WILL SMITH
SMACKS CHRIS ROCK AT THE OSCARS ...
'Keep My Wife's Name Out Your F****** Mouth!!!'

3/27/2022 7:50 PM PT
UPDATE8:01 PM PT -- Will Smith seems to have some people in his corner ... including Denzel Washington and Tyler Perry, who were seen comforting him after the show went to break.

The two actors could be seen chatting to WS off to the side, and they eventually led him back to his table ... where he was embraced by someone else. Will is said to have been apparently wiping tears from his eyes.
It's unclear if he'll be allowed to stay for the rest of the show.
In a truly shocking moment, Will Smith just smacked Chris Rock in the face after the comedian made a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith at The Oscars.

Chris was up on stage Sunday presenting for Best Documentary, but before he started naming the nominees ... he was firing off zingers to the crowd, and eventually landed on Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.

ABC
Chris made a comment about Jada's shaved head ... saying he couldn't wait to see 'G.I. Jane 2' -- which got some groans from the crowd, to which he just sorta shrugged off.

Chris didn't think he'd crossed a line, but Will clearly did ... because he stormed the stage and literally socked the dude in the face. A stunned Rock exclaimed, "Wow. Will Smith just smacked the s*** outta me."

ABC
The American broadcast on ABC muted, and even froze, but in other countries it continued ... and Will shouted "Keep my wife's name out your f****** mouth" twice to Chris.

Chris eventually gained his composure again and carried on with handing out the Oscar, but the room was left tense with a sense of unease.

Russia will not be allowed to play their World Cup qualifier against Poland on Thursday
The Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld FIFA's decision to ban Russia from its competitions
The ruling is similar to CAS' decision earlier in the week upholding UEFA's ban
Russia had asked for the bans to be frozen until their full appeals proceedings had been concluded
CAS' decision almost certainly ends Russia's participation in the World Cup in Qatar later this year
Russia's request to freeze a FIFA ban on its soccer teams ahead of next week's World Cup qualifying playoffs was dismissed on Friday.

FIFA said the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) dismissed the Russian soccer federation's bid for an urgent interim ruling to freeze the ban pending a full appeal.

The CAS decision means Russia will not be able to play Poland in World Cup qualifying on Thursday and almost certainly means Russia cannot feature at the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

They had been in a four-team play-off path also featuring Poland, Sweden and the Czech Republic with the semi-finals and final being played later this month.

Poland, who had originally been due to play Russia in a play-off semi-final, have been granted a bye to the final where they will face either Sweden or the Czech Republic on March 29.

The ruling follows a similar CAS refusal on Tuesday to freeze UEFA's ban on Russian national and club teams in European soccer.

Russian athletes have been banned from competing in multiple sports because of the country's invasion of Ukraine. Belarusian athletes have also been banned because their country has been an ally of Russia.

FIFA was initially pilloried for it's response to Russia's invasion, announcing a set of 'interim measures' that would allow Russia to continue competing, but at neutral venues and without their nation's flag or anthem.

However, opposition to the measures gathered significant momentum, and Poland, Sweden and the Czech Republic sent a joint letter to FIFA at the end of last month saying they would refuse to face Russia in the play-offs.

Just one day later, FIFA and UEFA ruled jointly on February 28 that all teams and clubs from the country could not take part in their competitions.

The move meant Russia would not be allowed to fulfil their qualifier against Poland and effectively ended their chance of participating in the World Cup in Qatar later this year.

UEFA further announced that the venue of this year's Champions League final would move from Russian city St Petersburg to French capital Paris.

After the announcements, the Football Union of Russia (FUR) launched two appeals against FIFA and UEFA's decisions with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, and demanded that their ejection by both football authorities be stayed until full appeal procedures had been completed.

A ruling in the FUR's favour would, in effect, have allowed Russia to continue competing in all football competitions until CAS made its final judgment on the two separate appeals.

However, in a second blow in just a few days, the FUR failed in its proceedings against FIFA.

CAS earlier this week upheld UEFA's decision to ban Russian sides from their competitions - although a full hearing is yet to come
In a statement on Friday, CAS said: 'The president of the appeals arbitration division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected the request filed by the Football Union of Russia (FUR) to stay, for the duration of the CAS proceedings, the execution of the FIFA Council’s decision to suspend all Russian teams and clubs from participation in its competitions until further notice (the challenged decision).

'Accordingly, the challenged decision remains in force and all Russian teams and clubs continue to be suspended from participation in FIFA competitions. The CAS arbitration proceedings continue.

'A Panel of arbitrators is currently being constituted and the parties are exchanging written submissions. No hearing has been fixed yet.'

The decision echoes the similar verdict that CAS reached on Tuesday in the FUR's complaint against UEFA, which ruled that 'all Russian teams and clubs continue to be suspended from participation in UEFA competitions.'

That ruling means Spartak Moscow, the only Russian side left in the latter stages of the Champions League, Europa League or Europa Conference League, were thrown out of the Europa League last 16, with their opponents RB Leipzig receiving a bye.

