With all the report, no one mentioned his name and phone number on the ehailing app, except for the old school mate that could I'd his face that disclosed his name and phone number.
I think the victim should mention his name on the app and the phone number, so potential riders don't fall victim too

You want to move the traffic at Ikeja to the crazy traffic at abule egba ile epo that is already traffic prone with bad roads and flood issues, I don't think this is a wise decision.
Having a tech base market close to a farmers market isn't cool, trucks/trailers will always be on that road with them and cars finding a way around the market.
If the market is to be moved, Amuwo Odofin towards Ojo should be considered, not Abule egba

not impressed with the Chinese construction undecided
The word circular used isn't for that portion shown, but to indicate it goes round the town, so if the town is even in a rectangular form on map, circular will be used to describe such road.
It goes round the city of Ibadan

The government should probe the man. This country self. The man has questions to answer. What's the source of the dollars? Why did he keep such a big amount at home? What goods and services does he buys with the dollar notes?; then, arrest the service providers.

This man and his kind are part of the people destroying the value of naira. You are in Nigeria, why are you keeping dollar notes in bulk? And I won't be surprised if he's one of those abusing Tinubu and Cardoso online.

May God help us. The rot and corruption in this country is mind-blowing. It has found its way into every fiber of the fabrics of our society.
That's the funniest part. Sometimes I encounter people abusing the presidents or governor's, when they are done and switch from politics to work related issues, they start discussing how to do some runs on the book in their organization, I just shake head and let them be

Since our elites have turned BTA/PTA into a business, let the incentive be removed.

I applaud the CBN for being bold.
I remember we both share same view on this on that thread.

Politics / Re: Outages: FG Plans Sanctions For Non-performing Discos by OlujobaSamuel: 10:12am On Feb 14
nairalanda1:

NO, the MTN and econet(later celtel, later Zain , now Airtel) don't have their prices set by government, so they can mae huge profits and attract investment

The power sector has a tarrif set by government that is not cost reflective, so they lose money, the subsidy government pays them does not cover their losses, so they cannot make improvements needed.

Therein is the problem

Says who?
The telecom industry is also having price control, that's why all service providers charge #4 for sms
That's why no call rate is below #7/min.
Kindly Google NCC price floor for telecom service providers.
Politics / Re: Outages: FG Plans Sanctions For Non-performing Discos by OlujobaSamuel: 10:01am On Feb 14
nairalanda1:
cheesy

As usual, the government is running away from the real solution.

FIrst, all the discos are not perfoming. So, government go close all of them

The real reason why the discos are not perfroming is..THEY ARE NOT CHARGING COST REFLECTIVE TARRIFS..let them charge cost reflective tarrifs. Let government agenices pay them the monies they owe discos. Let government go after power theft. Let government pay for meters.

But no, let's look good by banning 'non-perfroming discos'.

(Like a father not paying for his children's books, pencils, not feeding the kids well, and then beats them for failing at school!)

Before anyone quotes me to tell me rubbish, read the below article. It was what the experts said, not me, not anyone else.

SAUCE OF THE ABOVE

SO, who is government sanctioning?. The same companies that they do not allow to charge cost reflective tarrifs, and thus force them to run at a loss, meaning they cannot pay for improvements, and have to rip off some of their customers in the name of estimated billing just to balance the books?

I just dey laff. APC better stop all this smoke and mirrors, and allow the free market operate in the power sector.
Is it MTN or Econet that got you your phone?? Or the govt come to your abode to arrest you for using cheat codes to browse when you have not data??
So govt should keep funding their operations while they eat the returns

He wasn't showing off, infact that his building was named after his name that I know. His house is number 1 on the street. When I went to the duplex, I saw his wife who came out to kiss him lips to lips. We entered upstairs, he went in and changed clothes and came out. He isn't faking it. The Lexus car is his car because I went through the photocopies of car papers when he left me in the car to go and get sharwama then. I wanted to be sure because I was surprised and currently now he is an S.A to the current governor. He posted his appointment letter on his WhatsApp status and I viewed it seeing his name fully.
I never said he is lying oo, I mean he loves to be seen for what he has gotten from his work life (politics).

