Politics / Imo State Has No Cattle Colonies, Okorocha Claims by oluemmakay(m): 8:32am On Feb 12, 2018 |
- Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha said it is wrong to link a particular tribe to a crime - The governor said the linking of Fulani to killer herdsmen is uncalled for and unnecessary - He also debunked the rumour that Imo state has a cattle colony Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha said it is wrong to classify Fulani herders as killers herdsmen. The governor said a linking a particular tribe to a crime is wrong and a form of bigotry. He said herdsmen who killed should be labeled as criminals and not linked to the Fulani tribe. Okorocha made this statement while receiving the National Leaders of the Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim led by its Supreme Head, the Prelate His Eminence Solomon Alao, at the Government House Owerri at the weekend, Daily Trust reports. Okorocha said: “We cannot be calling Igbos kidnappers or 419ers or Niger Delta people terrorists or militants or Hausa people Boko Harams or Fulani people killer herdsmen because of the activities of few criminals from their areas. That is the issue. A criminal is a criminal irrespective of tribe or religion. We cannot allow certain sentiments to becloud our sense of reasoning." He also debunked insinuations that Imo state has built cattle colonies, saying that what the state has is a cattle market located at Lokpanta in Okigwe. NAIJ.com previously reported that the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has called on Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria to fish out the killers herdsmen among them. The Emir also lamented that all Fulani herdsmen are being classified as criminals which he claimed shouldn't be so. Emir Sanusi urged Nigerians to avoid ethnic profiling whenever a crime was committed, noting that “criminals have no tribal marks.” https://www.naija.ng/1151478-imo-state-cattle-colonies-okorocha-claims.html |

Politics / Lagos Safety Corps Owes Staff Eight Months Salary – Lawyer by oluemmakay(m): 12:31pm On Dec 20, 2017 |
A lawyer, S.O. AbdulAziz, has raised the alarm over the failure of a Lagos State Government agency, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, today some of its staff in the last eight months. Those allegedly affected by the non-payment of salaries, were recruited and commenced training on April 29, 2017. Since then, the Batches C and D staff have not been paid. AbdulAziz, the National President of the Patriotic Youth Organization of Nigeria, told The Eagle Online that he has written to the LNSC on this development with no action taken so far. He said this “has inflicted serious pains on them as some of them now beg to eat. “I have taken it upon myself to write to the Lagos State Government, appealing to them to look into the pathetic state of the officers”. There was no immediate reaction from the LSNC on this development. https://theeagleonline.com.ng/lagos-safety-corps-owes-staff-eight-months-salary-lawyer/ 1 Like 1 Share

Npower I was at the MTN Office Adeola Odeku yesterday and I was denied access to my device again due to this ID issue? Despite the fact that it was stated on the support portal that the issue have been resolved, but it hasn't. I visited a nearby cafe to re-upload but it's still not working. The MTN agent told me that they have been told not to release the device if the ID is not showing on their portal. One of the Npower handler comment on Facebook yesterday that we having this same issue can go to the Collection Centre with a print out of our profile page with our picture but I put a call through to the person in charge at the MTN Office and she denied such development...Kindly help to rectify this confusion please... |
