PoliticsRe: Strong Momentum & Continuous Growth In Economy Further Show Buhari Is Working by olujastro:
Unfortunately, the average Nigerian doesn't understand those figures up there. He just wants free-flowing money after oil is sold so that he can say the economy is good.
That's why some educated illiterates prefer corruption era to infrastructure and an all-inclusive economic growth. angry

For sane minds, those figures mean that our economy is slowly but gradually moving away from oil unto a more solid foundation - agriculture, manufacturing, construction, services, etc.
Making it less likely for Nigeria to become another Venezuela.

But if PDP returns, they will definitely reverse the gains that have been made so far and create a big mess for others to clear.
Same way Fayose took Ekiti 4yrs backwards and Fayemi is trying to clear the mess now.

Veetee:
To tell you the honest truth , I have been a supporter of Atiku until Sunday when my mum called and asked who i was voting for. Without hesitation i told her my votes goes for Atiku. Her response was with anger. My dad retired from Nitel and has not been paid until Buhari came in. For 4 months now his pension has been paid. Oh well, I'm just still thinking.
This isn't surprising at all as the average Nigerian electorate is very uninformed and sentimental.

You're even considering the same person and party that dished out injustice to your own father and caused him and your family to suffer?

Continue thinking until PDP and Atiku loot your future away. Those who know know that PDP's trademark is to share what belongs to the ordinary man among themselves.

Buhari may be not be the best, but at least he isn't after riches and won't steal our money.
Vote wisely
PoliticsRe: Rivers APC: Supreme Court Strikes Out Three Other Pending Appeals by olujastro:
If you ask me, the courts banning political parties from fielding candidates in our elections will hurt our democracy in the long run. Even though Amaechi and Magnus Abe share huge blames.
At worst, the courts should sternly warn the defaulters and give them the chance to conduct another primary. I don't subscribe to depriving people from being voted for, which is a Constitutional right.

Going forward, all Party A has to do is to find ways to create factional crisis in Party B and wait for the courts to ban them from contesting.
Instead of telling Nigerians why they should elect you ahead of your main rivals.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Constructed Road To Ex-president Jonathan’s Community – Sylva by olujastro:
I just would never understand the reasoning of Nigerian electorates, especially in the Eastern axis of Nigeria.
Jonathan as president built 8 mansions to retire to in Otuoke but didn't build their road. Yet they gave him 97% of their votes in return huh. Same road Buhari is building now, rather he's the one being hated the more there huh

Atiku ignored the road passing through his hometown as VP while Buhari is the one building it now.
Let's see what happens to the votes from Adamawa on Saturday.

Omeokachie:
So?

Did he use his father's inheritance to do it?
He didn't use his money to build it, but you're shamelessly hailing those who abandoned their responsibilities and their people so they can fill up their pockets instead huh
PoliticsRe: APC Vows To Punish Amosun After Elections by olujastro: 3:04pm On Feb 12, 2019
It will be more surprising if they don't punish Amosun for yesterday's embarrassment. After the presidential election, Amosun will know what's up. There's a limit to everything.

Anti-party activity is bad enough, then Amosun chased away APC supporters from an APC presidential rally, pulled down the billboards of the APC guber candidate and flooded the venue with his APM supporters which ultimately led to huge embarrassment of the president, VP and party leaders.
Who does that? Not even Mr Iberiberism Rochas did that during Imo rally.
PoliticsRe: Zamfara Stalemate Will Be Resolved Before Elections – Buhari by olujastro:
I think INEC isn't being fair to the APC on Zamfara.
The ruling from the state high court was as clear as daylight that the APC held primaries and must be included on the ballot.
While the FCT court was saying INEC has a right to bar the party from contesting at least from what all media reported.

Instead of INEC to appeal the very clear Zamfara high court order or comply, It's choosing which court order to obey or not.
This is very frustrating for the governor hence his outburst.

For the PDP, democracy is working now so they won't be crying to their colonial masters like cry babies.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Will Win 2019 Presidential Election - Fola Willie Ojo by olujastro:
I noticed that those who are voting for Buhari and APC have been very silent on social media due to insults flying around from intolerant Ipobs who litter the place. They just like pro - Buhari posts and move on without commenting.

Some days ago, Omojuwa asked people on Twitter the names of the candidates they were voting for at all levels just to test people's knowledge of their Senators and Reps to be. Imagine my surprise!

