May be she needed some change to buy a hand bag or a designer shoe and since Nollywood movies could be bumped out in days why would she ignore the chance to make some small change

Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo (Retired NBA star)

To the NBA world he is knowns as Mutombo,

He is a living proof of one of God's miracles,

When you ask for little you get little

when you ask boldly for the unthinkable then God has its way to meet your need,

As a fifteen years old growing in the Old Congo, living in an area struck by a serious disease , and he made a bold statement that one day he would build a hospital that would take care of everyone in the area!!

In 1997, Mutombo with the Mutombo Foundation began plans to open a $29 million, 300-bed hospital on the outskirts of his hometown, the Congolese capital of Kinshasa. Ground was broken in 2001, but construction didn't start until 2004, as Mutombo had trouble getting donations early on although Mutombo personally donated $3.5 million toward the hospital's construction.[16] Initially Mutombo had some other difficulties, almost losing the land to the government because it was not being used and having to pay refugees who had begun farming the land to leave. He also struggled to reassure some that he did not have any ulterior or political motives for the project.[16] However, the project has been on the whole very well received at all social and economic levels in Kinshasa.[16]

On August 14, 2006, Dikembe had donated $15 million to the completion of the hospital for its ceremonial opening on September 2, 2006. The hospital was by then named Biamba Marie Mutombo Hospital, named for his late mother, who died of a stroke in 1997.[19][dead link]

When it opened in February 2007, the $29 million facility became the first modern medical facility to be built in that area in nearly 40 years.[20] His hospital is on a 12-acre (49,000 m2) site on the outskirts of Kinshasa in Masina, where about a quarter of the city's 7.5 million residents live in poverty. It is minutes from Kinshasa's airport and near a bustling open-air market. The hospital has full telemedicine capabilities with the United States and Europe through the network established by Medical Missions for Children.

Is that what annoys you? That the media glorify her Cinderella story? I don't see you whining about other people that have risen from grass to grace o. In fact, I am seriously beginning to think you are a major chauvinist with the way you are going.
Pele. E go better.
You thought wrong, but if you think that am annoyed because she went from grass to grace! that is your problem, I work in the entertainment enviroment were most of the artist comes from nowhere to become millionaires so tell why Gene's success rub me up the wrong way!!!

trying to call me a bigot is kind of cheap and petty!

That the media glorify her Cinderella story?
More like Nairaland glorifying her Cinderella story

The real deal was when you said Angie had curves. I said it wasn't true and you showed me a CGI image to prove your point. What does that tell you about your sense of reasoning and obvious spite for the woman?
Like I said! do you want a medal?

because you looked for 2 of the most annoying pic you could find to back your case!!!!
Celebrities › Re: Genevieve Nnaji Featured On Entertainment Weekly by omar22(m): 9:05am On Oct 14, 2010
So the media doesn't rub Angelina in our faces as the undisputed queen of sexiness eventhough all we have to support that claim are photoshopped pictures and CGI images of what her body supposedly looks like? I showed you the real deal and you could not talk again.
Theirs a giant difference in the media who have a product to sell magazines, newspaper etc etc to members on NL (unless they could come on here and tell me that they get some sort of incentive for ramming her name on here on a daily basis) I cant remember your real deal, if its regarding the issue about the curves well if you want a medal I could organise one for you,

I have NEVER seen you say anything good about her no matter what impressive thing she has done.
Like I said earlier on I join or respond to posts that requires me to be for or against Genevieve! the choice is mine

did you ask for her number in that West London Club and she no give you?
Very funny!!!!!! actually I was with a lady that day

Personally, I don't care for Nollywood. I haven't seen up to 5 Nollywood movies in the last 5 years. I don't care for Gene either but I have to respect the fact that the woman has carved a niche for herself in the dirty environment that is called working in Nigeria and out of the slums of wherever she came from, she has managed to create a certain class around her persona. Getting to where she is today, I ask humbly, IS IT BEANS?
Oh give it a break, theirs so many people who God has blessed, moved them from the Slums to riches, some make out of worst places than Nigeria! we all know Genevieve's Cinderella story and yes bravo!!! to her
Celebrities › Re: Genevieve Nnaji Featured On Entertainment Weekly by omar22(m): 6:32am On Oct 14, 2010
ha very funny grin

I dont hate her! I dont know her! I cant stand people rubbing her name in all in our face as if butter wont melt in her mouth! I know everyone who has supported Gene here has ripped or put down another celeb in another post, I just enjoy and I join in the the pro Gene or Anti Gene debate because its the most interesting on Nairaland,,,

Its like on the BBC Chelsea forum we have similar fans who are prepared to go to war in defending Frank Lampard as the best midfielder in the world these are debate I enjoy, I like bringing people down back to earth most especially when it gets ugly and dirty,

So all what I say here, people could treat it as Gospel, to me its just for argument and only that, I have met Genevieve in a bar in West London, she's is a nice person, and she does her thing!!! and I respect her for that.

All the post about Gene vs Omotola, Rita, Tonto, Jackie etc etc etc I don't join in because I don't know them but the moment someone says Gene vs Halle Barry / Jolie / Gabby Union, well I say it as it is, sometimes my response might sound harsh the uglier the debate gets the harsher my response becomes,

If someone says Gene is the best , in Africa, I would say she is not which might spark a reaction,

This is a forum people are allowed to debate!!!!!

