Sweetlemon: Says who?

Do you want to tell me that you have never at any point in time said or did anything you never regretted?

The man has apologized for his uncouthness. That's fine by me.

As for those saying she wasn't hawking, I don't believe Oshiomole just decided to attack her without her having to have broken one law or the other which would have landed her in jail by now in more developed countries, widow or no widow.
Agree that human beings make mistakes, but utterances like this as head of a government should be thoroughly thought through before being uttered and are not regarded as mistakes but his manner or style of governance, Oshiomole just added a perception to his long list. lol

X-factoria:
You must have some illusion about the geographical area and the people of the North. If you are thinking the north is Kano and Sokoto or Hausa/Fulani you have a lot to learn. Let me remind you that what you refer to as the North comprise of Taraba, Gombe, Benue, Plateau, Kaduna, Kogi, Kwara, Niger and Adamawa all of which have sizable population of Christians and minority tribes who don't give a damn about the call for a return of power to the north because it won't serve their interests. It has never been in their interest and they are no fools!

Jonathan will only be a fool by not exploiting this obvious divide in the north. A strategists would tell him the home truth - to forget about Kano and Sokoto. He can never win there! If I were him, I will start right now to pump money and empower people in these aforementioned "swing" states, give them juicy political appointments and court their leaders - both political and traditional. He has all the oil money to buy anybody. Goodluck to him sha.
Best strategy analysis so far.

Mynd_44: You see this argument of yours is the same point you guys made when Boko Haram was slaughtering citizens of my country by the thousands and the president said "Keep calm it happens everywhere" they bombed everywhere killed without restraint and after thousands died, he deployed the military and I am supposed to praise him?

When the subsidy was lifted, we were told the money will putty directly into capital projects like roads, electricity etc and we had to wait for how long for them to start some remedial works?

Do you ask yourself why the FG has not done anything since then but they release budgets every year? Where is the second Niger bridge? Wheel is the east-west road? Where is the ministry of agriculture?

Where are the rails? Yet I am support to stat passing him for fixing 2% of a road? Are you serious or you are just some sort of comic relief?

The pace is slow and this is the only stretch, not more than 5km, where work is going on

It's all very political from the look of things

Can someone please tell GEJ it's not werking

Yorubas are smarter than this
Come to Europe to see for yourself that roadwork goes in slow pace, I think Nigerians need to learn political or social bureaucracy that delay things to happen.

The question now is not where or who invented it, the Ijaws have preserved the Ogogoro legacy till now, a sensible and developmentally concious country or politician should be smart enough to make it a national pride and financially carter for households, same goes to other locally invented beaverages and foods nationally.

They are just promoting the pride of their country and not ashame to do it. Just imagine GEJ with a big glass of Star beer on tv or front page of national daily, criticism and name calling.
PoliticsOgogoro Is A Nigeria's (Ijaw) Invention, Improve And Promote It Idiots. by omanzo02(op):
The degree of most Nigerians intelligence and creative thinking baffles me a lot, Ogogoro is an Ijaw man's (Nigeria) invention, instead of improving the distilling method and promoting it nationally and internationally to make meaningful gains from it we are busy castigating and giving it a negative dimension, Belgium is the best beer country in the whole world just like france made waves with wine from common grape fruit and top politicians promote and drink it on live tv programs and lobbying for export and account for thousands of jobs. if palm wine and ogogoro are taken seriously and improved on in a well equiped laboratory do u know how well it could do worldwide?.

Most Nigerians are quick to think the rise of drinks like Hennessy, Stroh, Courvoisier, remy martins, Jonny walker, scotch etc are any different from Ogogoro. We spend Thousand of naira buying this foreign drinks while what we invented is waiting to be developed, improved on to creat employment and u want us to grow?. Go to these foreign spirit drinks factory worldwide to see the wonders it has done.

Every country make their little invention a national pride and Nigerians make theirs a national woe and shame. what a shame?.

omar22: Look I dont have anything against flying older fleets but those who use older fleets use them privately, but as a commercial aircraft, I totally disagree! Most of the Nigeria firms rush to buy used fleet from foreign companies! WHY?