Almost 75% who responded are voting for Buhari and APC all the way. cheesy

Politics is a game of numbers; not anger. (Pls remind Ipobs)
It is about mathematics, not mouthedness. The mathematics of the coming elections as it stands today is clearly in favour of Buhari.
It is interesting to note that top four states with the highest number of voters are all comfortable Buhari strongholds. They are Lagos- six million voters; Kano, over five million; Kaduna, almost four million; Katsina, over three million voters.

PoliticsRe: Pictures As APC Campaigns In Oruk Anam LG, Akwa Ibom State by olujastro: 8:09pm On Feb 08, 2019
Nsima Ekere is very popular.
Akpabio bringing in Ikot Ekpene votes.
APC has always been more popular in Uyo than PDP.
The chief riggers are now in the APC. Plus they have control over the unprofessional Nigerian police.
And many AkwaIbomites are saying they will vote for APC for governorship especially.

Something tells me Akpabio will a pull a fast one on Udom and APC will clinch the governorship seat in AkwaIbom.
PoliticsRe: Magnus Abe Celebrating Supreme Court Judgement (Photos) by olujastro: 4:50pm On Feb 08, 2019
Fear Nigerian politicians sha.
Same Magnus Abe was on Channels TV yesterday and vigorously explaining how he has been trying to resolve the internal crisis within the APC.
He also said he's very open to further dialogue with the Amaechi faction.
Now Magnus is celebrating his party's downfall cheesy
PoliticsRe: Atiku Abubakar Arrived Benue For PDP Presidential Rally. See How He Was Welcomed by olujastro: 3:27pm On Feb 08, 2019
Ibegtodiffer:
My brother, Nigeria is not broke, and Nigerians are not lazy. Disregard that psychological hoodwinking. Without selling a Barrell of oil, Monies made from FIRS and by Customs is more than our national budget. What that means is that proceeds of crude oil sale is an extra cash. I'll rather not go into details. While supporting them, be aware of the truth.
I never said Nigeria is broke or Nigerians are lazy. A lot of people simply relied on national cake to live well in Nigeria.

Secondly, oil money isn't extra cash for Nigeria. You probably just relied on simple addition, not knowing economics is beyond that. Plus your claim isn't true.
FIRS revenue only went very high recently under Fowler and Adeosun's tax drive. In 2018, FIRS & Customs realised N5.3 and N1tr respectively while the budget was N8.3tr. That's a deficit of N2tr already. Meanwhile Nigeria's debt is $73b and debt must be serviced yearly. Foreign reserves and Sovereign Wealth Funds also swallow some of our earned oil dollars.
I could go on and on but I'm sure you learned something from this.
PoliticsRe: Atiku Abubakar Arrived Benue For PDP Presidential Rally. See How He Was Welcomed by olujastro: 2:52pm On Feb 08, 2019
Ibegtodiffer:
You don't understand. Absence of corruption should translate to lesser hunger. But reverse is the case. The difference now is that the national cake is stolen, but not shared.
Past looting and subsequent crash in oil price with little or no savings led to recession which led to hunger.

As for those who are still hungry, they should go and look for money the right way. No more free money to share.

A lot of Nigerians are engaged all over the country where construction projects are being built. That's a far better way to spend govt funds than sharing the national cake from the top with no development to show for it.
PoliticsRe: Sanwo-olu Is The Best For Lagos - Babatunde Raji Fashola by olujastro:
EdidemOluomo:
Just as Ambo was the best then..
Stupid politicians
Ambode was never the best for Lagos. Fashola actually interviewed Ambode alongside others before the APC primaries and decided to support Obafemi Hamzat or Supo Sashore as governor. Fashola according to inner caucus said Ambode wasn't smart enough to rule Lagos.

However, he couldn't prevail over Tinubu's influence on the primaries so Ambo won. Fashola as a party man has to campaign for whoever had become the APC candidate in Lagos.
PoliticsRe: Sanwo-olu Is The Best For Lagos - Babatunde Raji Fashola by olujastro: 1:50pm On Feb 08, 2019
This I can attest to as SanwoOlu was the brain behind many of the stellar achievements in the Fashola era of Lagos.

SanwoOlu, Hamzat, Opeifa and Ben Akabueze were very instrumental to Fashola's success as governor.

The Otoge movement must be giving Saraki daily nightmares in Kwara. grin

Anyways, February 16 no far again.
Without rigging, Buhari will sweep NW and NE except Taraba; win Niger, Kogi and Kwara in the NC; win in the SW; and do very well in Imo, Edo and AkwaIbom. Take that to any bank.

