SPERMFLAKES must occupy the space your brain-cells should be. . . . .

Wenger doesn't spend much(stadium or not), you are too useless to comprehend basic concepts.
In SAF's case, he was rebuilding. He had too many ageing players and too many budding stars in his rank.
Mourinho came in fresh. . . .He was able to tap all the players on SAF's shopping list via Peter Kenyon and he was on a roll.

He had inarguably the best squad in the whole of Europe in 2004/5 and it woulda been a travesty if he didn't win the league with that team.
Because he wasn't special, he lost woefully to Liverpool. Chelsea's machine failed to score a single goal in 180 mins of UCL Semifinal footie.
They did not deserve to be in the final and things went tits up for him from that point. Roman lost his confidence in him and he started thrusting players on him thus the arrival of Shevchenko and Ballack.
Wow, do you want some biscuit? you know what? if you behave you would get a cup tea with it.

I said SAF and Wenger had young players in 2004 cos it was a period they were rebuilding and you are mentioning Roy Keane's transfer fees. . .
Even a goat woulda analysed the situation better. At least SAF made United rich from the brilliant football he made his team play.
It was Roman's money that brought success to Chelsea not Mourinho's football. 2 different issues here, Mr. Doofus.
DUMBO!!!

Wenger couldn’t spend because they had to finance the stadium…. And they had the team that went unbeaten the previous season Manchesters case the only two young players Mancester United bought were Rooney and Ronaldo that’s around £40m…the core of the,

To be sincere with you I don't think he was better than Avram Grant technically wise. Grant took Chelsea to the finals of CL, and almost won. His defeat was circumstantial.
Did Avram Grant win it? No, he also lost to Tottenham in the league cup final, Jose won 3 cups beating Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester only for the Jewish answer to Amodu to go and loose to Spurs…. Theirs no consolation for 2nd place
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Mourinho: Genius Or Fluke by omar22(m): 3:37pm On Nov 27, 2009
Who gives a Bleep about head to head? What you Mourinho fans don't understand is the fact that he had infinite resources to acquire ready-made players while SAF and Wenger had to start from scratch developing talents like Fabregas, Walcott, Ronaldo, Rooney, Fletcher, etc. Jose was able to take advantage of the situation cos his ready-made imports were far better than others. However, as soon as there was parity between the quality of the United squad and Chelsea squad. . . . . . .Jose lost the league to SAF becos by then, Rooney and Ronaldo had developed fully.

TOP management staff of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the recently concluded FIFA U-17 World Cup, hosted by Nigeria have had their international passports seized by the State Security Service (SSS).

A source close to the LOC in Abuja stated that the development was as a result of the ongoing interrogation of LOC officials by the SSS incompliance with the directive given by Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan that the LOC should be probed for accountability and probity.

The source revealed to the Nigerian Tribune that the SSS had since swung into action, inviting top officials of the LOC to ascertain how they managed the finances of the competition, said to be about N13 billion, which was released to it by the Federal Government.

It was also gathered that some officials had given useful information to the SSS which prompted the seizure of the international passports of some top LOC officials who directly handled the finances of the organisation throughout the championship.

“I can tell you authoritatively that some LOC top brass have been asked to deposit their international passports with the SSS. I think this is purely a security procedure and not necessarily that anybody has been indicted.

“Again, the truth of the matter is that people have opened up and will continue to make useful statements,” the source said.

The source added that “it is after the interrogation and the report submitted to the presidency that we can now know whether anybody is indicted or not, or if there was any mismanagement on the part of the LOC officials.

“But I can tell you that the chairman of the LOC board, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, has not been found wanting and, as such, he is not affected by the SSS order.

“Also, it was discovered that top ministry and LOC officials had more than three cars in their fleet, ranging from Prado Jeeps, to Range Rover, Toyota Camry and Hilux.

“A top LOC official gave away his own official Toyota Camry to his girlfriend at the Bayero University, Kano (BUK). This was revealed to the SSS and action has been taken by the appropriate quarters to retrace the car.”

It will be recalled that Vice-President Jonathan had stated that the current administration believed in transparency and the rule of law, hence it decided that expenditures at the tournament would be audited at the end of the championship.

Disbursement of fund was jointly made by the National Sports Commission (NSC), LOC, sub-seat chairmen and sub committee chairmen, with the NSC approving almost all the contracts awarded by the LOC.

Meanwhile, the LOC officials are to be quizzed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the alleged financial scam that trailed the funds expended on the competition.

