“Palm Sunday, Blood Sunday” In Angwan Rukuba, the palms were raised— not for hosannas alone, but surrender. Green fronds became green flags of grief, waving not to a King, but to the familiar procession of death. They came again. Yes—again— as seasons come, as harmattan returns, as promises break with ritual precision. Herdsmen, they say— yet what do they herd? Cattle… or coffins? The land knows the answer. It drinks deep. While blood wrote fresh scriptures on Plateau soil, our polished prophets of politics gathered under brighter lights— not to mourn, but to rehearse 2027, as though ballots could resurrect bones. Their conventions— how fitting a word— for truly, this grief has been convened before. Every election cycle, they campaign on corpses, count votes with fingers still wet from condolence handshakes. And somewhere in starched uniform calm, a voice of command assures us— not all killers deserve death. Ah. Mercy, it seems, has found its voice— but only for those who silence others. Compassion blooms, but only on the graves of the unarmed. No surprise follows surprise anymore. Even the watchers now blink in rhythm with the dark. When guardians begin to sound like sympathisers, who then guards the grief? Here, a mother— holds a photograph that now holds her whole world. Her son smiles in pixels, alive only in trending sorrow. She does not weep loudly. Grief has outgrown sound. It sits heavy in her chest, like a question that refuses burial: How many times must a nation kill its own children before it calls it by its true name? A soldier recently spoke — foolishly brave, dangerously honest— asking that the sons of power taste the dust they command others to swallow. They answered him swiftly. Not with reason, but with discharge— as though truth were the real insurgent. Our leaders— architects of absence, engineers of fear— build insecurity like monuments, then commission silence to unveil it. They are gardeners of chaos, watering it with neglect, harvesting it with speeches. For a nation does not rot by accident. It is eaten— slowly, deliberately— from the top down. And until the feast ends, until those who dine on disorder are made to answer for every crumb of blood— this cycle will not break. Nigeria will not heal by prayers alone, nor speeches rehearsed in safe halls. It will only change when justice stops whispering and begins to thunder— when power fears consequence more than it fears the people. Until then, Angwan Rukuba is not a place. It is a pattern. And we— we are all learning how to mourn on schedule. ---Thad Imediegwu

When you want to send message to those Northern elders. |
Desmond Elliott has constituency funds which is a matter of obligation, Obi wasn't obligated in any way. Forget the aspirations you tie to it, for LP Presidential candidate, it was just a philanthropic gesture. |
RuddyFusion:You know |
Orashi region cast , big time. There was a time when you wake up every morning to another headless body. It goes out to every Politician who directly or indirectly sponsors thuggery, hooliganism, militancy or terrorism. |
Good evening fellow NL members, My story may be long but pls endeavor to read to the end so that you can make proper suggestions or advice. I have been married for more than 10yrs now with beautiful kids, my marriage is one that many Young guy will wish to have, but along the the line I don't know what happened things begin to nose dive. In the last 6yrs I discovered that I struggle to make love to my wife, she will either tell you ohh, she is tire or she don't like sex much..this I have endured for all this years with no cheating. Her qualities are She can cook She can keep the house clean She can manage resources And she is accommodating to my people In all this years I have never cheated on her, proudly saying it coz my dad warned me of cheating on my wife rather I should divorce her and go for another wife. My qualities are I work and earn like about 700k net a month. I give feeding allowance and personal total of 100k a month while I invest the rest on a project which she is aware of. I don't drink or smoke I don't keep late night and I am the best friend to her and my kids. Honestly having talk to her for over 5yrs on this issues of love making and she refused to change, then I have decided to yield to my dad advice and ask her to leave...she is not aware of this plan, but trust me it will hit her. I allow her to do little job to have her own finance is not as if she contribute anything in the house, but she is claiming stubborn, I love her so much, it will hurt me to cheat on her, something I have not done since I got married to her. I plan moving to a new place in February, and she doesn't fit into my plans. My decision between now and December is 1 Avoid asking her for lobe making 2 Continue taking care of her so she won't suspect anything 3 when she comes close I avoid her. 4 February I issues divorce papers and give her like 1m to go get her life back Is there anything more I can do for her? Advice me pls... [/quote Could you vouch for her in terms of faithfulness just like yourself ? Did you make any attempt to monitor her activities, like some follow-up on her or so? There is definitely no need to continue with her if she sees someone else. If you are certain that she doesn't need see someone else, then you need to give her more time. In the event that she doesn't change, you can let her know your intentions , there is no need taking her by storm when you are sure she is a faithful wife. |
JasmineJay5683:Very obvious, that's what happens when a Square peg occupies a Square hole. Dave, as a civil engineer doesn't need to be advised or informed in this situation, he understands what's obtainable. |
mdsne:Nigerian police , haba. You can understand why they are still anachronistic as regards their Modus operandi . A little research could have helped. |
Baba should have just dropped his O'level cert and save us the Chicago hassles. Only the gullible can be deceived by Reno, there is nothing wrong with Obi tendering WAEC cert since it's the minimum qualification for the position. |