TravelRe: Reactions As Trailers Disappear On Lagos Roads Ahead Of Buhari’s Visit (photos by olujastro:
What a shame of a nation though! Requiring Mr President's visit to take action.
This tanker menace on Lagos roads is what the Lagos-Ibadan rail will take care of eventually. Goods move by railway globally except in corruption-ridden countries like Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Nigerians need to learn that proceeds of corruption causing money to circulate and trickle down to the masses doesn't mean the economy is flourishing.
It simply means that we've eaten our future now.

This is what the PDP stands for and their 16yrs of sharing the national cake has really messed up the psychology of Nigerians as to how an economy actually functions.

Your future relies on an industrialised economy outside oil, built on critical national infrastructure re.

Be wise and vote wisely.

And when the party cannot present à particular candidate don't you think they should put their own house in order first
The two factions of the APC presented candidates.
However, the court is saying that the premises on which the candidates emerged were flawed based on previous court order and non-compliance for Tonye Cole and Magnus Abe respectively.
PoliticsRe: Wonder Of Lagos As Tankers, Trailers Suddenly Disappear On Eko Bridge by olujastro:
I think it has to do with the President's visit to Lagos on Saturday. He'll be using Western avenue to Teslim Balogun stadium and connecting bridges to Lagos Island.
What a shame of a nation though!

PoliticsRe: Rivers governorship: Supreme Court upholds judgement nullifying APC primaries by olujastro: 12:03pm On Feb 08, 2019
The judiciary is part of democracy no doubt, but it makes absolutely no sense if the right to be voted for by the people is usurped by the judiciary.

The best the judiciary should be able to do is determine the rightful candidate of a party. Excluding any party from elections is totally anti democratic.

PoliticsRe: Fact Check: Who Started The Lagos - Ibadan Railway Project? by olujastro:
Forget long story. I watched the ground breaking ceremony by Osinbajo live on TV sometime in March 2017.
This govt started this project and paid the 15% counterpart funding. They have also paid for the trains.

But if your source is Peter Obi or Kola Ologbodinyan or Vanguard newspaper, then PDP started it and even paid for the project 100%. After all the same Vanguard carried fake headlines of $1 = 1N wey Baba no promise. cheesy
Also GEJ commissioned the 2nd Niger Bridge, however on paper. Ask them to show you the bridge and they'll show you pictures of Loko - Oweto Bridge. grin

Anyways, I and my 39 family members are going to the #NextLevel of Infrastructural development in Nigeria.

PDP ought to be banned and sent to a country like Afghanistan where they can compete on corruption and treasury looting.

PoliticsRe: Buhari To Win 2019 Presidential Election ,With At Least 52% -Financial Digest by olujastro:
This is the closest to what to expect from results next week.
However the flaws are:
South East: Ipob members boycotting the elections means lower turnout in the SE.
Voters turnout in the SE will be around 40% or less. And I expect to see APC get around 15% while PDP gets 80%, others including APGA...5%.

South South: APC will do far better than 19%. APC will get at least 30% here.
No GEJ on the ballot so APC might win Edo.
Akpabio is on the ballot on the same day, while Uyo has always been an APC stronghold. APC should get at least 40% in AKS.
Omo-Agege is on the ballot in Delta Central, Udughan is on the ballot in Delta South, both on the same day. APC should get at least 30% in Delta.
If Rivers court cases is finally sorted out, the current senators will be on the ballot apart from Magnus Abe. Plus, Rivers elections are always about federal might and control of security. Amaechi will likely repay Wike and APC should get 50% or more.

North East: Atiku will lose Adamawa. At best he'll get 45%.

Extra: Nasarawa, Plateau....too close to call.

Lagos has cosmopolitan voters so Others - Sowore, Muoghalu and Durotoye should score 15% put together while APC gets 45% and PDP 40%.
Apart from Lagos; Sowore, Muoghalu and Durotoye will get Jamb scores in the remaining 35 states.
BusinessRe: Coca-cola Finally Acquires Chi Ltd by olujastro:
I was very unhappy when I read about this acquisition some years ago.
Then, I thought Chi was a fully owned Nigerian brand and was looking forward to seeing Nigerian companies becoming the next Nestlés, Unilevers, etc.

