doctokwus: In all honesty some defence of actions are nauseating.D least u cud av done is to try to find out d actual reason for d delay in start of work, acknowledge same, instead of claiming here that there is usually a lag period btw launching& actual start of work, which is total bunkum
BUREAUCRACY will delay commencement of work for a period of time, that is an acceptable norms in governance. Advance payment for the job won't be automatic.

GOVERNMENT RESPONSES TO PROBLEMS IS NEVER FIREBRIGADE MODE UNLESS IT DIRECTLY THREATEN LIFE OF IT CITIZENS.

REALLY!!!!!!
I
I dont think so
What do u know than argue aimlessly. NS, Deutche Bahn, NMBS etc have old trains on their tracks. U want government to buy high speed train so that u can pay 4000 naira from Lagos to Kano?, TGV from Amsterdam to Paris, a journey of about one and half hour cost €110, can everyone afford such fare in Nigeria?.

NO GOVERNMENT ESTABLISH A VENTURE FOR FREE, AND NIGERIA IS NOT AN EXCEPTION.

That cheap and free mentality in Nigeria must change.
PoliticsRe: Letter To President Jonathan, By Al-mustapha by omanzo02: 10:42am On Jul 27, 2013
This letter originated from GEJ opposition to create negative opinion and discredit the man release, period.

ARE THE OPPOSITION THIS STU.PID TO RESORT TO IMPERSOTATION OF THIS MAGNITUDE?. cool shocked shocked shocked

This is already a failed tactic. grin grin grin
PoliticsRe: Letter To President Jonathan, By Al-mustapha by omanzo02: 10:32am On Jul 27, 2013

So you accept mediocre?

Perfect case of someone been brainwashed by our leaders! Just like cloths been donated for Charity. Igbo boys would bring them to Nigeria and sell it (boss-corner) or Bend down boutique! The fact here is that the Government could afford it but since People like you accept mediocre things it gives our leader the option to bring home scrap metals.
U just spill rubbish out your mouth without logical thinking, railways is a cost intensive venture, affording modern trains is not the problem but making profit to sustain it, government can only provide the infrastructure for it not to run it with taxpayers fund. U start with what customers can afford and gradually improve as economy improve, that is how it done In Europe where I live.

AND YOUR GOOD LEADERS THAT MADE IT DORMANT FOR YEARS ARE WHAT THEN?
PoliticsRe: 3rd Lagos-Kano Train Service Flagged Off Yesterday by omanzo02: 8:35pm On Jul 26, 2013
Omexonomy: Dont mind them it is only in nairaland you will see a goat insulting human being
GEJ should keep the tempo and focus on laying the primary foundation, for the next 25 - 30 years we are going to run on locomotives, improve the tracks and safety systems, when the patronage percentage increases and NRC start earning from the investment they will gradually introduce comfortable coaches, and introduce modern locomotive, if we are aiming for Half of rail system I use everyday in Europe fact is the journey is still very far.

snakova: dont mind dem. his mentor namadi sambo has shown him how to score cheap popularity points n some eediots r here rejoicing. wats special abt reviving our old NRC that was abandoned for a good reason being obsolete? dont worry ICC wud soon issue an arrest warrant for ur oga at the top for his crimes against humanity n theft in the 1 billion dollars scandal.
This a case of doing with what u have, 90% Nigerians can't pay the fare if modern trains are deployed on those tracks or do u expect to ride in it for free?.
PoliticsRe: 3rd Lagos-Kano Train Service Flagged Off Yesterday by omanzo02: 8:05pm On Jul 26, 2013
vivacious vivi: This may slowly put some Logistics companies (dealing in long-distance freight) out of business.
Good move all the same.
Hope its more modern-looking infrastructure and not those "locomotives" I see along Oshodi / Yaba railway! cheesy
If previous government had maintained and sustain the rail system things would be easy for GEJ government to carry on the modernisation of the rail system, but in this case he starting all over, before that can begin the rail system must expanded and return to profit making establishment.

First the tracks need upgrade, and the perimeter around the tracks must be Condon off, bypass must be upgraded.

Top_Bayo: Nobody is talking of disembarking from plane..in the other thread...clearly tilted "exchanging pleasantries" before the President...

Stop comparing unrelated things..
It is not forbidden in saner climes.

Desric: Thank you very much for posting these Counter photos, maybe they pay you to man Nairaland and counter every criticisms made on the Government of the day and without posting such photos, it will appear that you are not doing your job, so you should also thank the people for sustaining your meal ticket by criticising the Government activities regularly and thereby making you relevant. but you still have some works to do to clear the air very well, please research for photos where the first lady is exchanging formalities or pleasantries first as she steps down the air force one before the President. Failure to do this will amounts to automatic defeat. So you either act now or forever hold your peace.
Hey lo.ser,

I am sitting at my comfortable desk about 9000km away from Nigeria, I earn my sweat in hard currency and can't be bribed, I know u are not familiar with hire wired counter criticism, well welcome to one, the environment I am in is an evolving one, so exchanging pleasantry or alighting from the plane first is not a sin.

taharqa2: Can you imagine what 'Nigerians' now spend their time doing: discussing who descended a plane 1st and shook hands with guests; how people shook hands with others; who received who in what Airport; etc etc. 'Nigerians' now spend their time debating FRIVOLITIES, urged on by a Clownish 'Opposition' so bereft of ideas and strategy, both..... How PATHETIC. 'Nigerians' who have bewitched thee?? The person witcch strong..*smh*
Most Nigerians are dolts in logic and articulating reasoning, if PEJ were to be Mitchell Obama that takes the military greetings ahead her husband they would be calling blue murder, they are afraid to admit the presidency is trying to redefine role for women in power.

If the oppositions understands the effect of constant negative criticism and attack, they would change tactics and concentrate on core issues, If GEJ strategist are smart they can win big from it, that is the new strategy sweeping across Europe. grin grin grin
PoliticsRe: Turai Yar'dua Also Ignore Protocol, Decended The Plane Before the President?. by omanzo02(op): 11:25pm On Jul 17, 2013
Igwe.:
Yeah, PEJ may have goofed there but that is not a sin and shouldn't be taken as one.

Who without a sin should cast the first stone, those comparing our president with Obama should also castigate him for not being in the forefront of gay right campaign like Obama.

Jobless!
I included the Obama pic to let the fault finders know it is not compulsory for the president to disembark first to shake hands with dignitaries. its only inappropriate if it were a presidential staff that shook hand with dignitaries first.
PoliticsRe: Turai Yar'dua Also Ignore Protocol, Decended The Plane Before the President?. by omanzo02(op): 11:11pm On Jul 17, 2013
Maxymilliano: Don't mind the perennial fault finders, pay them no heed, they are never satisfied with anything the president does, to them, it has become the case of The Donkey, The Man & The Wife. No matter what the President does or how he comport himself, you'll still see them grumbling and complaining about what's not ...
It's a pity most Nigerians psyche is tainted with 'I'm God' attitude, I sometime don't get it when Nigerians make simple things complicated for themselves. grin grin grin