The more peeps talk/criticize/butcher/insult genny the higher she goes

She truly is a testimony, a single mother who had nothing when she came to lagos is now counting millions. A gurl her father sent out with nothing now has a dad begging to reunite the relationship.

Truly she is a success. The only thing I dont really like abt her is her body weight now, she is too skinny, now jare, I want more meat genny Tongue

Haters will always start rumors to pull down their mates who rise above them. Genevieve Nnaji is a favored child. She is a single mother, not the best actress in the industry yet she shines beyond boundaries. Initially, haters claimed that she slept with Atiku who in turn favored her by buying movie roles for her and subsequently bribing Oprah Winfrey to invite her to her show. Now, Atiku is busy looking for ways to shoot Jonathan in the leg and haters don't know what to accuse Genevieve of this time.

Why have you(Omar) decided to believe the tabloid that claimed she slept with Atiku but neither Atiku's testimony that she doesn't even know her nor Genevieve's denial?. The same tabloid wrote that Bishop Mrs Idahosa is sleeping with Jim Iyk. They also wrote Jim Iyk has HIV and are now sending apologies to him. You believe what you choose to but anybody who has been blessed and favored by God is like a moving train. You can conspire all you want, gossip about him or her till you faint, tarnish his or her image but you can't stop that person. Genevieve is a living witness although I am not her fan.
wait let me get the violin!!!

Are you saying that Angie is morally superior to Genny? Oga, because it is American does not make it the best o.
Does bird fly?
Celebrities › Re: Genevieve Nnaji Featured On Entertainment Weekly by omar22(m): 4:03pm On Oct 13, 2010
Huh? Were you there when any of these things were happening? Till tomm, Angie and Brad have not said a word on the true reasons for their divorce, all we get are media speculations.
Same goes to Genny. Were you there when Aso Rockians were dumping things in her?
Seriously, your hatred for the woman is really something!
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4156907.stm

are you now denying that Genevieve slept with one of the ugliest politians in the History African politics? Atiku is so ugly he makes Robert Mugabe look like a male model

@Nayah

We still have so many people who still think that they are living in trees, those who are still mentally oppressed and those who feel insecure about themselves,

The singer has a preference and some are not happy about it?

Like some people complained here that Nigerians are using white people in their musical videos!

spikedcylinder
Jennifer sealed her own fate the moment she choose Friends (the sitcom) over family , Brad and Jen didnt split because of Angie,

Didnt Genevieve sleep with one of Aso Rocks heavy hitters?

I believe that person was married at that moment?

And who is the home wrecker?

BUT IF YOU WATCH AMERICAN MOVIES CLOSELY THEIRS CAN ALSO BE PREDICTABLE 70% OF THE TIME
I BEG TO DIFFER,

Yes they do screen a written book (or covert a novel into movie)

Like Lords of the Ring, The Client and most of John Grisham books, so you probably know how it would end but the thrill of watching a master piece would put you in state of suspense about how its going to end,

Not a great fan of Nollywood but the most talked about IJE movie is yet to be release on DVD or CD (I dont know) given it enough time to take all it could take from the Cinema doors around the world, its been marketed properly

Do you want a loan?
Celebrities › Re: Genevieve Nnaji Featured On Entertainment Weekly by omar22(m): 9:07am On Oct 12, 2010
Yes she is not as pretty as Genevieve but definitely sexier than Genevieve. People love her because she is sexy and not because of her pretty face.
Exactly, Angelina Jolie is a sex bomb, and she has been in the top 10 world sexiest ladies over the last 5 years,

Angelina has the curves and the lips (even for a caucasian lady)

Celebrities › Re: Genevieve Nnaji vs. Halle Berry by omar22(m): 2:44pm On Oct 11, 2010
What is so Fab about Halle Berry? She's a bad actor. . . . the only diff between her and Genny is that Halle has a beautiful body. If you apply as much makeup on Genny as Halle gets, they'll be on the same wavelength.
Do you just call Halle a bad actress? well I am yet to see a role Halle has acted in that Gene could pull off.

Comparing Halle to Gene is like comparing an F1 car to a roller skates
Celebrities › Re: Is Genevieve Not Being Overated? by omar22(m): 1:19pm On Oct 11, 2010
I THINK GENE IS THE BEST ACTRESS IN AFRICA,
The name Thandie Newton or Terry Pheto comes to mind, Gene is not fit to lace their boots
Celebrities › Re: Is Genevieve Not Being Overated? by omar22(m): 11:36am On Oct 11, 2010
if given the opportunity, she will beat them hands down.
Which world do you live in, the opportunity is there, she has to go and take it, do you honestly believe that they would deliver it to her house?

Like I said earlier on her acting is good, but good for Nollywood simple!!! can you honestly swap Jade Pinkett for Genevieve in the role she played in "Jason's Lyric"? NO

Look its not about hate? All of the actors and Actresses under the Nollywood or Gollywood banner are not up to scratch, agree they are our own, but I cant stand an industry that doesnt want to improve, look at the music industry, a Nigerian singers could stand toe to toe with the best in the world but movies stars, they have no chance hell even against an average Hollywood stars,
Celebrities › Re: Is Genevieve Not Being Overated? by omar22(m): 11:22am On Oct 11, 2010
a world class actress
Dont ever put Genevieve and a world class actress in the same sentence again,

She is an Actress simple (Average at best)