Theirs a reason why they are selling them, actually the first intention is to scrap them and recycle the mentals until we show interest. When ARIK was launched they had fleets between 5 and 10 years old, look at them now, they look disgusting.
Arik acquired mostly new planes and leased fairly used ones, see a comprehensive history of their planes.

PoliticsAre The Aircrafts For The National Carrier Old Planes? This Is How To Find Out. by omanzo02(op):
The rumour of engaging older planes for the new national carrier made me to bring the information that every aircraft that roll out of the production line anywhere in the world is tracable by anybody with a click of a mouse or tap of your smart Phone in your living room.

http://www.planespotters.net/Production_List/Country/Nigeria?p=1

Above is the link to every planes in Nigeria (and worldwide) either active, due to be delivered, scrapped/crashed, stored/preserved or inactive,
all u have to do is click on the plane construction number ( under c/n column) to view operators history till it get to the current owner. u can also search the plane history with it tail numbers.

So when the new carrier begins operation u can find out if the planes originate directly from the factory or not, even if ministry of aviation lie the planes are new or not very old they CANNOT bribe the manufacturer or leasor to falsify the age or history of the plane, be rest assure of that.

Under is a comprehensive history of Aerocontractor plane with tail number 5N-BKQ, contruction number (c/n) 26695

CFCfan: Why Airbus? Boeing planes have a sleeker design, and are much easier for pilots to operate.
I have been in both, Airbus have better sitting space and features than Boeing, with the new wing design is easier to fly.

CFCfan: Nigerian Eagle will deploy new Boeing aircraft on long-haul/intercontinental routes, while the Bombardier planes will be used for the regional (flights to West and central African destinations) routes.
Nigeria need to invest in Airbus planes.

hybee_noni: Hear urslf nd ur silly thinking, picking out a 20yr old aircraft out of d rest is nt the issue, if I may ask u, hw many more yrs of service wil d said aircraft go b4 eventually packing it up, probably 10-15 years + 20yrs = abt 35yrs. A national carrier flying abt 30yrs old aircraft is what u call devt?
Do u know old Sabena planes are in Brussels airlines fleets that ply USA, Asia and Africa route?
AutosRe: Tariff On Imported Cars To Rise By 60% by omanzo02: 1:25pm On Nov 25, 2013
ogb5: How does this affect a Nigerian living abroad that wants to relocate to Nigeria with his cars.

We he be made to pay duty on his own used car? They need to clarify this change in policy.

Telling a Nigerian to pay 70% duty on his belongings on coming home is equivalent to telling him to remain abroad forever.
I think in that case u need to have your number registration/license, conformity, valid insurance, and mot papers to prove that u were using the vehicle, but I am not so sure.
AutosRe: Tariff On Imported Cars To Rise By 60% by omanzo02: 1:14pm On Nov 25, 2013
Aigbofa: A similar policy to "create" jobs and make Nigeria a major rice exporter have resulted in Nigeria being a major smuggler's paradise, despite farming being less complex than making cars.
What is your boss doing to prevent a repeat of this failure?
Since his only solution is to increase tariff on everything and inflict pain on the less privileged, I have a better solution for him. Just ban all poor people from Nigeria and his problems will be solved.

If unemployed should not buy cars, I assume they still need to eat. But did it stop your boss from putting in place a similar half hearted policy on rice which he had no genuine interest in seeing through?
It's GEJ duty to make a favourable policies and delegates the enforcement through the ministers, if u get my drift u will understand that it's the common man that is twarting his efforts.

AutosRe: Tariff On Imported Cars To Rise By 60% by omanzo02: 1:08pm On Nov 25, 2013
egift: FG is always looking for ways to make things hard for the poor man, as long as it brings them more money to loot.

What better alternatives have they provided? How many of them are driving Innoson?
This regime is very necessary, if the dealers are smart they have to encourage their brand manufacturers to set up a depot in Nigeria for a start, I give u an example, in most European countries the manufacturer have depots where they don't have factories or assembly plants and still enjoy favourable tax and tarief regime, cars appear cheaper in Germany but when I bring that car to Belgium to register for use I will be paying more than I am supposed to if I had bought that same model in Belgium.

Nigeria has become a big market for cars, it's a way of asking the manufacturer to directly invest in the country if they want benefit in expanding their brand.

For now it difficult for our pocket but it benefit the country in the long run.