Well I think since an aide of a local government chairman can be this rich because he told me he had nothing prior to his appointment then how rich can his boss the chairman be?
He got the fund from somewhere else beyond the LGA legitimate and illegitimate fund, probably used his connection within the LGA circle to get some jobs for his business which earned him nice doe.
I've worked within the treasury department of a LGA before, and privilege to be closer to some senior academic staff, the guy probably just want to showoff to you since you chose to have a different path from politics.
Education / Re: Does A Local Government Chairman Earn More Than A University Vice-chancellor?? by OlujobaSamuel: 3:27am On Feb 11
VC earns more, irrespective of however you want to look at it.
No LGA chairman can approve a contract of 1bn without the state governor, most of the politicians you see do not start making the millions from that post, you have to be rich to get to the post, then you grow in your wealth through the post.
I have a friend that was a LGA chairman, he has a fuel station, hotel, houses before getting the post, if he adds one or two others during his tenure, those that don't know him will think he got them all through the post.
VC are usually well learned so even the corrupt ones are not really into showoff, their stealing is basically on investment, how many LGA chairman can secure a luxury apartment after his tenure compares to an ex-VC?

CBN don't print dollars. Cbn don't have the capacity to receive funds on behalf if customers. The commercial banks has that capacity.
CBN don't print but they are custodian.
If you send fund to your friend in Nigeria using a Van Bank plc, how will he get the fund?
Do you think Van Bank will go to the US to get the dollar? Or it will be window shopping on the Nigerian street seeking for dollar?
CBN gives banks the dollars.
As govt banker, they keep the naira and Kobo, FX note and gold reserves unbehalf of the Federation

Cbn does not transact with commercial banks
Cbn does not have that facility rather the commercial banks.
If someon sent you money, the money goes straight into commercial banks
Cbn does not maintain account with foreign commercial banks all over the world.

Banks get their notes from CBN
No bank prints note, for every FX fund a customer receives, the bank needs to get the fund somewhere for him or her, and the go-to person is the CBN

Maybe you're not into foreign exchange, Buhari did exactly the same in 2017 at it backfired which is the reason naira/dollar rate jump up with over ₦150 then.

So how is this better?

Definetly, these people lack the ideas to run the economy, it's just like recycling old idea.
I'm not into FX trading, but into business seriously affected by FX rate.
What Buhari did is a little different, there was so restrictions on some necessities, also we can't use our account (cards) to pay for FX.
Going forward, we should be able to use our cards for FX transactions, but you won't be able to spend the fiat note anywhere with the country.
I believe a PTA/BTA system will be created to cater for that area for those leaving.

This so called people are misinformed and they are blind to the what president Tinubu is doing. If you all can check all the news media.

There is overwhelming news of how the Police, Amotekun and Soldiers are arresting the bandits and kidnappers one after the other.

Eradicating insecurity is the first step of Nigeria greatness and Tinubu is not joking with it at all.

People have liberty to protest, either well informed or not

With security, Farmers will be able to go to farm and food will become cheaper.

The fact here is that most Nigerians Citizen has been pampered and spoilt by how Government dey pay subsidy for them.

Coast of living in Nigeria is one of the lowest, if you guys tour around the African continent you will know this.

Small bottle of coke is 200 in Nigeria but in Ghana its N720

And in south Africa it's N940, same as Zambia and Zimbabwe.

In liberia Bag of rice is around N170, 000.

Since the economy of nations become global. Things have fallen apart. People are trading consistently with other nations.

Economy is driven by greed. These greedy people always find a way to upset the system. The government suppose to find a way to increase in flow of foreign exchange.

We should forget about crude and focus on other goods. We have other natural resources outside beside crude.
You are right, we need to expand our earnings.
Roads, power and security are some major factors that any serious govt needs to address, but there is also need to address the current crisis at hand.
If this crisis isn't properly managed, the few manufacturing companies we have will collapse due to increase in cost as a result of FX effect on raw materials and machinery

The same politicians will go to the banks and buy the dollars.

How many Nigerians can get access to dollar from the bank. They will frustrate the person with only option to aboki.
If the government can service everyone that comes to the bank then no need to buy from aboki
I think that's the major fear, but I believe with this, CBN won't give banks fiat FX note again, meaning they won't even have the cash to give the politicians or big men

You are not getting anywhere. You will see as it will back fire. People will stop sending dollar home. They will do the exchange from there.
There is no decision that won't have its own effect. As long as we can't increase earnings, the best is to manage the earnings we have.
I still advocated for something similar yesterday. There is no reason for anyone trading a foreign note
If you have reasons to hold a FX, it should be electronic fund and should be given only when needed at mkt rate, not something to be kept for speculative reasons
