you are now shifting the goalposts. I'm not initiating anything , we have since established that you guys are the " Giants" the big brothers" and other countries are " common Ghana" etc .

AKA is known in Nigeria dispute it all you want. He's also entitled to his opinions, I'm not related or his friend so it's better you ask him. As for what he said, that's highly laughable

I
You see this issue of complex is mainly found with Ghanaians, South Africans and lately Kenyans.
They see how our music, movies, comedies naturally dominate their airwaves without a single effort from Nigerians in promoting our works abroad. Most of their shows are dominated by Nigerian artistes.
Go to YouTube and read comments under our entertainment videos, they're mostly from foreigners from all over the world including South Africans.
Every African I meet outside Nigeria likes to talk about our different celebrities the moment they realise I'm Nigerian.

The problem with some Ghanaians, South Africans and Kenyans is that they have a false sense of entitlement and think they should be equal partners. That's why they get jealous and start making demands online for "equal opportunities", while Nigerians are busy working hard and grinding in the studio to make good contents that'll make them successful.

As for titles, I have no interest in them.

forget it. We are South Africans always feel lucky to be South Africans. We look at Nigeria and we feel no envy at all, on the contrary we are lucky not to experience your conditions. Why do you always think people are envious of you? Why do you think you're so special?
The fact that you spend so much time on Nairaland trying to initiate superiority debates of South Africa over Nigeria is enough evidence of your inferiority complex.
Go and ask your superstar AKA who is largely unknown in Nigeria... why "Nigerians are always better than South Africans in everything".

Hopefully we'll fix all our critical infrastructure and then your inferiority complex will quadruple.

Remove all the cashiers from the toll gates and make all pay points automated (it charges you as you drive through) and watch how the Lekki axis traffic drastically reduces.
Nigeria is too cash based. I haven't used an ATM in years (apart from when I pay offering in Nigerian church).

IronGalaxy:
of course, whenever a Nigerian dies he's killed by SOuth Africans right? you conveniently miss the point that your people are troublesome whenever you find yourselves whether is Malaysia, India etc deep down you know your people are a nuisance and every country is complaining even your own president called you criminals . if we really killed Nigerians continuously as you say, why aren't we killing Mozambicans for example daily and in greater numbers since there are more Mozambicans than Nigerians in SA. your people either kill each other or by the cops and rarely by SOuth Africans. if they were really hunted by deer why aren't they going back to Nigeria?

if you really used your brain you'll easily realise the whole thing is absurd. me as a South African bumps on to a Nigerian on the street and what do i do? i draw a gun and kill him? how does it work?

oh the usual 'if the white man wasn't here" theory. if we are killing passers by now what does the presence of the white man do then?
If Nigerians commit crime in your country, subject them to the law and let them be prosecuted accordingly in court. This is what normal countries do.
Why do you think the Xenophobic tag is unique to SA? Because the barbaric citizens and the police are the law who kill fellow blacks for alleged crimes.

What does the White man do? Develop the country and its industries you brag about online.

how can I leave you, while it's you who's always in our faces yapping " Xenophobia this, Xenophobia that"? It's annoying because you're out there and you don't even know the reality of how South Africa is like.

You may accommodate other Africans but not quite like SA, it becomes a problem since it stretches our already burdened resources

Yes, it's a game, so please leave your favourite pastime "Xenophobia" alone
It's not a favourite pastime for nothing especially as it's happening continuously. Some Nigerians were killed in SA this week, last week, last month, etc. by both foolish civilians and SA police who are paid to protect lives.
If you don't want "foreigners" in your country, you people should protest to your government/parliament to amend your visa processes, instead of killing other Africans in your country.
Xenophobic creatures.

BTW, I'm sure deep down you can imagine how terrible a country SA will be if there were no whites, by simply looking at how the black South Africans rob and sometimes kill passers-by, snatch cars, loot shops and commit all sorts of crimes in Johannesburg and other cities.
Black South Africa alone would have been a worse country than D. R. Congo

AutoReportNG:
You need to understand the Bariga jetty which was commissioned recently by Mr. Ambode is yet to start operation, the Marina jetty is not too cool I guess thats why they shifted to VI due to proximity. So far, they seem to have pact with Lagos State Government and so they can't go outside the contract signed.

