I don't understand what you mean that Kogi and Benue are more closer to River Niger, than east, I hope you know River Niger channel from Atlantic Ocean after Delta next town is Onitsha, Imo, before Benue another states in the North
Read this well.
River Niger source is Guinea and empties into the Atlantic ocean.

So many advice, because a man helps his own family that's d reason he will die?. d story is not complete, a man give his own brothers who own there various houses money and his own wife had a land am sure with other properties and yet d woman is still complaining. Again, am sure d man has been that way wen they were still dating and she went ahead a married him. The man can't die cos he's not complaining like d woman is doing
Helping is not bad, but when it is uncontrollable it becomes a nuisance. How can married women in another man's house call their brother at any slightest financial issue to help.
He is helping at the expense of his children's future.

My dear shine your eyes well well oooo...
A man's immediate family is his responsibility. After marriage his extended family is secondary. If he has excess he can help them. I am really sorry for your husband. Thank God I learnt this as a man very early in my marriage. I send money when I have it.
Yorubas have it that 'ohun taye ba so e da ooo, won fi bu e bo do la' meaning 'whatever humans turn you will be use against you tomorrow'.

I agree with you that we need God's help in Nigeria.

On University students paying 400k per session in the foreseeable future is bad news for the poor, but in the long run it may turn out to be the breakthrough we need in our education sector.

How do I mean?

Many departments in our universities will be forced to review their curriculum to make it more competitive or they will just go 'extinct'. Many lecturers will be forced to wake up or they will have no students to teach.
For instance I cannot as a parent, pay 400k per session for a course that will have no relevance in the present Nigeria job market.
Many courses, as are being taught in our universities today, is more or less a complete waste of 4 or 5 years.
I totally agree with you.
Education / Re: The Salary Of A Nigerian Professor After IPPIS (Pictured) by olawalepopoola: 4:07pm On May 19, 2020
It is unfortunate that we are in this mess.
I have a lecturer friend in FUTA and while discussing with him, he said his basic salary plus his allowances amounts to 140,000 as an assistant lecturer.
As a lecturer 2 in a private University in Nigeria I earn 130,000 monthly without allowances.
My questions are;
1. If the table is correct, why is it not showing their allowances e.g. hazard allowance, car allowance and the rest. I believe in every payslip, this is broken down.
2. With this peanut, how do you except breakthrough research when most lecturers use their 'gross' income to pay for article publications in gold open access journals.
China made landmarks in researches not because their scientists are only good, but because their government gave priority to research.
In China you are paid RMB100,000 for publishing in a 1 impact factor SCI journal. They have alot of research funding agencies (how many do we have in Nigeria).
Even a PhD student allowance in China is greater than that of a Professor in Nigeria.
In Nigeria, we don't have functional laboratories. As a Geologist, we don't trust data coming from Nigerian labs because they might have been doctored. We send our samples mostly to ACTLAB or ACME labs in Canada. This is ridiculous I believe.
Compared to Universities in Namibia, Nigerian Professors are paid an Assistant Lecturer salary in that country. Why do you think our best scholars are leaving the shores of this nation. If I have the opportunity too, I will run for my dear life.

Some complained that some lecturers teach in more than 2 public Universities. Firstly, I want you to know the basic requirements for teaching in a University is a PhD. It is because of dearth of PhD holders that this happen in Nigeria. To gain full accreditation, you need to have more of PhD holders on your team than just misters with M. Sc. Many fields lack these degree holders. Getting a PhD in Nigeria is a nightmare except you are favoured by God.

Aftermath of this ASUU protest.
1. Each University will be forced to look inwards to meet their needs. School fees will be sky rocketed. I forsee Universities students paying up 400,000K per session in not too distant future.

Nigeria is in shambles only God can help us.

This is really terrible. You are really in such a great mess.
The only solution is to run to Jesus Christ. No matter the amount of your sins, He is ready to forgive you. You cannot be delivered from that oath if you don't confess Him as your Lord and Savior. Read John 3 for more details on this
After begging mercy and accepting Jesus Christ, Go for a deliverance in a Bible believing church. I will suggest Mountain of Fire Ministry (MFM) for the deliverance. After this submit yourself total to the authority if Jesus Christ and work for advancement of his kingdom here in Earth.

The Oduduwa and Biafran struggle has come at a good time, but the minorities have been marginalized along the this two republics but is not supposed to be. Everyone and every people has the right to choose where they want to be. It's wrong to marginalize people because you feel they have similarities with you without first consulting them. I am not against these two republics wishing to extend a hand of fellowship to the minorities but it should be done in a democratic manner. The minorities are not gonna open their eyes and jump from frying pan to fire. I am not claiming to be a prophet but what I see is just Niger Delta producing about 3 countries alone but each time this is mentioned you all grow wild as if it's a crime to seek for the same Independence you're seeking for. If at this stage you act aggressive online I wonder how you all would act if those minorities go with you. If the likes of:
1. Vatican City - 0.44 km²
2. Monaco - 2 km²
3. Nauru - 21 km²
4. Tuvalu - 26 km²
5. San Marino - 61 km²
6. Liechtenstein - 160 km²
7. Marshall Islands - 181 km
8. Saint Kitts and Nevis - 261 km²
9. Maldives - 300 km²
10. Malta - 316 km²

