Hello mamas and papas in the house. I know being pregnant after a wait is exciting but what of this feeling of not desiring a particular sex or not being eager to know what's in there, is it normal? Will one be excited to meet who one is not eager to know of? Having mixed feelings

Good evening everyone. To cut the long story short my mental health issues started in 2012 when I tried weed in the university. It's not genetic. I've been in and out of psychiatric hospitals a good number of times. However I'm currently on medication and I've been able to manage the condition. I was also able to graduate and I've also done my nysc and my family is planning on opening a small business for me since job has not been forthcoming.

However my health condition has been kept secret by me and family and I'm currently dating a nice girl. Please should I tell her my secret. What caused most of my episodes was refusal to take my medication and all that but right now I'm very okay and for some few years now I've been going about my daily affairs without any issue. If I let the cat out of the bag I don't think she may stay cos the stigma of mental health issues is not a joke. Please I need your advice on how to handle this delicate issue. Thanks

If you dont want to tell her directly for fear of leaving you, you can show her the drugs when she's around and tell her to always help you remember using those drugs as recommended by your family doctor cos you do have this breakdown when you don't use it.
But she really deserves to know. Any girl that will stay will stay.

I don't know how to resolve this, I m planning to get married soon but the problem here is that things are very complicated at this point.

Firstly it was one of my fiance brother who was pastor that keep saying i can't marry her until I get personal confirmation (in form of dream) from God. Mind you I have pray about it from 3 different men of God and they confirmed this lady is my bone. Later he said I m a yahoo boy because I said I work online after we sort out that one it was my fiance aunty which is the person in charge to give us the wedding bride list (Because her father is late). She refused to release the list to me, she insisted na until we do introduction first. But we having been receiving different messages to keep this wedding ceremony low (We should not expose ourselves) as possible as we can which is why we decided to run both introduce, court wedding and traditional wedding under 1 weeks but the woman insist we must do introduction first, that the wedding date will be picked on the introduction day.

Now the main problem now is that my mum family don't want to agree to do things codedly because they are trying to drawn my father family (My daddy is late) side in which I was avoiding right from time. Going to village to inform my dad family about my wedding mean I m exposing myself to some battle and that is why I left village right from time (The last time I went home was 2015)

Now I was thinking since my mum family are not ready to understand my worry and fear, is there any way we can do only the court wedding without introduction ceremony and traditional wedding.

Like if there is a way to collect the wedding list then get the necessary items on the list then go to court to do our thing. Because I don't think I can risk it.

Everything is important depending on the way you both go about it.. You really need to talk to your mum and give her time to pray maybe she'll see what you are seeing.. Let her know that the peace of the marriage is the most important except she wants you to struggle for the rest of your life.. I almost had same challenge but thank God my mum understood plus I had lots of revelations (personally).
Hubby and I agreed the number of people from both families for intro which is not up to 10 each, we did the court marriage a year later in abj and fixed our trad on a Monday morning knowing fully well that it is an important work day.
The people you need to get through to are your mum as she'll get through to the family for you (my mum just told the head of my dad's family that the party is not elaborate and there's no need for sending delegates, thank God the man who stood as my dad was close to my family already so that wasn't a problem) and you fiancee, she'll get through to her family as she knows where she can hold them down. If she's not on your side to support you it won't work ooo.
Also make enquiries from people who come from the part of the country your lady comes from to know if the price is affordable or not so that you can prepare well. God will be with you.

Haa, are you having body aches? I think you should ask your gynae/doc if you can go the spa for a massage. Moreover it might lead to you lying on your tommy for a while which might not be convenient for you.

Good motning mamas in the house, please am in my 9th week but have not been using any supplement. Some said pregnacare should be on prescription by the doctor and I can go for Ferrous/Forrobin plus, Calcium and folic acid.
Pls which do you recommend between Ferrous and Forrobin Plus

Congratulations ma, vomiting will stop as you progress into your second trimester and it also depends on your body. Just ensure you eat in tits and bits so that you are not too weak. Eat what your body tolerates.
Many mums to be use pregnacare without prescription ma but some find it difficult to continue because of the large size, some doctors won't even prescribe it, they will just tell you to take folic acid. For the Ferrous/ferrobin, Sabi mamas will be able to answer that.

I tell you, that period was a trying one oo as my distant aunt I was staying with was trying to hook me with one young and 'rich' accountant while her husband was constantly reminding me the guy I wanted to marry has no job, I ignored them both and didn't even carry them along anymore despite living under their roof.
Money can grow wings and fly away (God forbids that one who is rich becomes poor) but the time in one's life that happens is very very vital and no one prays for that to happen when the dependents looking up to them are on the high...

LOL, I get. The story isn't complete though, lemme complete it. We had to shift the trad from a Saturday to a Monday cos people would go to work and not everybody can leave work on a Monday morning so it was only family members that were so dear that attended. They were shocked at first but since we insisted that was what we wanted, they all supported our Monday Sitting Room Engagement . I bless God for how far He has helped us as its getting better everyday
