I'd suggest you talk to your sister to try and get your dad over to her country if she doesn't mind while you also change your location because with this hatred brewing in your brother's heart against you his family ehn, he won't hesitate using either you or your dad for rituals ooo and this would happen on those late nights of his. God forbid shaa.. Or talk to your dad about changing location entirely for you people's safety

I forgot to mention the pain that comes with being induced. I think I nearly deafened everybody in the hospital with my wails that day.

Hmmm, I was asking my doc about being induced at 38 weeks cos that day is my birthday. He looked at me smiled and said I should wait for normal labour that Induction is very painful and if it doesn't go as expected one might end up doing cs.

I am pretty sure they didn't leave her "wallowing". For most women with prior CS scar, they cannot aid labor for them for risk of rupture.
Labor has to progress very naturally, and at 4cm with so much pain, the risk must have been high for them to quickly suggest they move into the theatre.

Most times, labor progress is very slow, very painful, and very risky too, and it can only be recommended when there is appropriate devices to monitor such labor which is very few here in Nigeria.

As a mum who have had babies is the past years, this is my advice to you. Let's get down to it

1. I have always wondered why people ask you for big flask.

a Well.let me tell you based on what I noticed. When you have a big flask , you only boil water once. Ie, in the morning, thereby saving your gas usage. Our mothers usually bath babies twice ( ie in the morning and in the night)

b. You will also be needing hot water the one you will be told to put small savlon and will be told to sit on it dailyfor your bumbum to heal up.( welcome to the club)

c. Also , some hospitals only do provide you with hot water only in the morning hence , the need to store for additional use.

I have also gotten another big flask despite the fact that I have small ones at home.

2.Eucalyptus oil is very important to have as a parent . We do have it in our house at all times. When your children have stuffy nose , you pour some drops in very hot water and cover up with towels and you inhale the steam .some doctors often recommend it for some months babies too when they can't breathe well because of stuffed nose.

Some hospitals too do advice you to pour some baby oil in a small bottle and put some drops of eucalyptus oil in it so that you can rub the soft part of your baby's head so that cold can't get to the head through the soft part.

Eucalyptus oil also prevent insects bite. There are times we add a bit in a oil at night to rub on those toddlers that insist they want to go out and play in the evening where mosquitoes are prevalent.

Note: when you want to buy eucalyptus oil NEVER buy it where you buy your baby's things ( a lot of them sell the fake ones) go to a very good pharmacy not roadside drugstore.

A bottle will last you for a long time.

3. I do buy both small and big cotton wool.
I take both to the hospital. When they first ask for it, you give them the small one. When they need extra, they will take out of the big one. The big one is massive. I still have the remaining of the one I used in 2013 at home .

Cotton wools are used together with olive oil to clean up babies when they are first born.

The remaining one from the big one, you will be using it on daily basis to clean or swab the mouth of you baby since they don't brush until later in the months ahead.

4.Assorted means colourful. Those ones you buy that comes in sets, no need for paparazzi . This is to lift your spirit when you see your beautiful baby

5. Buy a box what will just be enough to take some things that you need. If you need more, your husband will go home to bring any other thing .After all, he is baba baby.

Hi,mama. Farting means there's poo and gas in there.
Get a single match stick,wrap cotton wool round it a little bit,dip it inside mentholatum.
Place the baby face down on your lap.
Gently reflect the bum
Insert the stick gently. Not too deep inside the anus.
Run warm water with your palm between the butt in a way that it would run through the anus. Baby starts to fart very well.
Now,turn the baby to face you. Make sure there's a bath right under his/her butt.
Rock the legs gently like you are riding a bicycle.
Watch how poo will fly out. The baby may find it uncomfortable and may cry because she/he is constipated.
You need to increase your water and fruits intake. I kept eating bread as a breastfeeding mom then; my baby was severely constipated.

I reject it in Jesus name, I just want to hear from people that have gone through it successfully before.

Big cotton wools are actually cost effective. The large size I got in 2019 for my child delivery, is still very much available. Actually I just took from it to cleanse my face. I actually doubt the hospital taking your things. Factly, they may not even touch your cotton wool or savlon.

