OREMUSSANCTUS:Ok. Noted. |
Good afternoon. I write this with a very heavy heart, worried sick about the orientation of the average Nigerian youth and their knack for turning logic right on its head at every turn. I stumbled on a thread, www.nairaland.com/2392653/buhari-declares-war-south-south-militants, a few moments ago which carried news about an ongoing military campaign against militants (terrorists) in some creeks in Cross Rivers state and was shocked to my marrows the kind of comments people who are supposedly Nigerians were making. First, the publisher of the article poses a security threat to this country. What is the use of the inclusion of "South South" in the title of the article?? We all know the kind of divisive rhetoric flying around these days and making "war-on" and "South-South" stand together as done by the publisher would certainly stir up emotions from a particular people. If the publisher had intended to publish the article in good faith, why didn't he simply put "declare war on militants"?? When the fight against Boko Haram is being reported, do we see things like "Nigerian Army bombs North East Boko Haram"?? I never imagined we'd become so bigoted and morally debased in this country that we'd consider it inappropriate for the government to wage war against a group of militants and pirates "following their frequent attacks on vessels, police stations, seafarers including market women" simply because these criminals come from the same region as we do and perhaps share common ethnicity with us. Have the posters criticising the government's action interacted with the pirates to know they come from the same backgrounds?? Couldn't the pirates be a mix of Nigerian and foreign nationals?? I just don't get it- on what grounds is attack on market women and police formations justifiable On what bases should reprieve be given such criminal elements by the state??Some posters on that thread went "he (Mr President) has been dragging his feet on Boko Haram but was so quick to deploy the military to the Zone" and I ask - what planet were these people when Buhari took his FIRST official decision after he was sworn in which was to relocate the military Command and Control Centre to the epicentre of the war on terror to bolster the campaign against those murderers?? Who bears the brunt of the activities of Boko Haram?? Would it not be in the president's/Nigeria's interest politically, economically and otherwise, to see that Boko Haram is completely extinguished?? Wouldn't doing so require a very decisive military approach?? Isn't that the reason he's been trying to rally the troops within the country and those of all our neighbours to commit to this just course?? How is a military campaign against militants and criminals an act of war against the South South?? Are these guys saying South Southerners are all militants and criminals ![]() Someone else went.. are the Millitants really disturbing, killing and molesting people more than the BOKO HARRAM ? OR is it a modern form of discrimination? And guess what- 16 people had already "liked" the comment the last time I checked. Now tell me, do we have to fold our arms and watch them metamorphose into something as deadly as Boko Haram before action is taken?? Are we oblivious of the fact that government's sloppiness towards Boko Haram during it's infant stage is the reason we have an all out war on our hands today?? How does fighting criminals amount to "discrimination" ![]() Then this comment took the idiocy to the summit of Everest! ode how many bokoharam has he killed since he took over power? ans = 0 he cant kill his brothersI just can't imagine how one was able to rationalise something like this. It is simply appalling to say the least. Imagine after reading the opening post, this poster still went on to say- "the group is causing the country no harm!!! I bet his opinion would have been a lot different had his mom being one of the said market women or his dad one of the security officers who fell victim to the group's attacks. How did we get here Where did we go wrong?? Is there any hope our so called youths are ever gonna break free from such jaundiced orientations?? Who are these people promoting this highly inflammable ideologies?? What exactly are their motives??Are these highly regrettable nuances borne out of an innate hatred for the president or are they spontaneous opinions attributable to the event under scrutiny?? When did we become so obsessed with the notion "a stranger has no right to punish my brother even when he goes against our common laws"?? Do we have any idea who the next victim of these criminals we tend to try to insulate from persecution and prosecution simply because they are our tribesmen would be?? Is there any hope the yawning gap between logic and tomfoolery, as seen amongst us today, is ever gonna be bridged?? The citizens of this country are in dire need of re-orientation. I weep for Nigeria and pray God have mercy upon us. Cc: Lalasticlala, Ishilove, Seun. |
IsraeliAIRFORCE:Are you sure you understand what you just typed You are contradicting yourself mr man. |
ShowYourCertificate:Hmmm. Ok... |
A very unfortunate remark I must say. I wish we can adopt the protocol obtainable in developed countries where public officers earn not more than 5 times the minimum wage of the country or a few greater percentage of the per capita GDP, then I'd see if any of these guys that jostle to get into these offices would still do so. I remember sometime back when an analysis was made and it was discovered it would take someone earning a minimum wage in Nigeria over a thousand years to earn what a legislator earns in a year, yet Dogara imagines they earn peanuts. So damn unfortunate. |
ShowYourCertificate:And Jonathan's siblings.

