Anthony Joshua stopped his angry dad from clashing with promoter Eddie Hearn, following his son’s shock defeat to Andy Ruiz. Though it is not clear why Joshua’s father Robert clashed with Hearn in the ring, however the heated exchange was caught on camera in the background as Ruiz was being interviewed in the ring following his unexpected seventh-round win. Hearn who has been criticized from some quarters over his handling of Joshua’s career and an inability to book a fight with the heavyweight’s two big boys – Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, was confronted in the ring by Joshua Snr. 

He seemed to be directing a verbal tirade at Hearn in the background before the Joshua stepped in to talk to his dad. "Anthony Joshua dad looked like he wanted to knock Eddie Hearn out, wonder what happened?" a fan asked on Twitter. 

However Anthony Joshua stepped in and stopped his angry dad from clashing with Hearn over his defeat. “No, it’s me… I’m the one fighting,” Joshua could be heard telling his father as he gestured and pointed in the promoter’s direction. Hearn was booed by supporters when he was interviewed in the ring after the bout and branded Joshua's performance "sloppy".

The operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a suspected notorious drug dealer, Chimezie Okoye, in Anambra State as they also seized N45m tramadol in Kaduna.

The arrest of the drug dealer in Anambra which came after a N45m tramadol was seized in Kaduna, was announced by the spokesman of the NDLEA in the state, Charles Odigie Efosa. The suspect was arrested on May 25, with 6.5 grammes of methamphetamine and 3.3 kg of Cannabis Sativa (skunk) at his God of Grace Lodge “5” Decking in Awka. He will be charged to court after investigation is concluded. 

Operatives of the NDLEA who also seized Tramadol drugs which was in 950,000 tablets and reportedly worth over N45 million at shaikh Gumi Market in the state, said it was brought in from from Onisha in Anambra State.

Some angry villagers in Cross River State buried a man alive for beheading his elder brother, just few weeks after the demise of their mother.

The man from Liokom village in the Wanihem community, Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State, who was buried alive in same grave with his brother by the villagers, was simply identified as Ojemba. It was gathered that before the incident occurred, Ojemba had no quarrel with his brother, Obok. It was further learnt that when villagers tried arresting him, he threatened to behead anyone who came close to him.

“He went inside his room, daring anyone to come close. But three young men defied the threat, went to his room and dragged him out,” the eyewitness added. Punch reported that the villagers agreed that the incident was an abomination, and insisted that Ojemba too must die with his brother.

“They tied his arms and legs and dumped him inside the grave they dug for his brother and placed his brother’s body on him and covered the grave with earth. He was begging and shouting that they should have mercy on him, but nobody listened. This happened a few weeks after their mother died" a source said.