My sister, not all hospitals oooo. Why put a size you can't use up while with them, is it for one to pack load and still go back home with it? . The gynae who owns my hospital is male, no wonder he said any size you have, you bring .. I'll just get extra cotton wool for home use

Lol, mine wrote a pack of diaper and apart from the ones I bought I got a 10 in 1 to take with me. Moreover what are they doing with sponge? I tot they said hospitals only clean babies and not bath them these days?

My Birth Story
I had my first baby April 2017,after ttc , it took me four years+ to conceive again, after a missed miscarriage at 7weeks.
This pregnancy was different eh, morning sickness showed me pepper but In all I thank God it ended in praise. approaching my edd my doctor said I should choose date for my elective CS because of previous SCAR, I choose FEB 9TH But on the 31st of January I started having contractions I timed it. it was 10 to 15 minutes apart. On the 1st of FEB WE headed to the hospital , I was checked the Dr said I'm 4cm by 6am the next day I was 6cm but the refused to hasten labour reason been I had previous SCAR and I have been booked for CS , they left me unattended to because I refuse to do CS I was progressing very well but still they wanted to tear me up. my hubby pited me because I was wallowing in pains when contraction came and so he signed consent form,i was wheeled to the theater and they brought out my damsel. I don't pray for my enemy to use that hospital. all the care about is money with VERY POOR QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM.

Congrats mummy. Some of these hospitals are supposed to be shut down because money is priority to them than human life, leaving you unattended to for CS refusal is very bad but thank God you and baby are okay

No need buyin d silverbird thing, if u ve flash b4, no need buying bigger ones since u ve two smaller ones, just buy sleepsuits 4 baby... Babies doesnt need all does flashy dresses... Dont b surprise ur baby may endup wearin most of his/clothes ones cs d up dey grow in just one month is unbelievable... Sleepsuits r life savers... U cn b buyin orisirisi assorted clothes wen baby reach 6months... 4 outting purpose.

Mama its not just rationing but they didnt specify sizes like I've seen some hospital lists do, they will write 1 large this, 1 large that. To cap it I asked my doctor on Saturday he said any size .

Its the first time so I don't want to overdo and underdo plus I don't know what I'll be coming home with.

Mummies I have a few questions, thanks in addy for the answers...
1. Is it compulsory to buy a big water flask? I'm asking because I have 2 small ones (1ltr & 820ml) and the hotness lasts for more than 24hrs either water or pap. I also heard some general hospitals have it in their list but mine doesn't so I don't know how important buying a bigger one would be.

2. Is it compulsory to buy Eucalyptus Oil (SilverBird) and how different is its use from Mentholatum?

3. What does hospitals use cotton wool for? Asking because I bought a small one (150) as my hospital didn't specify size) and I watched videos of people packing their delivery bags packing gigantic cotton wool of 2000 naira or more

4. What kind of outfit can be used as baby's first outfit after birth cos my hospital wrote Assorted Baby wear (I still don't get that kind of assorted like mixture of liver, intestines and roundabout )

5. How heavy or light should one pack to the hospital as I've watched different videos of people packing their delivery bags and carrying the biggest box size to the hospital (like it's a wedding sumtin).. Please share experiences of the kinds of bags you used to take your things to the hospital especially for people who don't have cars like myself or whose labour might not occur in the night before one will look like someone who wants to go and live in the hospital.

6. When getting items on the hospital list like comfit, spirit etc, do I still need to get extra for home use or I will comeback home with whatever is left of the number the hospital asked me to bring?

7. Any reviews on Lebrace Diapers? How good and comfy is it?

Since its not all the time, a reasonable boss should allow. That was how my aunt's boss back then was questioning her absence at work despite she giving reasons that she had a terrible cough such that when she's coughing she's peeing and the woman said she's not the first to get pregnant and should resume back (she's a police officer). My aunt said she reported to the woman's office the next day and she started coughing and peeing on herself and the boss had to send her back home to resume when the cough had gone.

Some people can be so terrible. If I know you are like that, I will just faint for you so that you will let me go home

You should leave work and go home oo, branch your hospital while going home to know how it can be remedied. Make sure you are also taking water at intervals to replenish lost body water