CAS may yet rule to overturn FIFA and UEFA's decision when it makes its full judgment, which would see Russia reinstated.

A police officer simply identified as Sergeant Bello has shot and killed at least six mobile police officers in Maiduguri, Borno State capital.

The incident happened inside the police college quarters of Borno Police headquarters in Maiduguri, according to sources.

A senior police officer told our correspondent that the errant officer is currently being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

A family source said the police sergeant had a misunderstanding with his wife and neighbours tried to intervene but he didn’t listen.

“He and his wife have been having issues for some time now; we tried to settle it amicably, but he refused.”

“The wife told her parents that the sergeant assaulted her; she moved her things out of his house. The wife left due to severe maltreatment by her husband.

“He started shooting and threatened to kill everyone. Unfortunately, he shot people, but six mobile policemen died and two others are currently receiving treatment at Specialist Hospital.

“He razed down two blocks of eight rooms in the process and also shot his father-in-law.”

The effort to get reactions from police proved abortive as the line of the Police Public Relations Officer in Borno, was switched off at the time of filing this report.

BREAKING: NDLEA files eight charges against Abba Kyari, six others

Eight charges have been filed against the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari, and six others over their involvement in alleged drug trafficking.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency filed the charges before a Federal High Court in Abuja Thursday.

Moments after Kyari was declared wanted by NDLEA on February 14, the Nigeria Police Force, through the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, announced Kyari’s arrest.

The agency said the police handed over Kyari to NDLEA at the Force Intelligence Bureau of the Nigerian Police Force, to the anti-narcotic agency.

NDLEA also said the senior cop was caught on camera handing over $61,400 in cash to compromise its operative.

The suspended cop was invited for questioning on February 10 but did not show up or respond, according to the NDLEA.

The senior police officer was earlier suspended after he was implicated by Nigerian influencer Ramon Abbas, known as Hushpuppi, who pleaded guilty to money laundering and other crimes in the United States.

Kyari, who became famous for exposing a string of high-profile crimes in Nigeria, denied the allegations against him.

On Thursday, the Federal Government approved the request by the United States of America to extradite the suspended Kyari over alleged $1.1million wire fraud involving Abass Ramon aka Hushpuppi and four others.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), made this known in an application filed before the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Details later…

PoliticsFG Approves US Request For Abba Kyari’s Extradition by olatade(op): 6:40am On Mar 03, 2022
**AGF satisfied reasons for extradition request not political

**Says it will not be unjust or oppressive to surrender Kyari

The Federal Government on Thursday approved the request by the United States of America, for suspended Commander of the Police Intelligence Response Team, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari, to be extradited over the $1.1million wire fraud perpetrated by Abass Ramon aka Hushpuppi and 4 others

Government’s approval was made known by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) when he filed an application before the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja for Kyari’s extradition.

The application marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/249/2022 was filed under the Extradition Act.

The AGF said the application followed a request by the Diplomatic Representative of the U.S. Embassy in Abuja.

The request is “for the surrender of Abba Alhaji Kyari, who is a subject in a superseding three counts indictment”

The AGF said he was satisfied that the offence in respect of which Kyari’s surrender is not political nor is it trivial.

The AGF also expressed satisfaction that the request for the surrender of Kyari was not made to persecute or punish him on account of his race, religion, nationality or political opinions but in good faith and the interest of justice.

He said Kyari, “if surrendered, will not be prejudiced at his trial and will not be punished, detained or restricted in his personal liberty, by reason of his race, nationality or political opinions”.

The AGF said having regard to all the circumstances in which the offence was committed, it will not be unjust or oppressive, or be too severe a punishment, to surrender him.

Malami said he was also satisfied that Kyari has been accused of the offence for which his surrender is sought.

He noted that there was no criminal proceeding pending against Kyari in Nigeria for the same offence.

Recall that in April 2021, a jury filed an indictment against Kyari with the approval of the U.S. District Court and demanded Kyari stand trial for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering and identity theft.

Consequently, the US Embassy requested for Kyari’s extradition saying, “On April 29, 2021, based on the indictment filed by the grand jury and with the approval of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, a deputy clerk of the court issued a warrant of arrest for Kyari.

“The arrest warrant remains valid and executable to apprehend Kyari for the crimes with which he is charged in the indictment.

“Kyari is wanted to stand trial in the United States for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering, and identity theft.

“Kyari is the subject of an indictment in case Number 2:21-cr-00203 (also referred to as 2:21-MJ-00760 and 2:21-CR-00203-RGK), filed April 29, 2021, in the United States District Court for the Central District of California.”

Kyari was accused of conspiring with a United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based Nigerian, Ramon Abbas, aka Hushpuppi to commit the crime.

The charges against Kyari reads, “Count one: Conspiracy to commit wire fraud, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1349, carrying a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years;

“Count two: Conspiracy to commit money laundering, in violation of Title 18, United States Code Section 1956(h), carrying a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years.

“Count three: Aggravated identity theft, and aiding and abetting that offence, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 1028A(a)(1) and 2(a), carrying a maximum term of imprisonment of two years.