The commission, the Nigerian Tribune can reliably inform, had been conducting a secret investigation into the alleged multi-billion scam that had rocked the competition, even before it was concluded about a fortnight ago.

Sources within the commission revealed that the imminent summoning and questioning of officials was a fallout of the ongoing discreet investigation which reportedly made it compelling for the officials to come and explain certain discrepancies in their spendings.

Documents relating to the expenditures made by the officials were said to have been retrieved from a certain security agency that was also said to be probing the alleged scam.

The officials, according to the Nigerian Tribune findings, might start appearing before the panel which had been put in place by the commission to handle the enquiry into the matter.

Commission’s spokesperson, Mr. Femi Babafemi, could not be reached for comments, as calls put through to his mobile phones were not going through.

A myriad of allegations has trailed the handling of finances before, during and after the competition.

A staggering amount of money was said to have been spent on providing light entertainment, while contractors were said to be owed money which were said to have been listed as paid.

A human rights group, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), had petitioned the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) over allegations of fraud in the disbursement of the money released by the government for the tournament.

In the petition dated November 11, 2009, SERAP alleged financial recklessness on the part of the LOC chairmen of the various committees and sub-seats charged with overseeing the hosting of the tournament.

The petitioner claimed that “according to our investigations, the money so far released for the tournament is broken down as follows: logistic LOC board meetings and general purposes received N20 million from its updated budget of N75 million; the marketing committee received N78.4 million from the N140 million budget; the ceremonies committee received N65 million from its N103.9 million budget; the mobilisation committee received N30 million for its updated budget of N40 million; the volunteer committee received N40 million from its N102.15 million; the transport committee collected N97 million from its budget of N638 million; the accreditation committee received N40 million from its N75 million budget; the security committee received N80 million from its N300 million budget; the media broadcast committee received N40 million from its budget of N98 million; the media print committee received N30 million from its budget of N58 million.”

Others, according to the group, include the medical committee received N15 million from its budget of N24 million; the protocol committee received N18 million from its budget of N60 million; Lagos sub-seat received N40 million from its N80 million budget; Ijebu-Ode received N21 million from its N45 million budget; Enugu received N40 million from N60 million budget; Calabar received N44 million from the N60 million budget; the Bauchi sub-seat received N16 million from the N45 million budget; the Kaduna sub-seat received N44 million from the budget of N60 million; the Kano sub-seat received N40 million from the budget of N60 million; the Abuja sub-seat received N40 million from the budget of N60 million.

It added that “SERAP is seriously concerned that the above allegations are grave breaches of the 1999 Constitution, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Act of 2000 and international anti-corruption conventions, including the United Nations (UN) convention against corruption, to which Nigeria is a state party.

“Specifically, sections 9, 10, and 17 of the Corrupt Practices Act would appear to have been violated in the above mentioned case. Section 9 prohibits corrupt offers to public officers; Section 10 prohibits corrupt demand by any persons; while Section 17 prohibits gratification by and through agents.

“The UN Convention against Corruption contains similar prohibitions and imposes clear obligations on Nigeria to investigate allegations of bribery such as the present one and prosecute suspected perpetrators.”

The SERAP said “addressing the allegations above would instill accountability into the conduct of public affairs and contribute to tackling the culture of impunity, which is responsible for a vicious circle of official corruption in the country.

“The intervention by the ICPC would also contribute to the restoration of transparency, accountability, good governance and the rule of law in the country and bring Nigeria in line with its national and international anti-corruption obligations and commitment,” it concluded.

As for Mark hughes,we know he's not so accomplished. So we should leave him out of this argument entirely.
Nobody seems to want to answer DK's question on a 3 of 13 record against some of the weakest sides in Europe.
As for JM for man United, consider that spin-doctorism at its highest.A good number of fans do not want JM to succeed SAF.Even if that were the case,i believe JM is just a lucky chap.
Inept displays on the UCL stage only high;ight the reason for the original post.he won it in 2004,but against some of the weakest talent the Ucl knockout stages has ever seen.Hegot past United on a dodgy linesman call.If that call had been made correctly,I don't think we'd be debatingthistopic.
By the way, does it strike you that JM seems to coach ready-made teams?Has he taken any team and started rebuilding from the scratch? And how is that supposed to be termed "genius"?