Until LASG opens Ikorodu, Epe and Bariga, they can't expand just like that

At the bolden part... They will traverse between Lekki, Ikoyi and VI... I guess they are studying the development and will do the needful later on
From the timetable, it looks like public transport. However, from the routes, it looks like a boat cruise along Five Cowries Creek.
I don't see why workers need boats to and from Lekki, Ikoyi and VI. There are operational jetties at CMS, Ikorodu, Ajah, Apapa, Mile 2, etc.
Major routes for real public transport that will convey workers should be routes like Ikorodu-Lekki-CMS, Ajah-Lekk-VI, CMS-Lekki, Mile 2-Apapa-CMS, etc.

IBB through his IMF-induced Structural Adjustment Programme initiated the death of the Nigerian naira.
Abacha added his own to it and afterwards, successive PDP governments gave the naira 1000% loss of value from about N20/$ they met it to N200/$.
Sharp decline in oil prices from 2014 led us to another 80% decline in value to the current N360/$.

IBB, Abacha and PDP are the worst things to ever happen to Nigeria.

Good, you know about them MOUs, however in this argument, I will say you are assuming cos you used the word *IF*,I'm sure them people already did their study and know what they got into with eyes open. now regards seaport controlling, don't forget Onne seaport is private .this does not mean duties and taxes are not paid, I import from China via Onne, so your assumption China will import FOC is flawed.
Read my comment again, this time slowly. Don't rush to reply for argument sakes.
If only applies to Mombasa port, the others are already being taken over. And major foreign media are reporting that Kenya will likely default on that loan.

China now owns those ports and collects duties to recover the debts.

No worries re insult
Now check this, we already have such agreements as free trade as in ECOWAS, the east Africans do as well. This has been in place in ages hence ECOWAS.So let us reason here, you say China was going to ship its goods to a certain African Country lets say Somalia as it's in the Indian Ocean close to Asia, what do you think is the incentive Somalia would give China that would make them chose Somalia over Nigeria? cos last I checked China won't be part of this deal signed by African nations.
China is very smart.
They give countries loans with opaque conditions of taking over their major access points.
China is taking over Djibouti seaport, Zambian airport and State media. Mombasa seaport is next if the Kenyan govt defaults in paying the loan used to build the Mombasa-Nairobi standard gauge rail line.
With these, China will import into Africa free of charge and use the AfcFTA to reach the rest of Africa by rail. Don't forget that the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa which was gifted by China is suspected to be a spy means for China on African leaders during their meetings.
China is behind this AfcFTA but African leaders are to dumb to understand anything.
Kudos to PMB on this one.

I knew they would say that, but it was never my intention. I didn't even know he was abroad from his posts. He types very "Nigerian". Most advices are saying almost same thing, move on. I think I will start working towards that.
I think you are simply fond of him due to constant communication. It happens to everyone. If you withdraw communication, the fondness will fade away gradually.

I don't know about you but for me, I will definitely be able to extract his level of interest based on how things are going, by asking specific questions.
By now, you should have a clue about why he's less interested. Confront those issues by asking direct questions. You shouldn't be left guessing about what the issues are when you are not dating yourself.
My guess will be...he’s probably weighing his options amidst other alternatives instead of an intercontinental relationship that probably cannot be funded to bring it closer. If he tries to come back closer to keep his option open with you, still reciprocate less until you see verifiable seriousness from him.

BTW, I have once left a perfect relationship before and the earth didn't stop rotating.

Guys I read somewhere that after 3 years you get your PR. So basically your 2 year masters counts in the 3 years and also the 1 year job search visa counts as well.

So after that 3 years (Study visa + Job seeker visa) you get your PR? Is that correct?

Also, How long after PR can one get citizenship?

Thank you
3 years of active professional work qualifies you for PR. Studying or job seeker don't count.

7 years in total for citizenship, including studying, working, etc.

Hi All,
I am helping out a family member who is going to study in Norway. She has already been granted admission for an MSc programme and now require to transfer the living costs into the student bank account.

My questions are:
1. Once transferred, is the money readily accessible when she gets to Norway?
2. Can she decide to transfer it into another account or take out as much as she wants etc?
3. or even pay it back if part of it was a loan?
Or do restrictions on accessing the money apply.