Can survive then I see no reason why the minorities cannot survive too. what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Let's stop all this bullying cos it won't work, if Nigeria that is bigger than Biafra and Oduduwa republic cannot shut you guys down then I don't see how you can shut the minorities down also. Let's join hands and free ourselves from this British contraption

That was the day Nigerians will never forget.
Obasanjo was to be executed the following day June 6, 1998.
On that day, Nigerian masses celebrated total freedom from the shackles of the high authoritarian Sanni Abacha.
Nigerians: Christians, moslems, traditional believers and atheist flooded the streets of Nigeria, hugged themselves and popped champagne to celebrate the victory.

It was BBC that broke that great news at 4:00 pm Nigerian time.
Obasanjo and Diya got their freedom

It is rather unfortunate that every now and then the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) go on incessant strikes. They go on these avoidable strikes but forget that they destroy the plans of the students they seem to fighting for.
Has ASUU forgotten so quickly, that statesmen in Nigeria don't have their wards in any of these Universities'.
Even many children of ASUU members are either studying outside the country or in best private universities in the country
Do they forget that these schools are the only hope of poor masses in Nigeria to get education.
Many parents struggle to pay their ward school fees while some students go through pain to train themselves. Some have lost their academic struggles due to inability to pay their. They ASUU) know that these students suffers the most when they go on strike. The Government cares less, because they have nothing to loose.
Many students have lost the opportunity to graduate and grab international scholarships due to this strike. Many have lost glorious and promising opportunities due to incessant strikes.
On behalf of #nigerianstudents we appeal to ASUU and the Government of Nigeria to shield their swords. This is because when two elephants (ASUU and FGN) fight, the grass (students) suffer most.

Health / Researcher 'on Verge Of Making Very Significant' Coronavirus Findings Killed by olawalepopoola: 2:07pm On May 06, 2020
By Tim Stelloh
A medical researcher said to be on the "verge of making very significant" coronavirus findings was found shot to death over the weekend in Pennsylvania, officials said.
Bing Liu, 37, a researcher at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, was found dead Saturday inside a home in Ross Township, north of Pittsburgh, the Allegheny County medical examiner said.
He had been shot in the head and the neck, the agency said.
An hour after Liu's body was discovered, a second person, Hao Gu, 46, was found dead inside a car less than a mile away, the agency said.
Ross Township police Detective Sgt. Brian Kohlhepp told NBC News that the men knew each other. Investigators believe Gu killed Liu before returning to his car, where he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Kohlhepp said authorities are still investigating their relationship and a potential motive for the killing.
Liu, who earned a Ph.D. in computational science from the National University of Singapore, worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Carnegie Mellon University before becoming a research associate at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

In a statement, the University of Pittsburgh described him as an excellent mentor and prolific researcher who had co-authored more than 30 papers. His work focused on systems biology.

"Bing was on the verge of making very significant findings toward understanding the cellular mechanisms that underlie SARS-CoV-2 infection and the cellular basis of the following complications," the school said. "We will make an effort to complete what he started in an effort to pay homage to his scientific excellence."

Health / Can Nigeria Learn From Madagascar? by olawalepopoola: 11:37am On Apr 28, 2020
As the world continue to battle with COVID-19 pandemic and each country struggles with their cases, Madagascar an Island in South Africa has managed the pandemic very well.
As of today, Madagascar have not recorded new cases of COVID-19 while most of the patients have been cured without no record of death.
How did they make it?
1. The Government didn't solely rely on foreign donors as Nigerian does.
2. They source from the local herbs with
a 100% effective cure rate which is not a good news for World Health Organization. Who ever believed that Africa can record such breakthrough. Truly God give power and also remove the same.
Africa might have found the cure to CORONA VIRUS.
Nigeria should contact Madagascar since they are our brothers, learn the secret of their success and ask them the local herbs used in achieving this feat.
Nigeria is blessed with many herbs that can help fight this pandemic. If our leads are sincere, there be need for all these brouhaha.

Scientists from the University of Ibadan claimed that our local herbs can help us fight the virus. Read their claim below:

Family / Re: What To Do When A Woman Insist On Court Marriage by olawalepopoola: 10:42am On Apr 28, 2020
I think I will support the woman. She must have seen something you are not seeing. If you really love your woman and want to secure the lives of her future and that of your children, then go for the court marriage.
I really don't know which part of the country you are from, but from many experiences from married couple women not legally married go through a lot in the hands of unreasonable and mean in-laws after the demise of their husband (God forbid early death for us), claiming they have right to their brother properties. They won't allow the kids to have access to their Father's properties, talkless of their mother. Also, they might not have access to your entitlements from where you work.
I will greatly suggest you here to her plea, talk to her and hear her out.
