The question people should ask is- did Buhari take those pics himself and upload them on the internet or social media?? He's the president and whether he likes it or not, he gets the most attention in the country, and paparazzis would always trail him wherever he goes, except in his bedroom.

And who says he's not started working?? Are the meetings and briefing he's been holding just tea parties. Are decisions on governance not taken at those meetings?? Are the pics we get not from those meetings?? As he works, pictures of him are taken and splashed on the social media.

To some shallow minded folks, as long as we are seeing pictures of him, it means he's been playing.

Anyone not comfortable with the course of events and what they might yield in the future, like rallying the country's neighbours to clip the wings of rampaging terrorist in the North, going after terrorists in the ND creeks, ensuring the armed forces secure our oil installations, probing NNPC and merging duplicitous federal agencies should simply go apply for citizenship in Syria- they won't be missed.

Buhari is Buhari and nor "Northen Presidents". No doubt things would have been a lot more different had his first coming been longer than it was.

Jonathan had no reason to fail as much as he did or leave an empty treasury. No time in the history of the country did we earn as much as we did under Jonathan. What is there to show for all that?? A couple of locomotive trains which we only saw during campaigns. Where are they today?? Did Jonathan even fulfil a single campaign promise of his in 2011??

That dude leaves a lot to be desired from an adult honestly. He simply didn't know what was required of him as a president.
Politics › Re: Nigeria’s Treasury ‘virtually Empty’ Says Buhari. by omenka(m): 8:06pm On Jun 22, 2015
What a shame.

I'm yet to see a single reason why Jonathan should have been retained on that seat. When Bakere said it years ago that Jonathan was on a mission to bankrupt the country, people called the gentleman all manner of unprintable names but it seems he's now being vindicated by providence.

PDP/Jonathan knew what they had done to this nation and that was the reason behind the kind of campaign the marshalled against the President.

I really hope to see a lot of the people who worked under Jonathan account for the state of our treasury, and justify that under the conditions of crude oil sales that prevailed at that time.

That woman call Allison should rot in jail for her wicked behaviour. How can someone be so cruel like this? Her behaviour has pass more than "the love of money". I think she was just been wicked, if a director in the NNPC can be secretly be performing an overhauling of the refineries without his minister been aware, that means that the minister was been evil. And I assumed she was/is not a good mother.

Before the handing over, jonathan made a statement that ministers who worked under him are going to be persecuted. Notice he didn't use the word "prosecuted". It was a covert way of blackmailing the incoming admin into not taking punitive action against anyone who worked under him regardless of the severity of their crime.

It is such a shame we ever had such a president who fell hell over heels in love with corruption.

Jonathan was a disgrace to the office he occupied.
Politics › Re: How Crude Oil Swaps, OPAS Stalled NNPC Refinery Operations by omenka(m): 5:50pm On Jun 21, 2015
Look at a thread like that is supposed to stair up a robust debate would just garner a couple of pages and then fizzle out. If this were to be a thread about a grammatical gaffe by the president, or the colour of his shirt, it would run over ten pages- goes to show what our priorities are as a people.

So ashamed.

my bro, if you noticed, i just came back after some break from the insanity here and i'll not bother myself anymore with some threads and some posters. it's obvious we reside on different planets from them so we won't understand each other's language.

i read the earlier reports that indicate women going about their business were robbed and raped. people were abducted and killed routinely yet some think it sensible to come here and cast aspersions on the actions to stop these criminal element from proliferating?!! I mean these criminals prey on their own people!!! How does a sane person defend these guys? how does one reason with such thinking?

2 of my colleagues who are Niger Deltans from host communities were killed in the last 2 weeks by these same guys. One was killed during an attempt to kidnap him and the other was killed 2 days after ransom was paid to free him from the kidnappers. we all suspect it's because they believe he knows them and might squeal on them.

Then some youths believe they should defend them just so they can have a reason to denigrate PMB. I even saw a thread where another said over 350 people were killed in the raids and some believed that too??

My bro, na their cup of garri
It would even interest you to know that the guy who made the remark I was referring to is the self acclaimed intelligent No1 PDP/GEJ protagonist on this forum. cheesy

It has nothing to do with genuine ND agitators
Your clarification would fall on deaf ears, blind eyes, and acutely bigoted minds.

Watch people arrive on this thread to shout- "they have declared war on Niger Delta youths" as though all youths from that part of the country are criminals.

Imagine someone on the other thread saying Buhari should focus on Boko Haram, that the militants are "criminals and not terrorists". cheesy
Then one wonders what exactly is the organic composition of the brains of some of the people we interact with around here.

Honestly, it is just a pity how some so called "adults" think on this forum. Imagine the trash written by that poster. Such a shame. Someone has now arrogated to himself the right to distinguish between "criminals" and "terrorists". Why am I not surprised? For people who see a man who distinguishes "stealing" from "corruption" as their role model, it is only predictable they wouldn't see "criminals" as terrorists.

Politics › EFCC Reopens Case On Dubious $1.1billion Malabu Oil Deal by omenka(op): 8:34am On Jun 21, 2015
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday moved against convicted felon and former minister of Petroleum, Dan Etete, over the transfer of
$1.1 billion made to his phoney company, Malabu Oil and Gas, for the sale of OPL 245 to Italian oil giant, Eni and Royal Dutch Shell by the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

Mr. Etete was grilled Friday by detectives at the EFCC head office in Abuja.

Sources in the agency, who asked not to be named because they have no permission to speak on the matter, told PREMIUM TIMES that Mr. Etete, who was convicted for money laundering in France in 2005, was summoned by the anti-graft commission to answer questions regarding another curious huge fund transfer to
Switzerland.

The money was seized by Swiss authorities which then requested the EFCC to help call in the former oil minister for questioning.

One of our sources said Mr. Etete honoured the EFCC’s invitation on Friday and was extensively grilled extensively by operatives over that separate controversial transfer to Switzerland, and then about the curious $1.1 billion payment made to Malabu by the Jonathan administration, which the anti-graft agency has been
investigating for years.

That “corruption-tainted” transfer has attracted
widespread international condemnation.
PREMIUM TIMES learnt that Mr. Etete arrived the EFCC headquarters in the Maitama District of Abuja at noon on Friday, and was only released on administrative bail at about 5.P.M after he made an undertaking to return for more questioning on Monday.

“He first answered questions about the new controversial Swiss transfer,” one of our sources said. “But when our men started asking him questions about the pending issue of the $1.1billion payment, he pleaded to be allowed to
go gather all necessary documents concerning that transaction. So we committed him to returning here (EFCC office) on Monday.”

The spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwujaren, could not be reached Friday night to comment for this story.

Here is something to ponder on though, the true state of economy according to the transmission committee suggests we are now in debt to the tune of 7T naira.

How then are you going to pay it back since it's pretty obvious we have to continue running budgets in deficits and the long term economic outlook of our major source of income appears extremely dire (persistent low prices, inability to find buyers for our crude and the world gradually reducing its dependency on fossil fuels)
