On the location, I made a mistake it was Ukwu-Nzu Thanks for that correction. I don't need you to believe the story. What I heard is what I passed on. Benin has a strong relationship that commons like you don't know. Learn!

Culture / The Oyo Versus The Benin - My Experience From Ozanagogo Trip by olawalepopoola: 11:40am On Aug 29, 2020
As a Geologist our major happiness lies in seeing and studying rocks in their natural State. With my colleagues and students we toured parts of Edo and Delta States to understand the rocks distributions in the area.
One of the places we visited that I will never forget in the course of my career was the deposit of white plastic clay of Ozanagogo. We left Benin and passed through Ogwashi-Uku to see the deposit. Something important happened when we reached this town. As a thumb rule, a Geologist must seek the consent of the owner of the land he/she wishes to explore. Therefore we had to head to the King's palace. To my utmost surprise, the King saw the name of our University 'Achievers University, Owo'. He immediately he saw this he beckoned on all his queens and Chieves to come and see their kinsmen. Kinsmen! We wondered how Yorubas are related to a town in Delta. Then the King told us the story of his empire.
He related to us that the pioneer King of the town who was his own ancestral Father was a grandson to Oramiyan, a powerful King in Yorubaland. He claimed that the Father to pioneer King was Bini. He further told us they common traditions with Yorubas and attend meetings of Yoruba Monarchs when the need arises.
Because it was already late that night and we couldn't continue our journey, He asked his queens to prepare rooms for us to pass the night and prepared a tasteful meal as dinner. We later went inside the town to watch to watch the historic 2012 European Champions league semi-final match between Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Story narrated. Something I noted in the narration of the King are:
(1) That the original King that formed the town is of Benin origin but with a grandfather of Yoruba extraction
(2) The title 'Oba' is exclusively used by the Yorubas to address their Monarchs. There is a possibility that the Binis must have contact with the Yorubas at a point in history.
(3) History had it that Oramiyan is a well travelled King who possibly restored back the Bini Empire back to its rightful owners
(4) It was learnt that during his voyage to rescue Bini (Known as Ile Ibinu by the Yorubas, possibly named due to the war they fought at that time), Oramiyan met the only existing Princess, whom he married and gave birth to a deaf son, who later inherited the throne. After him, he gave birth to another son through the same Princess who established Owo Kingdom (Owo is Yoruba town in Ondo State, SW Nigeria). The dressing of the Oba of Owo is similar to that of the Oba of Benin. I hope you know Ugbowo street in Benin, it was the name of the second son that established the Owo Kingdom.

You cannot be paying 25k as school fees in a tertiary institution and expect to get the same standard of education as private schools or even government owned schools outside the shores of University certificates in Nigeria have little or no value these days.
Quality education should be expensive.the earlier we realise this, the better.
What of countries offering free undergraduate University's education? Are they less developed?
Education / Re: Are Our Public Universities Going The Way Of Our Public Primary And Sec. Schools by olawalepopoola: 3:27pm On Jul 25, 2020
ASUU is a clog in the wheel of progress of Public University. I had the same arguments with a colleague in a private University where I work.
Wasting students time is non-sense.
Are we saying that Private Universities are more funded than Public Universities? If the private Universities can manage their little resources to achieve results, why not the public Universities.
M.Sc in most private Universities is 12 calendar months of 3 semester but in public Universities you can spend 4 years even without ASUU strike.
PhD in private Universities is maximum of 4 years but in public you can spend 15 years.
There is no discrimination of classes of grade given by private Universities. Their graduates are getting jobs many in Public sectors while public Universities students waste their time on strike
Tell me which one would you choose? Private or public.

I believe ASUU should be cancelled or strictly minitored

We are in third richest in bitumen deposit in the world if I am not mistaken
I know of a place in Ondo State that you cannot dig up to 10 feet before the water turns black because of bitumen deposit.
Yet, we import?
Well, even fuel we even produce, we also import it then what?
Nigeria, a theater of the absurd.

No it is second after Athabasca in Canada.
Ilubirin-Agabu is a type locality of bitumen in Nigeria

I think the OP doesn't know that the Yorubas are already planning their own country without others seeing it.
Out of the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria, only the southwest have a form of regional integration.
1. They have the Oodua group of companies owners of Wema Bank, Premier Hotel, Federal Palace Hotel.
2. Regional security outfit. Amotekun
3. They have developed geographical maps, currency. Infact they have decided their political and economic capital which are Ibadan and Lagos respectively.
4. They are already planning a regional examination council
5. They have the top ranked Universities in Nigeria.
6. The ocean is a blessing to this region.
Many more....
The day we decide to go... All would have been set for the exit .....

5 years course go turn 8 years for their wahala.
The discrimination between private and public Universities is gradually fading away. These incessant and uncontrolled strikes give private Universities graduate edge over their mates in public schools.

Parents should know their boundaries. Parenting a kid is different parenting a teenager.
Most parent fail to know this.
The first time I faced my mother was exactly 6 months after my wedding when she was doing everything she could to enter my home.
Frankly I told her that if she won't allow me or my wife enjoy her marriage when her own daughter is enjoying hers, then she won't hear from me again. I expressed my dissatisfaction about her behaviours to her very close friend and my maternal uncle. They thought I was joking until I faced her.
She don know her stand now...