0menka:Ishilove, Seun, Lalasticlala. Please do something about this clone. Thanks. |
cocoduck:Have you ever sat down to ask yourself what you can do to make the country a better place and actually attempt to do same?? Have you ever imagined the failure of Nigeria might not be as much a failure of the FG as it is State Government?? Do you think the level of development in your state is commensurate to what the state has been earning at least since 1999?? Stop musing about the "zoo", make a paradise of it for yourself. No one will do it for you mr. As for the calling me lazy and parasitic, I'd let that slide. Made a commitment to leave the insults to kids around here and will NOT violate it. |
Op thanks for raising this. It was exactly what my friend and I discussed at a point in the club last night when images of the incident were flashed on the tv screen. It is nothing but religious profiling. Had a muslim carried out this act, ain't no chance it hell it wouldn't be tagged "terrorism". In this case they call it a "hate crime" or any other fancy names. The only person who came close to calling it what it truly is is the NWACP president who called it "racial terrorism". The word has been misapplied so much one is tempted to think the definition has been changed in the dictionary to apply to only acts committed by people of a particular faith. White westerners are only deceiving themselves. Another case in point is them breathing down our necks to handover our leaders for prosecution at the ICC when men such as Bush and Blair are walking freely commanding respect across the world, as though the court was established to handle only cases with African origin. Smh. |
dinachi:I love reading sensible posts like this. Nice one Op. Like I said before, all these people getting overly excited and giddy about "war" don't even know what a gunpowder smells like. When shiit hits the fan this time, they are not gonna read naratives on the pages of newspapers or elsewhere, they are gonna bear witnesses to the horrendous effects themselves, a fate I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I'm all for living peacefully and enjoying myself. Life is simply too precious. |
Mogidi:Go school, una refuse. ![]() And as for your comment, you see why I said what I said the other day when you tried to absolve yourself over ethnic bashing on nairaland- I said you are not just an ethnic bigot, you are also a religious bigot. |
They've started with their childish utterances. The same way they said PDP would rule for 60 years, that APC would not last a year, that APC would be in ruins before/after their primaries. Now this. And yet some folks who are so quick to point fingers at others wouldn't see this as "desperation for power" since it isn't coming from PDP. Nigerians though. Smh. |
Icon4s:It is a very old story. I'm sure if you search google well you could get a link to the story somewhere. This story and the pictures are more than six months old jor. Here's an old link: www.romancemeetslife.com/2014/10/do-you-believe-in-witches-that-fly-like.html?m=1 Very stale news. October last year. @ Icon4s |
Lalasticlala I think this deserves more coverage. Morning. Brb much much later to check the place out. Hustle calls. ![]() |
IdiAmin1:You call others fools yet you've not said anything sensible. Who are we to blame for all the sleaze that surrounded Jonathan's admin?? Didn't he appoint the so called ministers and all those in his cabinet?? In his failed attempt to exonerate himself, he gave a "yam and goat" analogy. Now tell me, who brought the goats into the yam barn knowing fully well the huge appetite goats have for yams?? Why didn't he put carnivores to guard the yams?? It is such a shame we had a president that didn't have any idea what it takes to be a leader. Glad Nigerians finally made the right choice giving him the boots. |
Nashoji:No. Rather watch PDP supporters who accuse Jega of being an APC accomplice and a "tribalist", just like Orubebe, come to celebrate Jega. You are already number 1 on the list. |
barcanista:Publish Who has time for that??It's an honest advice I gave you and I understand it is your prerogative whether to take it or not. Your life. Goodnyt. |

barcanista:Your comment is really unfortunate. It was stated the guys invaded the premises without a warrant and you ignored that. Whatever happened to due process and the rule of law?? Is it admissible to violate both now simply because a perceived adversary of yours is involved?? What if those guys were criminals dressed like police, or haven't we seen such instances where robbers, kidnappers and terrorist operate dressed like security personnels?? Bro, on a personal note, I'd suggest you pay a good attention to your surrounding. The world is moving very fast leaving you behind but you appear stuck in this forum. Someone very close to you "volunteered" some info about you, including pics, where you work, how much you earn and all that and I was really taken aback. If I were you, I'd spend more time searching for a better job and upgrade than spending endless hours on this forum. Think about it. God bless. |
@Lalasticlala. You could say that. ![]() Been very busy lately. Our NGO is entering a phase we never thought we would so soon after we founded it in 2009. Millions of dollars at stake. We are all working hard to ensure we secure the grant we need so much to make the impact we desire to make. ![]() Will share pics when the time comes. ![]() Doc if you see this, share so I know you did. ![]() |
Lalasticlala, long time. Hope you've been good... |
Typical. Jonathan's admin was nothing but a free for all looting frenzy by the hawks in Abuja. He condoned, excused and promoted corruption within his household, cabinet and beyond. Depending on how big what you steal was, you stood a chance to be awarded a national honour and a presidential handshake thanking you for a job well done. This info gives an insight into why defence contractors, people at the top of the food chain in the military, and some politicians would do virtually anything to ensure Boko Haram is never completely eliminated . Only time will tell. |
CSTR2:Only folks with very limited understanding of how the world functions imagine one borrowing means one is poor or that one having very little by way of liquid asset means one is a pauper. Dude, for your info, one could have as little as 1million in their account but wealthier than a state. Go figure. ![]() Regardless, I know there is no truth to the story. Just same ol bullshiiit to attract traffic to a blog, that's all. |
EUROBOMBER: ![]() |
kestolove95:Exactly my thoughts. |
stobery:This your meme na die!!! Rotflmao!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
This is nothing but pure laxity on the part of the prosecution. Someone has to be punished for this. The earlier we started dispensing of these cases, the better for us. |
Who even believed that stuff that was created by "breakingtimes.com" and propagated by her willing nairaland accomplices. That site has NEVER published anything "good" or "true" about this government. One day they said the president has a N2.1billion naira mansion in Asokoro, the next dey they said they discovered the president is worth N900million and must have lied about borrowing to purchase nomination form. Very funny bunch of people. |
axiliborha:Ok. |