Answers from anyone that has lived in Norway and has been through this process are welcome.
Thanks in advance for the help.
She'll get the money transferred back to her account around September ending, depending on how fast she completes her police registration and opening of bank account.

They will take house rents for August and September.
Afterwards she can do whatever she wants with the full balance. No restrictions whatsoever on how you use your money.

Northern Nigeria has always had a large army of illiteracy-induced criminals waiting to be unleashed to the general public. Sometimes I feel like we have two different Nigeria. embarassed

When a people don't prioritise proper education that can fetch their young masses gainful employment or business skills, criminality and extremism are the end results.

It's not about their political leaders alone. The north has a lack of education problem that originates from their culture and religion. They have to relax on religion/sharia a bit.

Sometimes I cannot help but continue to picture my future country (Norway's) future. They are one of the biggest oil and lng exporters in Europe and they are the highest buyers of electric cars as well, infact they want to be purely electric. Yes they have a large Sovereign wealth fund (Raw cash in savings used to invest in other businesses in other parts of the world like tech, real estate etc to generate revenue for the country) and all that and then they aren't so big in manufacturing anything (based on what i see online). Well they intend to produce oil for the next 50+ years till most cars in the world become electric and oil and gas is irrelevant, but although lng will still be relevant for maybe the next 100 years. So after that whats next for norway?. Whats the next big thing for them or what are they currently setting their eyes on? Please those in the country what are you seeing on ground, enlighten some of us. Let's talk of real life outside admission and masters.
For the first time, electric cars in 2019 have outsold petrol cars in Norway due to govt incentives for electric car owners.

Shipping & ship building and the fishing industries are also very big industries in Norway. Norway makes millions of dollars yearly exporting dried stockfish alone to Nigeria and other African countries. A lot of procesed foods we eat are also locally produced in Norway.

Regarding post oil era, the big local E & Ps such as Statoil are rebranding as energy companies, not just oil companies. Statoil is now Equinor with so much new investments in Wind Energy.

BTW, how did your US visa interview end up?

I'm afraid for my team tonight. Too many injuries and suspension.
No Son or Kane to shoot, no Winks and Sissoko(still uncertain) to boss the midfield. Dele is still handicapped. Only our back line is effective going into this UCL semis cry

Hopefully we keep a clean sheet and manage to score tonight. And score more goals when Son returns in the 2nd leg. We should make the final eventually I believe. #COYS

I made a comment a few weeks ago about the quality of political candidates Bayelsa produces and people said my comment was a bit condescending so I had to modify.

Why am I not surprised? Leaders are simply reflections of their societies.
My former colleagues from Bayelsa all lavish their salaries on Ogogoro and are broke again long before the month ends. No plans, no savings, no investments. cheesy

For Bayelsa, I'm always neutral in their guber elections because the state always produces majorly yeye candidates.
I can't even think of any quality leader that has ever come out of Bayelsa. So bad that Buhari had to end up with Heineken Lopobiri as Minister since each state must get a slot.

Same goes to the other projects that will be commissioned tomorrow
That's Ambode for you. So petty in thinking that for him, his tenure must witness the commissioning of his flamboyant incomplete projects.
The guy is trying hard to be noticed by Buhari so he can get Ministerial appointment. That's why he abandoned Sanwoolu's campaign and was busy following PMB around during the presidential election campaigns like fly following shit.

The Ikorodu BRT road was almost completed by Fashola in 2015 but as govt is a continuum, Ambode was the one who commissioned it a few weeks after his inauguration.
But for Ambode, he must commission his incomplete projects. cheesy

is there a way you can confirm the prices of those flats in The Residence beside Golden Tulip Hotel in the same compound as shoprite iN FESTAC? I have a boss who stays there and he told me pays almost 14m a year for his flat. but @wildchild and @Rubbiish do not believe me.

so tell me; which is more expensive, rent in Lagos or Abuja?
Yes, it's very possible. I've been there several times.
Those Golden Tulip apartments are furnished like Hotel or abroad standards. Mainly Oyinbo people reside there.
To use their swimming pool as a non-resident cost me 3k a day about 10yrs ago. 3k was a lot as at the time.
If Golden Tulip was on the island, rents will be at least quadruple.