Bottom line for consumers is, no more fruit juice competition in Nigeria going forward. So expect anyhow increases in prices from Coca-Cola for flimsy reasons.
Christianity EtcRe: Apostle Suleman: 'Don't Come To Church With Phones, IPad To Read Bible' by olujastro: 7:44am On Feb 03, 2019
Nigerian pastors and their 'holier than thou' attitude.
My pastor uses Ipad to teach during sermon but doesn't want me to use my phone when reading bible.
My pastor will always delay closing time by 30 mins - 1hr and still criticise members for being conscious of time when in the house of God cheesy
The only reason I'm against use of phone in church is distraction from messaging apps. Otherwise, no difference between print and electronic bibles to me.

saintandsinnerz:
You maybe right in your analysis but the only flaw in your projection maybe your thinking that Buhari will have a landslide in the north. Though I believe he will win in the NW but I'm not so sure he will win in the NE. This is because the NE have not produced the Nigerian president in the history of Nigeria (not so sure),hence they may see this time as their best opportunity. Also, moreover, the dynamics that made Buhari to win convincingly in 2015 is not playing out this time. The north are wise politically, they know Atiku will give them the opportunity to be in power for a longer period than Buhari will do. Some of them I've interacted with are of this view. I repeat again, the zones that will be crucial in this election is the SE and SS because they normally vote in block and if Buhari fails to score a good number of votes there, forget it, he will lose the election.
The above bolded are another sets of mythical analysis flying around which do not hold water. The masses there don't even recognise nomenclatures like NE and NW. It's the same people with the same culture and religion.
Buhari will convincingly win Borno, Yobe, Bauchi and Gombe in the NE. He'll narrowly win Adamawa and only lose Taraba. Take that to the bank.
The second one is funnier because the north hasn't been voting for only Northern candidates. PMB is the only person that enjoys such privilege of sweeping northern votes for reasons mentioned earlier.

saintandsinnerz:
Assuming that everybody there will vote for Buhari. You know that's impossible. Seriously, if you must be sincere, this election will be very difficult to predict because of alot of factors. The problem is that people think that the north will be a landslide for Buhari, but that may not be the case. Atiku will put a strong showing in the north as a result of him being a Northerner. Remember Atiku also has a lot of money and you know the influence of money in Nigerian politics. Voting buying will be too much in this election. The SW doesn't always vote in block like the SE. The vote of SW is always divided, though Buhari may win there slightly. Check the 2105 results you will see what I'm saying. Despite the anti GEJ sentiment in the SW prior to the 2015 election, he actually put in a strong showing. Where APC may have problem is in the SE and SS, especially the SE. If they vote massively for the PDP the way they did in 2015, forget it Atiku may likely win the election. Seriously there is something about Atiku and Saraki that is strange, these guys are sure they will win the election and the dynamics favour them. Don't rule them out.
You don't expect Saraki or Atiku to appear like they expect to lose. I believe their hidden routes back to power have been and are still being uncovered.

GEJ had incumbency factor.
Look at the numbers from INEC and you'll see why a Buhari victory is almost inevitable. The NW has over 20 million registered voters while the SE and SS combined have 22 million. These 3 zones will cancel out as both candidates will get at least 70% in their strongest holds.
Aboki doesn't make noise on social media. PMB is the only politician they trust that he isn't after enriching himself with public funds. No other northern politician enjoys such respect. You cannot buy Aboki's electoral conscience as it happens down south.
So those saying Atiku will divide the votes in the north simply because he's a Northerner are just reducing their much anticipated wailings. I can bet you that Atiku will lose his own Adamawa state.

The NE is there for PMB where he should get at least 60-70%.And around 50-55% victory in the SW and NC.

I expect a wider margin of victory for PMB than in 2015.

In other words, once you appear not to have enriched yourself with public funds, you become a good leader. What of the ideas of what to do with the leadership position itself? Anyway, I forgot that Buhari's supporters are as unambitious as he is. People that have settled for subhuman living in their lifetime.
I have never said so.
In an ideal world, leadership has to do with capacity which Buhari might not have at the moment due to age and pace. But Nigeria is far from an ideal world.

The safety of the national treasury is paramount in Nigeria.
Once the head(PMB) isn't about looting the treasury, the younger ones (ministers) can easily implement the development programmes since the funds are there.

But the once head is about pilfering the treasury as we witnessed the bleeding of public purse under PDP where individuals were getting billions for doing nothing, we can't even talk about development thereafter.
PoliticsRe: Kano Rally: PDP Accuses APC Of Smuggling, Demands Investigation by olujastro:
Forget crowd in rally sef. Aboki doesn't make noise on social media.
I know several Kano people who are travelling back to Kano and to the north in general few days to the election just to vote for Sai Baba.
For them, PMB is the only politician they can trust that he isn't after enriching himself with public funds. No other northern politician enjoys such respect.
So those saying Atiku will divide the votes in the north simply because he's a Northerner are just trying to reduce their much anticipated sifia pains.

APC to PDP be like..... If you South East us, we will Kano you.