dre11:That's a country that spent billions of USD to build refineries. A certain Presidential candidate boasted that he would fix the plants in three months. For the fact that not even one of the plants was fixed in 8years tells a lot not understood in this clime. Apart from neocolonialism , the selfishness and greed of the Nigerian politicians will lead us to nowhere. Take it or leave it, this country will remain the same until the masses decide to stand together and elect candidates beyond ethnic, religious and other parochial sentimental lines ., of course we know that won't happen anytime soon. |
ECOWAS shouldn't just waste their time, warplanes or not, it's going to be more of. Conventional war and trust me , it doesn't end easily. |
Most women hardly know a good thing. We all always think it's greener on the other side. |
Why not try it on the legs. |
I can't be deceived, Ye has been doing time. You need a third eye to see that. |
What difference does it make , let them have their piece of the pie. The so called democratic government is not better. |
Though I want a democratic government, but if all the bloody civilians do is loot the treasury, then I wouldn't care if the military takes over , even if they end up doing same thing. |
Blaxie:For real, do you just accept anything thrown at you. It will be all messed up in future. |
Chenu60:How do I just doubt the instinct, he could show all the loyalty in the world but trust me, woe betide him if he actually forged the cert.. |
That name reminds me of the Greek mythology, Helen of troy and all that . |
eyesoflagos:That's naija for you , you hold somebody today because of areas they failed to tighten up, tomorrow it'll be your turn . Nobody is infallible and power is transient. |
Procashtips:Forget Hiroshima , Nagasaki and that little boy stuff. Any nation looking to use nukes should just tell its Citizens that they want to bring the world to an end. |
Holiness2100:Nobody can use nukes in this world. No matter how many you think you have and how powerful they are. |
Freedom2023:Lol, the word of God actually prevailed but you didn't know. Did you know that the bible admonished us to confess to one another . If you are into Christianity, take a look at James 5:16 and John 20:23 |
Diligent1:I would have reserved my comments, but to set the record straight, I never said Obi won the election . However, for any reason you feel the election was anywhere near credible after spending 300-400billion then I shouldn't be here with you. |
Lol, doesn't make any sense when the biggest scammer and fraudster in the person of Mahmood Yakubu is walking freely. We are watching. |
obembet:The boy is good. Quote me anyday. He's lyrically ahead of most artistes in the industry. |
I made a huge mistake that almost cost me my job. This is when I didn't understand the principles of Effective Communication. Want to learn from my mistakes? Keep reading. Five years ago, while working remotely at Andela, I learned a valuable lesson about the power of communication. Over-communication is key for success. I received a Slack message from a product manager on a Friday, asking me to check out a bug reported by an important customer. Naively assuming I would fix it on Monday, I went off to enjoy my weekend, unaware of the consequences that awaited me. When I returned on Monday, the product manager singled me out during the morning call. He accused me of not caring about customers, of ignoring him on Slack, and failing to provide feedback. The weight of my mistake hit me hard, and I realised that a simple act of over communication could have saved me from this ordeal. From that point on, over communication became one of my personal values. Here's how I put it into practice: 1️⃣ Double ask every doubt: Whenever I receive a task or instruction, I ask for clarification on the deadline, the goal, and the scope. I don't assume anything. I listen attentively, confirm my understanding, and express gratitude for the explanation. Being a great communicator requires active listening and comprehension. 2️⃣ Provide regular updates: Even when not required, I make it a habit to give regular updates on my progress. Whether it's a freelance project or working with a team, people appreciate being in the loop. I send emails, share progress reports, and ensure transparency. This level of accountability and responsiveness appreciated in the workplace. 3️⃣ Show gratitude and kindness: A culture of gratitude and kindness goes a long way in building positive relationships. I make it a point to express gratitude to my colleagues, especially when they go above and beyond to support me. A simple "thank you" in a daily call, or a shoutout on Slack, acknowledging and appreciating others can foster a supportive work environment. By doing these, I have seen the positive impact they have on my work relationships and overall success. People notice when you go the extra mile to communicate, and it helps build trust and collaboration.[/quot Nice one. It had been a shortcoming. |
slawomir:Mediocrity with respect to the infrastructure currently seen or the quality of education unseen. Make we dey calm down 👎 Even if you have to build too many structures, the projected number of students should be a guide. Most of the so called big public schools we graduated from lack infrastructures, with students everywhere . |
iwaeda:Nigeria is not worth fighting for or defending. Trust me , you end up dieing for stupid politicians who do nothing but loot the treasury. |

Uselessboy78:Always check if you can endure the loss of the money you want to bet. Once you set out to bet consider the money as one which is lost already. There is a lot to know before putting up a huge bet. Finally, always remember that you are not chasing the betting company's money, you are at war with your fellow bettors. So it's just survival of the fittest. The bet organization is just a stakeholders in there. |
Hurbashola:You ever wondered why Cobams did "One hit song" . Dude dropped Calm down and the rest is history. |
