nigerians then remove Congo goal keeper and move the post to the middle of the field, then we score 20 goals. Does that mean Nigerian strikers have improved? |
PDP members share the money! 220 million for 2000 families. The remaining ones can shout alleluya |
and Buhari hasnt even started campaigning....We may see a replay of HOPE 93 all over again. |
Safe to say APC will win Kwara both gubernatorial and presidential. Next... |
These are the type of people Nigerians need to start promoting. Rather than giving publicity to thieves and criminals. The girl played her heart out because she still believes in this country. We have people like her all over the country. Only problem is that our voices are being downed by the lousy criminals. |
In 1999, oil prices was about 10USD per barrel, our government was still functioning. With oil prices reaching 100USD, our government went into looting overdrive. The masses will not be affected by any oil price drop. |
When you have a news item that makes GEJ supporters gidi, then know that the news item is fake and full of lies. They did the same thing with Omisore's tribunal results, lied against Buhari, etc. |
Can the highly knowledgeable Police IG now do the needful and return his security to him. GEJ forced to eat the humble pie again for his lack of clue. |
Fear of God. |
The looting of treasury continues as TAN splashes 10M on Super falcons. The non-political campaign group has appreciated the Super Falcons for their latest success in Namibia where they won the African title for the seventh time The Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria [TAN] has rewarded the Super Falcons for emerging continent's Champions at the 2014 African Women Championship in Namibia for a record seventh time with a cash of 10 million naira. like play like play, bomblasts have become a 'norm' under PDP. |
lol. Whats up with this opening many threads and directing people to its website. |
erunz: mazzi:you must have been present at state council meetings to know Buhari or any of our past leaders did not offer GEJ advice. The only hypocrite here is you lot. Initially Buhari was said to be desperate for power, offering no solutions to national problems. Now he offers a near water tight solution and you pathetic lot still cant take it. |
Unlike our confused president who doesnt seem to know what to do and when to do it, GMB has outlined a clear strategy to end the insurgency once and for all. Here is what was written on his facebook page: Reports coming out of Mubi and Vimtim of major setbacks in the war against terrorism are distressing. I am not scaremongering, but if GEJ is voted in again, Boko Haram will capture at least 7 states while GEJ will comtinue blaming his imaginary enemies as he's done in the past 6 years. |
Any news coming from Hope for Nigeria needs to be nabbed from this forum. This is the same facebook page that started the Omisore tribunal victory nonsense. Obviously the guys in charge of that page are at home with lies and deceit. |
Meanwhile, apart from the security challenges, his government also has been beset by corruption allegations.A parliamentary report detailed a $6.8 billion fuel subsidy fraud. A government investigation revealed corrupt cut price crude sales to oil majors that cost the treasury billions. And a former central banker has reported that between$10 and billion $20 billion had been diverted by thestate oil firm over 18 months between 2012 and last year. The government pledged to investigate the first two cases and denied the third.Last month, South Africa froze two payments fromthe Jonathan administration totaling $15 million that it suspected were for illegal arms deals. Nigeria said the deals were legal.Yet it is a testament to Nigeria's complex mix of ethnic rivalry, patronage and intense competition for centralized oil wealth in Africa's top producer that Jonathan can brush off these various scandals and attract a high level of support.Technical knock out of Nigerians who support GEJ. |
The article, if anything, highlights the gullibility of Nigerians. Jonathan is clearly seen as a no-good, weakling, who is properly described as 'accidental'. The article also clearly states that Jonathan has no support from Nigerians. However, he has his hands in the treasury, and can buy enough votes to win him election. That remains to be seen. "Expectations in the electorate are fairly modest and they are hugely disenfranchised, despite ... years of civilian rule,"There you go PDP. PDP since 1999 has lowered our expectation of democracy, left Nigerians disenfranchised. How this translate to good news for GEJ is beyond me. But again...the sadder Nigerians are, the happier PDP goons become. |
I pray this is not true. If it turns out to be true, then am afraid we have the most unintelligent military chiefs in the world. |
In 2011, it was 'Northerners vs Southerners' and GEJ used that to his full advantage. In 2015, GEJ travelling to Israel and kneeling before clergies to whip up religious sentiments. Shame some eejits are falling for it. How many christians died during immigration job saga? How many Muslims have been killed by BH? How many Christian youths are unemployed? Buhari has NEVER put up a religious front. He even stated in one interview that he 'was not knowledgeable enough' to comment on issues of Sharia. I am however not baffled, because most of the people commenting against Buhari are his worst critics who are hanging to the last thread of religion to tarnish the man's image GEJ on the other hand has ruled for 6 years and is directly responsible for the death of thousands of Nigeria through insecurity and poverty. |
IfyAwazie:...till Buhari takes over. |
Now the opposition control the house of rep. Time to roughen up Jona boy a bit. Afterall ordinary Turai made him shat his pata. |
Ekiti kete. Fayose repeating exact thing he did in his 1st term. Nothing! He will make all noise about past govs and use that as a cover to steal money. His 10Billion naira poultry project is one of the worst embezzlement cases in history. Borrowing chicken for OBJ to see so as to commission it, with OBJ wondering why a poultry farm smelt of paint and not chicken poo. |
hahaha. I knew this came from Hope for Nigeria. The way these guys just cook up lies to heat up the country is bad. Wendel Simlin ish |
But you didnt reject Bayelsa's money as a ghost perm sec. |