So I guess you get all the credit you deserve.
i partially agree with your opinion. honestly im not a huge mourinho fan. I was watching terry's interview on chelsea tv the other day and he goes "mourinho was a genius. he would tell us attack from this area or attack from this position and we would do that and it would always work. this happened like 10-12 times." For Terry to be singing praises of that man you have to admire him as there is something about him. I guess that means he does have technical knowledge of the sport. OR Maybe hes into match fixing :p. just a thought

People are criticising Mourinho for his CL record. Sir Alex has only won 2 CL's in all his decades at Man U so expecting Jose to win every second year it is ridiculous. Has Wenger ever won a CL? And dont use money as an excuse because he had much less at Porto than any other manager that has won the competition in recent history.

I'm sorry but his boring defensive footballer, has tested the inter heriarchy too much. He does not play like champions. UTD and Barca won titles by playing good football. Inter barely has a challenger for the scudetto, so titles there mean little.

He is failed to purchase players to make dent in the CL, where would Jose be without his chequebook? Porto was a fluke and he knows it as well.

You don't spend obscene amounts of cash and turn around to your superiors and tell them its too risky to play football.

How could Roman promote the new Chelsea with that football??, Moratti at Inter is asking himself the same questions.

This dude is one of the worst WUMs out there, the worst being Tiger_Messi_Phelps and however the rest of his absurd username goes

Largepascal, you are an idiot of the highest order. He's won far more in his career than the likes of Arsene Wenger. 6 trophies in 3 years at any club is an excellent haul. Okay, he spent loads but money doesn't always buy success-look at Real Madrid this season if you want proof

He won a Champions League with Porto when he had no money to spend

He has now gone something like 150 home games unbeaten in the League

From the idiocy and bitterness of this comment, allow me to make my own observations. You are probably some spoiled, petty little 10 year old who supports Arsenal, and who is still furious at Mourinho for usurping Arsenal's position at the top of the League

Return to your colouring books and leave the rest of us big boys in peace

Van Gaal, Capello were not given half a billion pounds to win the competition.
Mourinho had infinite resources to win the UCL with Abramovic and failed.
Roman wanted the UCL so much he shelled mad £££ to get Shevchenko and Ballack.
Who gave Jose half a billion, you sound like a bitter Arsenal or Liverpool fan, to compete for the League had to invest heavily the chunk of the of the was done by Claudio Ranieri,

Fabio Capello broke the world transfer market, when he signed Gianluca Lentini, he had the best squad ever but he could only manage one win out of 5 attempts for the Champions league, Van Gaal bought Kliveurt, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Dani, Giovanni etc still didnt win it with Barcelona,

Like Sauron said Mancini competed against  Milan that was ruling Europe not this yeye Milan, Roma that was on point not this kind of mid table Roma,
Juve won 2005/06, but was handed over to Inter

2006/07 - Juventus Serie B, Milan (-8 points) Fiorentina (-8 Points)
2007/08 -  both Milan and Juven had to rebuild due to sanction against team (if am correct mancini was sacked before the end of the season)

The reason why he was confirmed is because he would be looking like a mumu / Mugu / Magah etc. when the officials sit on the players daily allowance at the tournament,

Mourinho has the rotten luck of always managing BIG CLUBS that can spend money and then produce flukes of resultz there.

He has not bettered Mancini at Inter Milan.
At Chelsea, he had the best squad in Europe in 2004/5 and it was a let down he was eliminated by Liverpool.
When he was in Porto, Porto was the best team in Portugal. . . . . .Since he left, i think the new manager has won the league TWICE.

I will respect Jose Mourinho if he goes to Aberdeen FC in Scotland or go to Everton and win the EPL with them.
Jose took over Porto in 2002,  (Porto won their last title in 1998 before Jose)

Mancini had NO COMPETITION when he Serie A

At the end of the day your bread and butter is the league, So many have tried to win the CL and not succeed at the end of the day Jose has won it with Porto.

You are even pushing it too far.

Is winning or doing well in the CL with Inter Milan too much to ask for? Inter has the name and the money and they even gave him a free hand to buy anyone he wants.

In terms of talents in Europe How many teams are better than Inter. A team that has Etoo/Zlatan, Maicon, Julio Cesar, Sneijder and Milito is not a small team anyday
So if Madrid doesnt win this season would you demonise the manager?

Mourinho is not a bad coach, he's good but his mouth is better than his technical depth.
Ancelotti had the advantage of playing under both Arrigo Sacchi and Capello and he started managing from the mid 90's I think he started at Parma, then Juve, Jose didnt play and started his apprenticeship under the late Bobby Robson then under Van Gaal
