How do u even start commenting or carrying out an informed review of a book u haven't even read. Everybody is shouting out loud to be heard, when they dont even know how many pages are in the book. Oladat: Oga pidzo,facing the dish,should I turn it left or right.And again how far down is it to dstv(eg. If the marker on the dish says dstv is on 58).I'll really appreciate your help cos since joining this forum as a novice,I've been able to nail,w4,astra 2b,sirius 4,Amos 5,w3c and W7 without much difficulty,I dont know why this one is eluding me.Help!!!!!!!!!!

As a reference, from dstv position and with u standing behind the dish, let the dish come down till it looks like it is vertically straight, and shift alittle to ur left, play around dia and u'll surely hit green.

NB: As this satellite is almost nearly above the horizon, it is easily blocked by trees, houses, etc. Just make sure u have a clear line of sight to the east wit no obstructions and u are good to go. Don't give up yet. Cheers.

twinskenny: i ave similar problem before, let me be candid with you, one of the tv is generating current via either rf out input or the av cable.. u need to do a trace for you to resolve this..

You guys are the men. Just finished the tracing. A faulty laptop dat was connected via HDMI to one of the tv's was the culprit. Mehn, i work tire today. Even the thing shock me plenty sef, but it was worth it. Thanks once more to you two. Couldn't have done it without you guys. Please accept my warm regards. Cheers

favour112: thanks man. The dish did,nt fall but it seems it was the the lnb dat went out of its position. The lnb was attached to my dstv dish,meaning i am using both dish for dstv and multi tv. So broda with this tracking tp ,will i be able to get kktv(our tv) and rest other new channels? As soon as i get home from work i will try and get it done , that if it does,nt rain. I think d best thing u should do is dis; first select one of the multi tv channels. Den press the OK button and at the right hand side of the screen, read off the satellite name and freq. Den go to menu, installetion, manual scan, and scroll to the corresponding freq (which should be 12552, 19531 or their about). Den start ur tracking. I believe u should hit green. Try to make the signal come up well enough as kktv is a bit tricky these days. Den blind scan. Best of luck.

If the dish fell. Just make sure u secure it firmly dis time, den track with 12552 as freq, 19531 as symbol rate. Polarity can be V or H depending on ur LNBf scew. Cheers.

Ikiriye: I guess you are distributing signal to various TVs outside your house.if yes disconnect one by one the various output to each tv cause there is a faulty tv in your setup.cheers

Your help will be appreciated. I have a ten-decoder setup so each telly can be able to change within the ten channels independently. Now one of the decoders (METRO ) was showing no signal. As i was tracing the fault, i wanted to remove the antenna wire (it uses a yagi antenna) from the metro decoder and got an electric shock. Upon close investigation, i found out that the wire that went outside to the antenna, when touched against the metallic body of anything plugged into an electric socket, gives off a fairly big visible spark. I believe dis is why it was showing no signal. Can anybody proffer a solution to this.

NB: the pole on which the antenna is hung is not touching anything apart from the ground where itis stuck in. And the wire that is sparking goes straight from the antenna to the decoder.

auchs: olenyi, d.lee and George_d, I could've declared interest for the eagles test. It's just that the thread runs faster than I can catch up (my schedules). My dish is hungry to shoot recklessly. As George have said, I think that the tests in other locations have ranked the lnbs alright because in satellite the signals in different locations might differ but the lnbs will rank same in all locations in Nigeria. I live in east with d.lee in same state and town. George, we hope to participate in future test and hunts.
