HOME JUST IN NEWS 2019 ELECTIONS POLITICS METRO PLUS SPORTS BUSINESS ENTERTAINMENT COLUMNIST EDITORIAL SPECIAL FEATURES ADVERTISE Punch Newspapers – The most widely read newspaper in Nigeria logo 00:00 2' Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu POLITICS Some people being sponsored to malign Asiwaju in Hausa language —Shehu Sani Published April 15, 2019 The senator representing Kaduna Central at the Senate, Shehu Sani, has said that some individuals are being strategically sponsored to attack and malign the personality of Asiwaju on Hausa radio services in Kaduna and environs. The senator noted that the attack on Asiwaju’s person couldn’t have been sponsored by the opposition. He added that he excluded the opposition from his suspicion about the identity of the sponsors of the verbal attack because he knows the background of the kind of people being engaged for the dirty job. He warned that certain wars start as a sniper, whereby someone shoots from a hiding place accurately and at long range, before it blossoms into full war. Sani made this known via his verified Twitter handle @ShehuSani on Monday. The senator had tweeted: Some people are strategically being sponsored to attack and maligned the Asiwaju in Hausa language in Hausa Radio in Kaduna and environs. This certainly couldn’t have come from the opposition knowing the background of the kind of people being used. Some wars begins with a sniper. — Senator Shehu Sani (@ShehuSani) April 15, 2019 While Shehu Sani did not add any other name to the Asiwaju identity, it may be recalled that the National Leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, goes by the title of Asiwaju, and he is currently the most popular Nigerian politician that goes by that appellation. From 1942 to 1945, it was the policy of the U.S. government that people of Japanese descent would be interred in isolated camps. Enacted in reaction to Pearl Harbor and the ensuing war, the Japanese internment camps are now considered one of the most atrocious violations of American civil rights in the 20th century. Tooling and instrumentation is very important aspect of a civilisations. Africa is still using 17th century tools @ 21st century. We've been long denied access to tools and electricity. A cutlass will cultivate in 1 year what a tractor will cultivate in 1 hour. Nigeria with population of 200 millon hardly maintains the size of electricity a nuclear plant set for 200 thousand population in Europe. How do we move forward when we are on reverse gear? |

Obichie - Senator Kabiru Marafa has offered another wife to Senate President Bukola Saraki in appreciation for the approval of the N10 billion intervention funds for Zamfara - The Zamfara lawmaker also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for intervening in his state’s security situation - Marafa further teased Senator Shehu Sani over his impending exit from the Senate; pointing out that they were going to be together in retirement The senator representing Zamfara Central in the upper legislative chamber, Kabiru Marafa, has offered Senate President Bukola Saraki another wife. The Zamfara lawmaker made the offer on the floor of the red chamber on Thursday, April 11 as he thanked his colleagues for the approval of the N10 billion intervention funds for Zamfara, following the heightened insecurity in the state, The Cable reports. A lady in my constituency said I should tell you specifically that she has never seen you hit the gavel the way you did yesterday and I should tell you that when you commence your sabbatical, that she has offered herself to marry you, if you so wish. “I told her to wait until we see facts and figures in the 2019 budget. With respect and apology to madam at home but from where I come, you are allowed up to four wives. So madam should please keep space because anytime I sit at home and look at the size of the house, I feel it is grossly underutilised.” The Zamfara lawmaker also thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for intervening in his state’s security situation. He said: “On behalf of all the people of Zamfara state, I want to thank you so much and also the leadership of the Senate.” He added: “Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, they wish you a successful retirement as government pikin. “Senator Shehu Sani, you are legislatively violent with your chairmanship of the Committee on Foreign and Domestic Debts and we are all going to be together in retirement; me, you and Senator Monsurat. “They said I should tell the chairman of appropriations and members that you have done your utmost best and look forward to your efforts and cooperation. “I thank Senator Adeyeye as a retiring senator, you performed very well. Obviously nobody will say they want to marry you. (Laughter). “Distinguished Senator Ekweremadu, you are donning quite a befitting cap today. You have called for a state of emergency in Zamfara but I will advise you don’t visit the Senate president in the office today for very obvious reasons.” On his part, Saraki made a case for the funds to be approved and appreciated all the senators who contributed to the debate on the insecurity in the state.
